An Iron Polar Bear

We pegged for a moment. With our heads up, we held our breath. My body immediately shook violently. Because the one in front of us, is really creepy and hard to beat.

A polar bear.

Neo instantly snapped his staff, the staff turned into a long chain whip. Covered in pointy ice, it looks terrible.

"Well! My guess is correct, it's not as complicated as you guys imagine, Jian, Rui. Only a polar bear, once defeated, will advance again!" Neo jumped into the air, knocking his whip towards the polar bear standing.

Gap!

Neo's in the air. The whip crumbled into small ice grains as it struck the white bear's soft fur.

"What is this?" Neo immediately went down again, standing next to me, his wand returned to normal.

"It looks like we won't beat him easily, Neo. Other than fighting, we can only escape, not defeat him," I clasped my staff tightly, Piu Piu who stood in front of me growled loudly.

Neo let out a long breath, "Oh my god, which bear is capable of destroying such a powerful whip?" Neo turned his wand into a pointed spear, "Well, how about we just stab it?" Neo mounted the sturdy horses, then jumped up, and aimed his spear right over the big bear's head.

The spear was precisely clanging down, Neo bounced five meters from the position of his horses. He grimaced, rubbing his painful butt.

"Hey, it's definitely not a real bear!" Neo exclaimed in protest, "Where is a bear whose head cannot be hollowed?" he was very upset because his attacks were in vain.

"What if we just fly past it?" Rui has a brilliant idea.

Neo looked up, "Look at that, Rui. There's a transparent roof up there. We can't fly past the top of the labyrinth. The only way is to defeat this bear bastard," Neo twirled his spear, preparing to attack again.

"But this bear is obviously not to be defeated, Neo," I stopped the movement of his hand, looking at the bear who seemed to have been very angry.

"Say if you're afraid," I chuckled, grasping my staff even tighter, "On the count of three, we'll jump over this bear, Rui, Neo, don't fight anymore, get ready!" i exclaimed.

Rui and Neo did not make a sound anymore, preparing to jump with me.

"Two ..," I held my breath, "If this bear pursues, we put up the barrier as hard as possible so that he can't catch us," I turned my head back, Rui and Neo nodded steadily.

"Three!"

The three of us jumped in unison past the head of this bear. Jumping it like this, I felt like my movements were given a slow motion effect. It was slow even though I felt like I was jumping fast.

I screamed hysterically, Neo was slammed into the ice wall on the left by the bear, his body slumped down after being hit by the ice wall violently, Neo spewing blood again.

Rui and I immediately helped her up, but the bear moved quite nimble, smashing its hand towards us, Rui and I immediately made a big and strong barrier.

But the barrier we created was easy once he broke.

"Run, Rui!" I ran while dragging Neo's injured body.

But the movement of our feet was not as fast as the bear was running. It only took a few steps for him to catch up with us.

The bear turned its head, I was thrown three meters away, Neo was thrown even further, Rui was still in place, maybe this bear felt Rui did not involve himself with him, so did not attack him.

"Run, Rui, hurry!" Neo exclaimed, he dragged me with limping legs. We have successfully jumped the bear, just need to escape.

Rui ran over to us, but the bear caught Rui with his big hand, then threw him so far away. Now Rui was on the side before we jumped. To join us, Rui had to jump once more.

Neo chuckled in annoyance, "Fucking bear, watch out for you!" Neo ran forward, I blocked his arm, it's not a right that can solve this problem.

"Neo, you better find a way for Rui to jump again!" I exclaimed in annoyance, not allowing him to attack.

Neo exhaled in annoyance, lowering his staff again. I'm concentrating, what should I do? This bear is made of iron. Very hard and cannot be defeated.

Piu Piu jumped forward without my consent, his claws covering the face of that damn polar bear.

Seeing that he had been attacked again, the bear went on a rampage, his hand moving about to grab Piu Piu and throw him in the other direction.

