KING GULF

KING GULF
Chapter 11's

The sound of the wind was heard blowing amidst the silence that occurred, passing by two people who appeared to be in serious conversation. Gulf was still speechless with his hand clutching his sword growing stronger.

"Your highness?" Realized by Mile's call, Gulf glanced at him.

"Why did you say that?"

"When you came before, I was wearing a ring. The ring was only reacting to vampires" Gulf recalled the pain that the moment suddenly came. Gulf glanced at Mile's hand which he immediately realized.

"Relax, I'm not wearing it right now. I always wear that ring, if there's a vampire I can't handle, then it'll help me, and it'll react to you. You know what I mean, don't you?" Gulf didn't want to believe it. Is he really a vampire? Why does something like this come on suddenly? Gulf pulled out his sword and directly pointed it at Mile.

"Your majesty what are you..."

"Are you going to get rid of me now?!" Mile laughed, he understood with Gulf's current worry.

"Your majesty, calm down. I'm a vampire hunter but not all vampires I've lost. Only those who disturbed mankind should be eliminated" Gulf stared intently at him.

"I know it's too sudden for you. But try to get used to it" Gulf was still a little less confident but slowly he lowered his hand back to insert his sword. There are many things he still does not understand. The vampire he had read in the book was very different from him. The ring that Mile says reacts to him because he's a vampire can't be proven. Damnit damnit! His head would break thinking about it.

"Why did your ring react when I wasn't threatening you myself?"

"Well an heirloom cannot distinguish the situation either good or bad"

"You can train me? I heard that hunters are also trained to use their powers"

"I'm not sure I've trained a vampire before. But maybe we can try it. You can come to my place" Gulf just nodded. Knowing about this, it might pose a danger to him. The power he has must be used as self-protection. Now he must be more vigilant of others.

...****************...

Gulf returned with Mile, and soon a horse-drawn carriage carrying goods arrived.

"Eoh what is that?" Tanya Mew who suddenly came.

"Only some wine and food. I want to share it with everyone" Gulf said.

"You give it too much, the food that was left yesterday is still a lot" Mew said.

"Is there a problem? They're my people, I'm free to feed them as much" replied the Gulf a little sniffy. Mew was stunned, he did not understand the Gulf's attitude towards him. Ever since returning with Mile, Gulf's countenance had seemed a little irritated. I don't know what they've been talking about. Mew glanced at Mile who was just smiling. A smile that made Mew even more clueless. Bright comes near the three.

"Type I've got information for another village, and what First said yesterday is all true."

"really?" Bright nodded.

"What's wrong?" Ask Mile.

"The disease is not only in this village, but in the special villages of agriculture all also get this disease. Phi can you help me again?" Mile smiled, patting Gulf on the shoulder.

"of course. It's also our job, I'll send my men now"

"Alright that's good. Bright, take some doctors in the royal hospital and take them to those villages"

"Yes I'll send my men" Gulf nodded, hoping everything went smoothly. Mew looked at the Gulf walking past him. He's a little worried now.

...****************...

The next day, most of the curses that hit the people in Khon village had been lifted and some people had already started healing. Now only a few people come to ask for treatment. People gathered for dinner together, Gulf and the others joined in.

Bright who just came to sit next to the Gulf.

"You're very busy. Need help?" Gulf.

"No, I'm just checking out another village. The doctors had started to arrive earlier and also the person sent by Mr. Mile had been scattered there. I'm sorry I took so long, some people keep talking to me"

"Why don't you open yourself up to them? They must be grateful that you helped and fed this food" Mile said. Gulf just smiled a little forcedly.

"They won't believe I gave it to her" Bright simply fell silent. He understood what the Gulf was feeling, how hard he explained to those people, but they only believed that Bright had given him was not their king.

"Why do they hate you so much?" Ask Mew. Gulf didn't answer he just drank his wine.

"Your highness... Frequently blamed. People thought he was so cruel, because they thought he was punishing innocent people. But unlike that, he would not punish if the person was innocent. But actually their biggest hate is when she-"

"Bright!! Enough's enough!! I don't want you to tell an outsider" Gulf said, stopping Bright.

"Type" Call Mew hoping he continues his story. Gulf looked at Mew and he brought two large bottles of wine and went to separate himself.

"I'm sorry I can't go on" Bright said.

"It's okay. Maybe he's not ready to tell" Mile said.

"Phi I'll accompany him" Mew said immediately after the Gulf.

...****************...

Gulf gulped down the wine in his slightly trembling hand, until someone picked up the bottle.

"That's enough, you're drunk" Mew said. Gulf did not answer and took another bottle beside him, Mew immediately took the bottle and threw it apart. Gulf was still silent, making Mew worried that he would usually get angry and say harsh words. Gulf tears suddenly flowed by themselves. Mew turned Gulf's body to face him.

"What's wrong with you if you have a problem don't face it yourself. You have Bright you have me by your side" Mew wiped away her tears. Gulf's face flushed red from drunkenness, suddenly his head lowered on Mew's shoulder. Simply to his surprise, he hugged the Gulf tightly.

"It's okay everything will go well. Tell me everything when you're ready" said Mew stroking Gulf's back and slowly Gulf's hand returned Mew's embrace.

...****************...

The two hugged for so long that Gulf fell asleep in his arms. Bright comes to the two, he is of course surprised to see the two embrace, but Mew instructs Bright not to make a sound. Bright did as well.

...****************...

Gulf opened his eyes due to the noise of Bright opening the curtains of his room.

"Sorry to wake you up this early, but this is the queen's death anniversary. You better get ready" said Bright. Gulf was still silent, his head was dizzy from last night's hangover. He had not drunk that much in a long time, and he did not even remember what happened after he drank himself.

...****************...

Gulf walked towards the backyard, the higher-ups and all the servants in his palace were neatly lined up outside the royal family tomb building. Everyone saluted him. Gulf entered the building alone and closed the door again. People were only allowed to pray outside and only he was allowed to enter the tomb. Gulf stared at the two coffins before him, approached him and sat down to begin his prayer.

...****************...

Some people are already preparing to return to their homes after getting treatment.

"Sir, thank you for helping us. As a token of gratitude, we will send some wine to you hunters"

"It's okay. That has become our job. If there's any other weird stuff you can meet us, you guys know the place, right?" Mile. Everyone nodded and they went home.

"Alright, then I should go back first. Some people I still leave here to take care of the unrecovered" Mile said.

"Iya phi, I want to see him for a minute" Mew said.

"Yes be careful" Mew went alone towards the royal palace.

...****************...

Cold sweat came out from Gulf's body, his body felt like it was not powered up. Something approached him and surrounded him. Gulf closed his eyes even more.
