KING GULF

KING GULF
Chapter 57's

Gulf was trying to maintain his consciousness. Damn what's wrong with my body? Before long, Gulf was unconscious. People started to huddle around trying to help the Gulf.

"What's this?" Hearing a firm voice, people immediately stepped aside and saluted. The king was coincidentally passing through town. Up who was the king of the kingdom of Poompat saw the man lying down. The more he was noticed he was surprised to see the Gulf who was now unconscious. He also quickly took her.

...****************...

Gulf finally opened his eyes and quickly woke up to find out his current whereabouts. Gulf is in a tent now. He came out and his eyes were fixed on Up.

"Gulf! You're up" Up approached her. Gulf saw his surroundings which he was now back outside the territory of Poompat kingdom.

"Phi why are we here?"

"I should have asked, why are you here by yourself? Where's your bodyguard?"

"I came here on purpose" Up took her into a tent to talk to each other.

Gulf sat back on the edge of his bed.

"How are you doing?"

"Yes, I think it's better. I don't understand what's happening to me? I didn't feel any pain or anything"

"You remember? My kingdom has a protector. You're a vampire who can't survive being in it. What did you come here for? You didn't even bring any bodyguards"

"I want to take grandfather's ashes"

"What?! What's for?"

"Holy sword my royal emblem is broken. I need it to fix my sword"

"Break it?! How can?! You know what that means, right?" Gulf nodded. Of course he knew, if the holy sword was broken or disappeared, he would not be considered a king by any other kingdom. Keeping the holy sword was his duty as a king and if people knew about it, then they would assume if the Gulf would not be able to guard its own kingdom.

"But why use human ashes? What's grandpa's ashes?"

"According to a blacksmith who made it, the sword needed grandfather's ashes to be able to fix it" Up fell silent. He was a little hesitant to agree on the Gulf's goals.

"Let me take him. You also know what it means if people know my sword is broken, right?"

"I didn't allow it. But I need to talk to my dad" Up saw the Gulf.

"I'll talk to him. But for a while you stay here. I'll leave some soldiers here to take care of you"

"Phi let me talk to uncle"

"Father's condition makes it impossible to get you here and you can't possibly enter my kingdom. So let me do it. Wait for news from me. You can?" Gulf was a little upset if he had to be told to wait, but he himself could not think of any other way until he agreed.

...****************...

Gulf was simply speechless staring at the burning bonfire before him. Until someone approached him.

"Your highness is past midnight so you better get into your tent for a quick break" Gulf glanced at him.

"Who are you?"

"I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself before. I'm general Max, the noble king of Up commanding me to stand guard here"

"Oh they're your army?" Max just nodded.

"They look tired. It's better for them you tell them to rest" Max glanced at his troops, he was a little clueless about what the Gulf said. Is he being reprimanded now?

"No! I seriously. They should rest not need to be on guard. There's not gonna be anything. Besides I'm a vampire you should know that already" Max was silent he had long heard of vampires but he had never seen one in person. Max glanced at Gulf, to him Gulf looked like an ordinary human. Are all vampires like this?

"But... We're on duty for..."

"Don't worry about your king, I'll say if you work well"

Kressek!!

The sound from within the forest distracted everyone. Max immediately stood by and told some of his men to check.

"No! Don't let them go!" Those people stopped immediately.

"Let me check it out" Gulf walked past Max.

"Not your highness. Let us-"

"This is not something you can do" Gulf smiled. It looked a little horrible to Max as Gulf smiled and looked at him with eyes that turned red.

In an instant the Gulf moved away from him entering the forest. Max could not stand still, he also invited some of his troops to follow the Gulf.

Max stops and he finds Gulf fighting with some people. He had to help him, Max swiftly approached him trying to slash one of them, but the sword was broken immediately which made him speechless. The vampire who was attacked immediately looked at him angrily. Gulf sees him and quickly throws him to get away from Max.

"Why are you here?!" Gulf was a little angry. He had already warned before but those soldiers ignored him. Gulf is furious that he does not understand why he cannot control these wild vampires and quickly kills all the invading vampires.

Gulf pulls the heart out of the last vampire until all of them die. His hands and clothes were covered in blood a little irritated because vampire blood always made him nauseous.

...****************...

Gulf washes his hands. Max brought me a basin of clean water.

"Let me help you noble" Max soaked a towel and squeezed it to clean the face of the Gulf that was splashed with blood. He said the Gulf was not like any rumor he had heard. If the Gulf king was cruel, he might have sent his army against the vampires. Ever since he first saw the Gulf, Max was amazed at him. He has never been in awe of a man, but Gulf looks different to him. He slowly wiped the Gulf's face. I don't know since when he was fascinated by the face of Gulf who looked handsome and beautiful.

"I told you you guys wouldn't be able to handle it"

"Sorry your highness. But as a soldier I can't stay silent" Gulf at least understood. He glanced at her, Max was almost similar to Bright in his stubborn demeanor and had always not thought of his own safety.

"I understand. But you have your own army. You should think of them too"

"I will remember your noble words. But this is the first time I've seen a vampire"

"really? Why?"

"I've never heard of vampires in the past, but when the royal protectors are broken, all the soldiers are told the truth about vampires. A little bit of disbelief but now I've seen it. They look like ordinary people"

"That's why they're not your opponents"

...****************...

After a long journey, Mile finally arrived at a large mansion that he had not visited for a very long time. He hesitated a little to enter, but he had to vent, even though he knew the people inside would not accept him.

A handsome man at the age of almost fifty years is the leader of a group of vampire hunters named Earth. He looked serious with the book in his hand. Until someone knocked on the door and entered the room.

"Chairman, someone wants to see you"

"I'm busy right now, tell him to go"

"But the chairman, he's..." Earth looked at her subordinates.