But Piu Piu could not be thrown so easily by him. No matter what kind of magic my cat had, its claws were immersed among the bear's dense feathers, unable to be removed except at its own will.

"Quick jump, Rui!" Neo exclaimed, looking at Rui who was getting ready to jump again.

Rui jumped up perfectly, reuniting with me and Neo. He exhaled a sigh of relief, his legs looking trembling.

"We have to run now." I pulled Rui's arm and started running.

"Wait!" Neo exclaimed, taking out his little book.

I snorted, "You really want to write in the middle of this situation, Neo? It doesn't matter, we have to go!" I took the book, but Neo refused.

"This is very important, Jian!" Neo recaptured it, drew something quickly.

"Why draw a lidi?" I stared lazily.

"To distract, you don't want Piu Piu to stay stuck with the bear, do you?" Neo replied unconcernedly, tearing the paper off after he finished drawing it.

Neo applied an illusion spell to the image, turning it into the shape of the three of us.

Wait, the three of us?

"Let's run, Piu Piu! Let him play the doll!" Neo exclaimed, Piu Piu pulled out his claws from the bear, then jumped up high, his body returning to its original state when it arrived in my arms.

Neo-made dolls ran towards the bear, making it an easy target for the bear. We immediately ran away from the bear, stopping in front of the intersection.

"Where are we headed?" i asked.

"Straight, there are three branches in front, and then we turn to the right" Neo replied as he continued to run.

"Will there be a red dot?" Rui asked.

"There shouldn't be. There was only after the next intersection again," Neo replied again.

"Is it safe?" I looked back, the bear was out of sight.

"He's not catching up" Neo added.

We stopped running after feeling our situation was safe, exhaling a sigh of relief. Smiling satisfied.

"That money, it's just big, but it's stupid," Rui said.

Neo chuckled, "That bear isn't as stupid as you, Rui."

Rui fell silent. The situation became silent after Neo said that sentence again.

"Eh, I'm just kidding," Neo grinned the horse while scratching his nape.

Rui took out a water bottle from inside the small bag, "I'm so thirsty."

Neo and I laughed, "He was silent because he was thirsty, Neo." I whispered in his ear.

"If there's sun up there, what time is it?" Rui asked again.

Neo slightly thought before replying, "Maybe the sun has already set."

"Isn't it time for dinner?" I also asked.

"Let's just have dinner here," Neo checked the map, "It should take an hour until the red dot arrives at our place. We have to finish dinner in fifteen minutes, then walk straight and turn to the dead-end intersection ahead of there before the red dot passes through it."

We take out supplies, it's still the same bread as yesterday.

"When do you think we're getting out of this labyrinth?" Rui looked up, staring up there in the dark.

"When we have found the Candle of Eternity," Neo answered briefly.

"Does it take a few days?" Rui asked again.

"Perhaps," Neo sighed softly, "This maze is huge, we just passed through several intersections, ahead of there, there will be up to hundreds of intersections before we arrive in the middle of the labyrinth, The candle of Eternity is there."

"But our food is running out" Rui checked her small pouch, her face looking sad.

I patted him on the shoulder, "After this, let's save our food, Rui. So that we don't lack food," I smiled at him.

"If I had known we would appear in a giant labyrinth, I would have prepared more food supplies before we got here." Neo chewed his bread.

"It's been fifteen minutes, Neo. Let's move now." I drank water.

Rui nodded, she had already finished her meal three minutes earlier than us.

We continue on our way, should there still be about five hours before bedtime, or maybe, tonight we won't have time to sleep?

"The right passageway is our destination, but there's a red dot there, we'll take a straight road fifteen meters away then turn left to hide for a bit. Let's see where the red dot is going" Neo pointed to the straight path in front of us.

After walking fifteen meters, we turned left as Neo instructed. The red dot in the true hallway was walking the passageway we had previously passed.

We peeked a little, "Do you think it's a polar bear too?" Rui asked Neo.

Neo shrugged, "May be yes, may not."
