61. SEVEN WISHES 6
Andra then moved Keila's head to look at something that was currently appearing in the sky before them. “See! Isn't that the rainbow you like??”
“True, it was indeed a rainbow that I liked. When it was supposed to rain, I went home and sat on the porch of my apartment like I always do. But because of you, I actually came here in bad weather just because I missed you. Because of you too I did a lot of things outside my habits.”
“Do you regret knowing me?” ask Andra curiously.
Keila shook her head. “No. Thanks to you, I can see rainbows in a short span of time. Don't you remember this is the third time the rainbow appeared when we were together??”
Andra nodded her head while smilingly staring at the rainbow before her. “Of course I remember that. This was indeed the third time the rainbow appeared in front of the two of us. But. .” Andra stopped her speech for a moment.
“But what?” ask Keila curious.
“This is the hundredth time that my special rainbow has appeared before me.”
Buk. For the fourth time Keila's hand floated on Andra's back and hit her. This time Keila's punch wasn't as hard as the other three. “You are. . . Why are you so smart to make a sentence that makes me blush??”
Andra smiled looking at Keila's face that was blushing in shame. “Because I really like to see your face blushing in shame because of me.”
“Stop discussing that!” firmly Keila was still blushing in embarrassment. “What is your seventh wish? Why did you only mention six of those seven wishes, Andra?”
“Because my seventh wish has not yet been fulfilled, Keila. Like I said before, I just wanted to be close to you. I just want to get to know you. I really didn't expect that you had feelings for me, nor did I expect that the wish I had ever made would actually come true. But. .. When one by one those wishes come true, I really feel happy. Hold your hands when walking together, eat the dishes you make, spend free time together, date together, see the sun rise and set together, and even meet your mother. I feel really happy to feel it. I guess six out of seven wishes is enough for me.”
“You confused me, Andra. Why do you talk in circles? Why not immediately say what is the seventh wish that has not materialized?” keila asked as she narrowed her eyes to look at Andra. “Could you want something related to physical contact??”
“What are you thinking, Keila?” Andra turned to ask Keila because she felt that what Keila was thinking right now was not something Andra was thinking about.
“I-it was me, you, then both, in the room and then like this and like. .” Keila gestured with both hands to describe something that was currently in her mind.
“Hahahahah. .” Laughter broke out from within Andra's mouth looking at the gesture made by Keila with both hands. “Where did you learn to make such a strange picture, Key?”
“From anywhere,” reply Keila. “So you really thought about it, Andra?” Keila took three steps away from Andra.
Seeing Keila keeping her distance, Andra smiled as she was feeling anxious with Keila's current thoughts. “Whatever you are thinking right now, is not something I want in my seven desires. I'm not the kind of guy who would sleep with a woman before marriage, Keila. Although I like you a lot, even though I like you for a long time, as much as possible I don't want my touch to you to scare me and make you uncomfortable with me. I do like you, but I also respect you as a woman.”
Huft. Keila exhaled as she felt relieved when she heard Andra's words about her current thoughts. Thank goodness that desire is not something I am currently thinking about. Keila then took two steps and approached back to Andra. “Then what is the seventh wish?”
“Before I tell you what my seventh wish is that has not been achieved, will you ask why it is only seven?”
Keila narrowed her eyes looking at Andra. “Should I ask about that too?”
Is he pranking me? Why have you been talking in circles since? This isn't the Andra I've known all along? What is the difficulty of directly saying the seventh wish? Why do I have to ask first about the reason why there are only seven desires? Keila looked at Andra for a moment. Feeling very curious about the seventh wish, Keila finally agreed to Andra's request to ask first about the reason for the wish which only amounted to seven. “Alright, why are there only seven wishes? Why seven and not another number? If there are ten reasons to hate you, then people will usually make a wish based on that movie. Why do you only make seven wishes, Andra?”
“You know that rainbow that you like so much is made up of seven colors?”
Keila nodded her head. “I know.”
“Then in a week there are seven days, in this world there are seven oceans, in music there are seven musical scales, and lastly there are seven levels in the sky. For most people who know this, seven is considered a lucky number and so are you, Keila. To me, you're the luck I've had once in my life. Our first meeting there. .” Andra pointed to the edge of the river where she was once helped by Keila. “for me it was a coincidence. But being with you, in the past I considered it a great fortune to me. You don't know how many times I feel that being able to know you and be your lover is something I can't do.”
Keila's memory of meeting Andra on this bridge, when Noah tried to attack and intend to kill him, then appeared in an instant. That memory twists Andra's attempt to save her by calling herself Keila's lover. If Andra didn't call herself a lover, what would happen to both of us? If at that time Noah did not attack me directly, what would happen to the two of us now?
Keila's memory then brought Keila in as Andra gave her the job in exchange for a thirty-day suspension. If Andra had not made me work as his cook, what would have happened to the two of us now?
Keila realized there were many times and reasons why she ended up falling for Andra and actually becoming Andra's lover like Andra had been saying all along. If all of those things hadn't happened, would I not have fallen for her?
Keila could not find the right answer but Keila was sure that if things were different, as long as Keila knew Andra, Keila would still fall for Andra.
Keila looked at Andra and realized Andra was staring at her. “Then what is the seventh wish, Andra?”
“When I say that you are a rainbow I can see every day, I hope in my heart that I can see you every day for the rest of my life.”
Keila's mouth was gaping because she felt that she understood the meaning of Andra's words. Because of the many novels with various plot, this time Keila felt familiar with the intent of the speech Andra had just heard. “Could it be that seventh wish. . .?”
Andra nodded her head as if understanding Keila's only half words. “It's true. The seventh wish that has not been achieved is to be your family. Which means I want to be your husband, be your life partner for the rest of your life, Keila. We may have known you only for a short time, but one thing I learned in that short time: I cannot lose you. Therefore now with all the seriousness I have, with the rainbow appearing as a witness as well as in this place where you and I met, I would like to ask you, Keila. Will you marry me and be my wife?”
Keila froze at the question she had just heard from Andra's mouth. Keila's mouth felt stiff to answer that question. Keila's head was still unable to properly process the speech that came out from Andra's mouth. Keila who still did not understand the current situation could only ask in her mind while looking at Andra with a look of surprise and disbelief. Did Andra just propose to me? Someone please tell me that this is not a dream?
