30 DAYS WITH U

30 DAYS WITH U
1. MISADVENTURES THAT COME IN STREAKS OF 1

Somehow I have to explain. I don't know where I should start. I was at a loss for words to explain the situation I was currently in. It felt like there was only one proper word to describe the situation that happened to me today: I was being unlucky. I'm really unlucky to say that today is the unluckiest day of my life.

All the misfortune probably started about three months ago if I don't remember wrongly. All my misadventures have started to arrive since my secret admirer who always sent me flowers in the office started to cause me problems: both in my work and in my love relationships.

Three months ago. . .

“Keila!” Keila's superior, Mr. Great smiled at Keila as he called Keila to come to his desk.

“Yes, Sir. What's up?”

“Do you have a lover in this company, Keila?”

Keila was surprised to hear the question coming out of his team leader who was known to be very fond of meddling in other people's affairs. “No, Sir. I had no acquaintance when I entered this company. I only know a few important people in the class of manager, even I know him because of the tasks given by the company to me.”

One of Mr. Agung's eyebrows went up to hear an explanation from Keila. Mr. Agung then glanced towards the bouquet of flowers that had just arrived. “Did you see that bouquet of flowers, Keila?”

Keila nodded her head. “Yes, Sir. I saw it.”

“The bouquet is for you and this has been somehow the umpteenth time this bouquet of flowers comes every month.” The Great Sir then gestured with his hand to Keila to bring Keila's ear closer to her. Keila did the orders of her superiors and before long Mr. Supreme changed his tone to a little whisper. “You sure you don't have a special relationship with someone in this company, Key?”

Key is a close call from fellow– office colleague Keila. “No, Sir.” Keila gave an answer in a confident tone to her superior-Great-Pak.

“You sure you're not hiding something from me, Key?”

Keila nodded her head. “Yes, Sir. I'm not hiding anything from Mr.”

“Alright then.” The Great Sir received an answer from Keila after exhaling his breath. “Then do you want what is this bouquet of flowers, Key?”

“Let me put it in this room as a sweetener of the room as usual.” Keila smiled at the Great Sir. “It's a pity if these innocent flowers are thrown in the trash, sir. The makers of this flower bouquet have the heart to cut this flower from its roots and make this flower die faster than it should. So I will not let this flower be in the trash on the day of his death.”

“Hahahaha. . .” Laughter sounded from the mouth of Mr. Agung who listened to the answer from Keila about the bouquet of flowers that might come from his secret fans. “As usual, your words sometimes really– really make people laugh, Key.”

“Thank you for the compliment, Sir.”

Keila took the bouquet of flowers addressed to her and placed the bouquet in a vase before placing it near a window in the editor's department's workspace. Keila is a 27-year-old girl who now works as a novel editor at a major printing company in Indonesia. Keila has worked for five years at the company of her dreams and enjoys her time as a novel editor.

Since childhood, Keila has loved books. Some of Keila's favorite books are novels, comics and magazines. But of the three books, the novel was the most interesting to Keila. When reading a novel, the reader will be forced to make his own expectations or shadows about the character's character– be it the feeling of the character when facing various situations and life around the character. The shadow that appears in each reader will sometimes be different depending on the capture and imagination of the reader, and that is what makes Keila actually fall in love with the novel.

Several times while working as an editor, Keila tried to create her own novel. But unfortunately. . his work is not as good and as good as the work of–works he has read may even be worse than the work of amateur writers.

“Is this really your writing, Key?” The Great Sir looked at Keila with a look of disbelief as he read Keila's work he wrote in his spare time.

“True, Sir.”

Hearing the answer from Keila, the look on Mr. Agung's face then turned into a disappointed look.

“It seems you still need to learn a lot more to make your own writing, Key. Your work has many shortcomings and feelings that exist in the character are not conveyed properly at all.”

Since that incident, Keila may have stolen–steal time to write again but her belief in becoming a great writer fades little by little. Due to the outbreak of covid that hit almost all over the world, making work done from home increased including writers. Due to the outbreak of covid, many new writers emerged and Keila's work as an editor increased sharply. Keila began to lose a lot of time to make her own writing and slowly forgot her small desire to become a writer.

Back with the bouquet received by Keila, people began gossiping about the bouquet that Keila always received on the 10th of each month.

“Can Keila's boyfriend send it?” asked one of Keila's colleagues, Suci, to another Keila colleague, Nuri while on the toilet during work break.

