Chapter 18's

Gulf opened his eyes, he was of course surprised that Mew was looking at him from a close distance. He immediately woke up and caused the two eyebrows to collide.

"Akhs! Why with you?" Mew rubbed his forehead which hurt.

"You surprised me yourself, Phi. I have to take a shower immediately" said Gulf nervously directly down from his bed.

Bright looked at Gulf with worry. Today, Gulf and Mew will return to the palace to retrieve the sword Mile requested.

"You sure you're going there?" Bright asked with a nod to Gulf.

"I'll go with you"

"No. It would be very suspicious if you came. I'm with p'Mew and... Did you send the troops I asked for?"

"It's your highness. But, sending an elite army to search for people, isn't that an exaggeration? They're specially trained for urgent matters that threaten your life"

"This is an urgent matter. They were not widely known to people, so it was fitting that they were given this task. Alright I'm leaving now" Bright is still hesitant to let Gulf go.

"Silent. I'll take care of him" Gulf and Mew set off on their horses.

The two reach the city, Gulf walks with Mew looking around him.

"What are you looking for?" Ask Mew. Unheeded by the Gulf, he tried to tease the Gulf, staring him in the face blocking Gulf's view.

"Phi what are you doing?" Gulf asked a little annoyed.

"You ignored me daritadi" said Mew sulking. Until someone called him.

"Oh master hunter" Call Pete.

"Pete?" Gulf turned his back, Pete who saw Gulf's face immediately knelt respectfully.

"Your Majesty" Of course making Gulf panic, they were in the spotlight at the moment, Gulf lowered his head to hide his face behind the hood of his robe.

"What are you doing?!!" Mew's words immediately woke Pete up. Gulf stared at the surroundings, people were looking at them at this moment. Whether they heard Pete's words clearly or not, but it still made the Gulf worried. Gulf leaves Mew and Pete.

"Type!" Call Mew, but Gulf doesn't listen. Even Pete who felt guilty was silent. Mew stared angrily at Pete, dragging him to catch up with the Gulf.

Gulf sits in a quiet spot, before long Mew and Pete arrive.

"I'm sorry. I really don't know if you're hiding your identity" Pete said.

"I promised you - I mean sir - and I'm sorry for what I said at the time" Pete said. He recalled his last meeting with the Gulf which was not very good. He feels guilty. He should not interfere in the affairs of the kingdom. Mew looked at the two not understanding. Where are the two talking?

"No. I should be the one apologizing. I was too selfish at the time. So, my mother is the brother of the leader in your clan?" Pete nodded.

"What does that mean? The queen belongs to the same clan as Pete?"

Mr. Apo was very angry when he saw me there. Really, I just accidentally entered it" Pete said, but there was no reply from Gulf or Mew. "If so, I think you'll be here forever" Mew said.

"No!" Pete looked at Mew wanting to be angry but he was too scared even though he knew Mew was just mocking him and back down upset.

"Forget over! I want to ask you something" Gulf said.

"What's that?"

"Do you know about the people who disappeared?"

"Yes. There are so many stories about missing people"

"Do you think they were attacked by wild vampires?"

"But not a single body was found" Mew said. Pete himself doesn't know what's really going on right now. Silence is all busy with each other's thoughts.

"If it's about those vampires, I think because a few days ago there was energy coming out of the palace, and it's capable of attracting vampires"

"What energy do you mean?"

"I don't know what it is" Pete said.

"Since the day you disappeared, many wild vampires forced their way into the settlement and I guess it was because of the energy that came up" Mew said. Gulf seemed to think.

"Did that energy come out of that sword?"

"Sword? What sword?" Ask Pete.

"A sword pierced me so that it rendered me unconscious and also gained-" Gulf stopped saying. He does not want to make Mew worried about the curse on his back.

"Get what?" Tanya Mew pretended not to know.

"Get...... Getting quite a deep wound, but since I'm a vampire, it fortunately heals quickly even without a scar" Grateful Gulf could answer it quickly.

"Phi Mew let's go to the palace now" Invited Gulf answered a nod by Mew leaving Pete who was still thinking, until he realized when someone patted his shoulder. He turned around and was very surprised to see the person in front of him right now.

Gulf and Mew enter through a secret passage. The palace is so heavily guarded now. Mew pulled the Gulf waist as they were almost seen by one of the guards.

"Phi let me go" Gulf said, trying to remove Mew's hand, which was coiled around his waist.

Once it felt safe, the two resumed their path.

"Let us meet the king!" Shouting someone made the Gulf move stop.

"They're still here?"

"Yes the news of your loss is kept secret by the palace. They were the ones who lost their families, they were angry there was no serious action from the palace"

"Shameful! I have to see them" Gulf said, but was immediately arrested by Mew.

"Not now. Or they'll know you're back. Don't you want to know their plan?" Gulf was furious that he was upset that he could do nothing now. He went to refocus on his goal.

Gulf up to his office, trying to feel the wall that was open.

"How do I open it?" Ask Mew.

"I don't know. Just then this secret door suddenly opened"

"Who are you?" Asked someone who had suddenly entered surprising the two. Mew automatically pulled out his sword to attack, but stopped when he saw someone he knew. Gulf looked back, he was relieved after what he saw Louis.

"Louise"

"Your highness. You here?" Louis looked respectfully.

"No time, do you know how to open this? I have to go back there" Gulf said pointing to the wall.

"I know this wall can only be opened by members of the royal family. You can put your power into this wall" Louis said, puzzling him.

"How do I get my power out?" Gulf asked looking at his hand, but another hand grabbed him. Mew holds Gulf's hand and sticks it to the wall.

"Close your eyes and feel the flow of power flowing in each of your veins" Mew said. Gulf complied, he closed his eyes and tried to sense the flow of his strength.

"Focus on getting it into your hands then your power will come out" The wall opened, Gulf opened his eyes delighted.

The three of them had already entered, Gulf immediately looked for the sword that had stabbed him at the moment.

"What are you looking for here?" Ask Louis.

"I will carry the sword. Where did you keep it?"

"There's another room. Let me drop off" Mew and Gulf followed. He was quite amazed this cave is quite spacious and there are several rooms in it. Until he entered one of his rooms, Gulf immediately saw the sword he was looking for.

"Do you know why this sword is here?"

"I don't know the details, but when it was the king who kept it here" Gulf stared at his sword, he didn't understand what had happened back then.
