Episode 8 The Science of Raga Splits the Earth
The day is past noon. They rested in a small forest in the area of Padepokan. Niken and Batari Mahadevi sat on the rocks, while Jalu pegi looked for something to eat in the forest.
Each student must be able to get food from nature because that is how they must live as a traveling swordsman later before then he will be finished in his wandering, whether married, set up his own college, serve the kingdom, and then he will be finished in his journey, or will live as a wanderer.
Aside from food, each disciple should be able to survive by absorbing the earth's energy. Therefore, this science is what is taught by Ki Gading Putih for the first time.
”Kakak Niken, since we went around earlier, I have not seen the first, second, and third brother. Where are they?” Ask Batari Mahadevi to Niken.
“The three of them are now carrying out the duties of the teacher. In the north there is chaos. The group of Black Snakes started to make a fuss there. Our three brothers and sisters are assigned to help some of the white schools that are there to defeat the group of Black Snakes.” Niken continued his story.
“If you may know, what about you so that you can be raised by Ki Gading Putih?” Niken asked Batari Mahadevi because he was curious, because his teacher never told the background of his students.
“Saying my mother, the teacher asked me to study here when I was 10. Then yesterday my mother brought me here.” Answer Batari Mahadewi briefly. He did not want to tell about his abilities that he had acquired in an unnatural way.
“Means now you are 10 years old?” ask Niken
“No sister, I'm new 7 years.” Answer Batari Mahadewi
“What? Ah, I must have seen it wrong.” Niken said she couldn't believe it. He thought Batari Mahadevi was a girl who was 10 or 11 years old. “I think you're fast growing tall for a kid your age. All right, now I understand why the teacher raised you to be a student. In addition to your physical size, you also have the ability to talk like an adult.” Niken.
“Did you ever get a task from a teacher like our college brothers do?” tanya Batari Mahadevi diverted the conversation. He felt not too comfortable when his interlocutor talked about him.
“I've never. I've asked for assignments, but the teacher hasn't allowed it. Said I had to perfect my science first.” Answer Niken.
Soon after, Jalu came with fruits from the forest and a roasted chicken. Batari Mahadevi was surprised by the chicken pangang brought by Jalu.
“How did big brother get that roasted chicken?” tanya Batari Mahadewi.
Niken and Jalu smiled. Niken always thought that Jalu was lucky to have her powers. That is, he can make roast meat at any time in the rain though.
“I got it in the forest.” Answer Jalu.
“Ayam roast?” Batari Mahadevi still could not believe it.
“Yes, roasted chicken. I'll ask you sometime to look for food like this. In this store, we should be able to find our own food or we will starve.“ Answer jalu.
After they rested, they finally returned to the cottage. Ki Gading Putih seemed to be sitting alone in the pendopo. When he saw his disciples arrive, he called Batari Mahadevi.
“Batari Mahadevi, come here.” Ki Gading Putih.
“Good teacher. “ Reply Batari Mahadewi.
“Son, have you ever learned to read and write?” Ki Gading Putih asked Batari Mahadewi.
“I can read Master, but have never written. Maybe I can write.” Batari Mahadevi
“Good teacher, students will learn well.” Answer Batari Mahadevi.
In the library there are a lot of manuscripts written on slabs. Some are the writings of Ki Gading Putih, the books that Ki Gading Putih had obtained during his journey into swordsman, and some are copies of the knowledge that had been learned by Ki Gading Putih. Currently writing is an ascending thing for Batari Mahadevi. Through writing, he can know things that he has not known.
Batari Mahadevi took one of the thickest manuscripts, and he entered his cottage. He spent his time reading until the evening. Batari Mahadevi did not take long to read such a thick script. The manuscript is a story in which there is knowledge of gods, giants, and humans.
By evening, Ki Gading Putih called his students to gather at the pendopo and they would have dinner together. Niken and Jalu prepared the dinner for her teacher and her new sister.
After dinner, Niken asked his teacher again. “Teacher, when will I get a task like the one that my sister lived?”
Ki Gading Putih immediately caught the direction of the conversation. He knew very well that Niken was looking forward to testing his skills in the real world of warriors. But Ki Gading Putih felt there was something lacking in Niken, even though he knew, Niken had extraordinary strength that would make even the magic swordsman to hold the title would be difficult to deal with it.

“There are so many teachers, but can students ask one thing?” ask Batari Mahadevi.
“Sure.”
“Do teachers believe that the giant really exists?” Ask Batari Mahadevi.
“Yes, I believe. I've killed some giants in the past.” Reply Ki Gading White.
“Can the teacher explain the difference between giants and demons?” Batari Mahadevi asked again. For Jalu and Niken, Batari Mahadewi's question sounds like a girl's question that is still plain. But as soon as the teacher answered, they thought of something else.
“The giants are like us, only they are savage like animals. Their bodies are much bigger and creepy. While demons are creatures that can vary in shape. Some are human-shaped, some are giant-shaped, some are animal-shaped, some are plant-shaped, and many more.” Reply Ki Gading White.
“Which is stronger between stealth and giants, guru?” Batari Mahadevi asked again.
“Siluman will grow stronger with age. While giants and humans will become strong, even stronger than demons, when training their strength, no matter how old.” Reply Ki Gading White.
“Where do the giants live, guru?” Batari Mahadevi asked again.
“They used to have a giant kingdom, but after the gods destroyed it, they spread throughout the world. For 7 years I have never seen a giant. It's a strange thing. Before I still see it often, even in the Forest of Cemara a thousand, sometimes there are giants who come out of the temple to find food.” Ki Gading Putih.
“The disappearance of these giants is not a good sign.” Ki Gading White looked deep into the sky. There was a restlessness in his heart that he did not fully understand. He felt that soon there would be a disaster, no matter what it was.
After a small talk after dinner, each of them returned to the cottage to rest. Batari Mahadevi knew something that he did not reveal to his teacher after dinner last night. He knew that if the book was read in reverse, then the contents were a martial art of the Science of Splitting the Earth.
