Pendekar Batari Mahadewi: The Journey to Find Your Self
Episode 18 of the Black Bat Group

At dawn, Batari Mahadewi, Jalu and Niken returned to the inn. They sleep and only wake up when it is noon and their stomachs start to get hungry. Living in a village with its people makes their stomachs hungry easily. Many temptations, many sellers of good food that they will not be able to meet while living in the Thousand Spruces where they must prioritize absorbing energy from nature rather than from food.

“We can't just stop this thing which is actually easy.” Said Jalu.

“Yes, it looks like we need information help from someone else. I heard from the owner of the inn, the village elder Air Lives is a magic swordsman who is reluctant here.” Said Niken. “Should we not first discuss what we know with the elder?”

“It's better so.” Jalu consented. “We find food first, then later we will visit the village elder.” The three finally set out to find a restaurant in the center of the village.

“See that store, from yesterday we saw, the store was never quiet. Aren't you guys curious?” Said Niken.

“The shop only provides one type of menu, red mushroom turtle soup. Sounds weird, but there's no harm in trying.” Said Jalu who was also interested in trying to eat in the tavern. Then the three rushed there.

They entered the shop and found an empty table. All three were lucky because there was still only one table left. Waiter approached them, “What can we help young master and ladies?”

“We order three servings.” Jalu

“Good young master, wait a minute we will prepare a warm soup for young masters and ladies.” The servant said.

As usual Batari Mahadewi prefers to research the people around him. Most of the visitors to this shop are warriors. They ordered red mushroom turtle soup because this food can increase energy and is very good for restoring health.

Batari Mahadevi saw a group of warriors dressed in all black who were sitting a little away from the table of the three of them. What is interesting is that in the clothes of those people, Batari Mahadevi saw a small bat symbol.

‘Is the long-robed man their leader? If true, he is the head of the Black Bat. His radiance of energy was invisible and only high-ability people could hide his energy so that his opponent-to-be could not predict the extent of his ability.’ Batin Batari Mahadevi's.

The waiter came to bring Jalu's order. The soup gave off a strong spice aroma and invited appetite. “Is there anything else I can help sir?” the waiter said to Jalu.

“Can I ask you something?” ask Jalu.

“Please mr.” The servant said.

“Where is the village elders house located?” said Jalu.

“Ah, the village elder had just eaten here sir, when he came home, this lord and ladies had just arrived. If you want to find him, you will follow that path. Just keep going until he finds a house in which there is a big pendopo. That's where he lives.” The servant said.

“Thanks a lot.” Said Jalu.

“Sama-sama sir. Enjoy our cuisine.” The waiter left their desk and went back to work.

“Sadly we are late coming here.” Said Jalu.

“It's okay brother, we should indeed have to visit his house to talk about this.” Batari Mahadewi. Then they started eating.

“Hmmm. Just this time I ate this kind of food.” Said Niken.

“Ya..but this is really spicy..and I can't stop enjoying this delicious gravy.” Said Jalu. “You like it, sister?” ask Batari Mahadevi.

“Yes, this dish tastes like my mother's cooking. I think you miss a lot of good cuisine in the Village Cemara Seribu, there are many delicious mushrooms that can be cooked.” Answer Batari Mahadevi.

While still living with his mother, Batari Mahadewi often get good food cooked by Nyi Turmeric. That is why at home, Batari Mahadewi can eat a lot and greedy. Now Batari Mahadewi knows that his mother has the ability to cook in the class of a restaurant cook.

“Really? Then, after we finish this mission, I'd like to visit and taste your mother's cooking.” Said Niken excitedly.

After eating, they immediately rushed towards the village elder's house. It's not hard to find. The house looked simple, but had a fairly large yard and a fairly large pendopo. In the pendopo that is usually the residents held a certain event there held a certain meeting with the village elders.

“Excuse.” Said Jalu.

Shortly after, a middle-aged female figure appeared to come out from inside the house. “Yes, let's go in do you want to meet the elders?” Greet the mothers kindly.

“Then please wait a minute, I will call him and prepare a drink for you guys.” Said the elder's wife.

“Thank you so much mom, don't bother. We just stopped by.” Said Jalu.

The mother went into the house. Soon the village elder appeared with his wise-looking face. In one look, Batari Mahadewi knew that the elder was not an arbitrary swordsman.

“Sorry to keep you waiting. I am the elder of this village, the villager calls me Ki Buyung.” Greet the elder.

“The three of us are from Padepokan Cemara Seribu, elders. Student Ki Gading White. It just so happened that we were running errands and passing through this village. My name is Jalu, and these are my two sisters, Niken and Batari Mahadewi.” Kata Jalu introduced herself.

“Oh, it is an honor to be visited by my best friend's student. How's your teacher doing?” Said the elder with a smile. He did not expect that he would be visited by a disciple of someone who had saved him from death.

“Teacher in good condition, elder.” Answer Jalu.

“There must be something important that you will tell me so that you are far away from your paddle and stop by here.” Said Ki Buyung.

“In fact, our arrival this time is a coincidence, elder. While we were staying in this village, we got the news that there was a corpse thief who until today has not been caught and is still carrying out the action. Of course the elder has heard of this problem.” Said Jalu.

Ki Buyung's face changed when listening to Jalu's words. There was something he seemed to be hiding. “Yes, that's right. To this day we have not been able to catch the thief. In any case, the action unsettled the citizens even though the stolen ones were bones in the grave.” Said Ki Buyung.

“Actually last night we secretly lurked in the graveyard. We found the culprit and followed him. We wanted to know what the purpose of the theft was. It turns out that this theft has something to do with the gun shop in this village, and the group Black Bats.” Jalu explained.

Ki Buyung could not hide his shocked countenance. He also looks worried.

“Do the elders know about the group of Black Bats?” ask Jalu.

“E...mm.the group is yes...hmm. If so, then,

we will not be able to fight them.” Said Ki Buyung who looked confused.

“We offer help when elders want. So far we have done nothing but gather information. Of course we will ask permission in advance to the elder.” Said Jalu.

“E...iya...thank you very much for the offer. But maybe we will talk first with some other village leaders. If you do not mind, wait for news from us first, considering this is important, do not let us be rash in doing action.” Said Ki Buyung.

“Good elder. We will stay in this village for a while until this matter is resolved. In that case, we beg you to say goodbye, elder.” Said Jalu. The three of them left the residence of the elder's house and returned to the inn. After the three left, Ki Buyung immediately rushed in a hurry towards somewhere.

“We just wait for news from the elder. Do not let us step over what is not really our business.” Said Jalu.

“Iya, we just wait.” Said Niken.

By nightfall, the three wanted to take another walk in search of a diner. Many places to eat that made them curious during their stay in the village.

“Yes, we have to try many food stalls in this place. This village is crowded. It turns out that there are many fun things that we can meet, especially food.

“Are the brothers not interested in seeing the gold mine in this village?” ask Batari Mahadevi.

“Sounds interesting. But there's no way these nights are gonna get us there. Let alone the night of the day we can be suspected. Of course in the mine was guarded many warriors.” Said Jalu.

“Then, tonight we just enjoy the atmosphere in this village. Mumpung is bright.” Said Niken.

The village looked like a city. Despite the night, many shops are still open, ranging from food stalls, taverns, and nightlife venues that are always enlivened by people from various other villages. Not infrequently in such places there is a commotion because of gambling problems, women, and people who are drunk.

As Batari Mahadevi and her older siblings walked around after dinner, the three of them were startled by the presence of shadows emitting black energy.