The two Keila colleagues had no idea Keila was in one of the toilet cubicles and sitting there listening to their conversation from behind her door. Keila who was familiar with the two juniors memorized their voices. Without having to peek out from behind her bathroom door, Keila was able to clearly guess the two owners of the voice.

“It's impossible. You remember Keila's sister had a boyfriend about four months ago. And the interest has been sent every month on the 10th in a period of more than a year. . .”

Nuri gave her defense to Keila and made Keila moved to hear her junior defending him. But not long ago the taste of the fragrance appeared, Keila had to hear the bitter reality of the mouth of her junior that made Keila regret the taste of haru that appeared in a short time earlier.

“. . .That nameless flower must have come from one of the employees in this company. Considering the bouquet of flowers delivered is quite a luxurious bouquet of flowers, she definitely has a standing in this company.” Nuri continued her words.

“Ah, true too. I also saw that the bouquet was a luxurious bouquet of flowers that definitely had an expensive price. But. .” The Saints agreed to Nuri's opinion.

“But who do you think secretly– likes Kak Keila and makes Kak Keila in trouble like this?”

“Whom do you think you are?”

Keila heard the voice of a woman she knew come in and instantly cut off the conversation of two of Keila's junior colleagues. It was the voice of a woman named Yuna from the design department and is the ex-boyfriend of Keila's current boyfriend–Noah.

“Ah, Brother Yuna, good afternoon,” greet two junior colleagues Keila together.

“Siang too, Suci and Nuri. I overheard the conversation between the two of you and accidentally my mouth said answer your questions.”

“What does Brother Yuna mean?” asked Nuri who could not help her curiosity.

“Didn't you hear the news?” Yuna caught the curiosity of the two Keila juniors. “From what I heard from the assistant department under the director, the flowers Keila received came from there. Maybe Keila flirted with one of the directors of this company and used her lover to cover up her act.”

Keila who heard the conversation really felt annoyed because in fact, she did not know a single director in this company. His position as just an ordinary employee was only able to get him to know a few company managers - nothing more.

The misfortune doesn't end there. As soon as he got home from his office, Keila who had just arrived at his small apartment saw his lover-Noah who was waiting for him to come home with a face and a gaze full of anger.

“Why not tell me if you're waiting for me here? I thought you were busy like always?”

Keila then invited her Noa-lover to enter her apartment.

“Why? I can't come without telling you first??” Noah asked in a faint tone of voice.

Keila who felt a look of anger and a faint tone of voice from Noah tried to smile in front of Noah. “Not so, if you tell me want to come I will go home sooner.”

“I heard you have another lover in your company working, Keila?”

Hearing the question from Noah, Keila finally understood the meaning of the angry look and look on her face while waiting for him. He must have heard it from Yuna. Damn Yuna! The way to get Noah back to her really sucks.

“I have no other lover besides you, Noah.” Keila deflected Noah's words with a smile.

“Then what about the flowers you have received? Who is it from?” Noah spoke with a cold tone and a sharp eye gaze as if a wild animal ready to pounce on his prey.

“I don't know, Noah. The flowers were sent nameless even before I became your lover.”

“Then. .” Noah stopped his words for a moment and stared intently at Keila again. “If you don't know who the flower is and still want to be my lover, get out of that company right now. I'll finance all your needs and we'll get married soon.”

Keila who was preparing a drink to then accidentally dropped her glass when she heard Noah's remark about getting out of his job.

“Why??” Noah asked when he heard the sound of falling from the glass that Keila was holding. “You don't want to leave that company, Key?”

Keila looked towards Noah with a guilty face. “Sorry, Noah. I still don't want to get married. I still want to enjoy my time at work. You know very well that that company was the company of my dreams for a long time. I can't just walk out because of your selfish desires and your jealousy.”

Noah's face hardened when he heard Keila's reply. “You said I was selfish, Key??? Then what about you? Why didn't you tell me from the beginning that you always received the flowers? Don't you think that guy could have taken you from me?”

“No. All this time the sender of the flower never appeared. So why should I worry about that. Then the reason I never said this to you is because I don't want to see you jealous for no reason like this.” Keila tried to explain.

“So you chose to keep working in that company, Key?”

“Ya.” Keila answered with confidence.

“Between me and that company, will you still choose that company?” Noah asked Keila once more.

“Yes. I can't just let go of my dreams.”

Noah nodded his head and then got up from his seat. “Then our relationship ends here. I can't have a lover who prefers his company over me.”

Keila's misadventures started from that day.
