Journey In A Fantasy World

Journey In A Fantasy World
The Second Snow Storm

This time, our trip was not as bad as yesterday, although above us was a sloping hill with pointed ice rocks, but the weather was not bad and sunny enough to continue the rest of the climb.

We can fly faster to get to the top and find the Candle of Eternity.

"Eat your breakfast ration, Rui," I gave you one skewer of roasted venison that was the same as last night. Of course this one was freshly baked.

"Thank you, Jian," Rui accepted.

"Jian, you know no, yesterday it was you ..," Rui did not continue her sentence again after I threw a sharp glare at her.

I know what Rui means. We both stared at Neo sitting in front of the campfire, eating his breakfast rations.

"Jian, did you realize it?" Rui immediately approached me, her eyes twinkling with curiosity.

"Eh, realize what?" I immediately put on a plain face, making Rui snort annoyed.

"That, loh ..," Rui drew nearer, "When the storm subsides, you fall, and Neo catches you like a princess falling from a height, it would be very romantic if accompanied by a romantic song, Jian," Rui whispered it in my ear.

My cheeks warmed up, I immediately distanced myself from Rui, "You don't talk nonsense, Rui," I scolded her.

"Eh, but that's not bullshit, it really happened to you and him, Jian. You can't think of it as nonsense even if I don't have the evidence," Rui refuted, turning her head closer to me.

"Have it, forget it, I don't want to know any further" I said flatly.

"If you don't believe it, please just ask yourself," Rui instead smiled ignorantly and continued her sentence.

"No need, I don't want to."

"You don't want to thank me?" Rui asked again, this time she removed her ignorant tone.

I was silent, remembering last night when Neo asked me what I was grateful for, I was thanking him at the time, but not for it. Uh, could Neo hope I'm grateful for that?

We started flying after we finished eating. I stared down, the large expanse of pointy ice looked beautiful when reflected in the sunlight. As if twinkling to the rhythm of the snow breeze.

"What do you think is the place to find the Candle of Eternity?" Neo asked.

Me and Rui shrugged their shoulders.

"Maybe it's like somewhere like Dixia Academy?" Rui replied origin.

"It seems impossible."

...----------------...

We arrived at the top at exactly twelve o'clock in the afternoon, the top of this mountain, just a sloping stretch of snow. There is no special place that might be used to store a second heirloom.

"Neo, show me the map," I reached out, Neo handed it over.

As soon as I saw it, it immediately made me frown in wonder, this map was different from the map that Queen Hudie had provided.

This map was plain white like the color of the snowflake beneath our feet. Without any pictures or writing in it.

"Neo, Zhi says this is a map that can show the location of the Candle of Eternity?" I handed it to Neo again, "I can't see anything there," I snorted.

Neo grinned wide, then rolled it up again, he asked me and Rui to come closer to him.

"What do you want?" I looked at him lazily.

"In order for you to be able to read the map, I need to add a certain spell into your eyes," Neo stood one step right in front of me, his eyes shining straight through my eyeballs.

Neo's eyeballs turned bluish, as if I was hypnotized by myself when I made direct eye contact with Neo.

"Let's take another look at the map, Jian," Neo handed me another scroll.

"Your turn, Rui," Neo did the same to Rui.

It made me wonder, "Neo, did you also look like that with Zhi when you first received the map?" my many.

Neo shrugged, "What's wrong? You jealous?"

I immediately fell silent, lazy to respond to people with too high a level of confidence.

"According to the map, we should go eastward, Jian, Neo," Rui chuckled, pointing at the writing on the map.

We immediately approached him, staring at the map together. Then walk towards the east as it says on the map.

After an hour, we still had no idea what our destination was heading east. Because instead of somewhere possible as the map says, in front of us there was only an endless stretch of snow, we found nothing until we decided to keep walking eastward.

"Maybe we forgot something, Neo," Rui patiently re-impsed the map.

But it didn't look like we were forgetting something, our direction was correct, and the map showed no other writing than continuing eastward.

"Basic fool!" Neo snatched his map from Rui's hands.

Rui pegged for a moment, she felt herself doing nothing wrong, but Neo said stupidly with a snapping tone. That was enough to hurt her heart.

"Are you okay, Rui?" I hugged his trembling shoulder.

Rui didn't answer my question, her eyes glared sharply at Neo, but the selfless man didn't notice it and just focused on understanding the contents of the map.

Rui snatched the map from Neo, then threw it away haphazardly, her clenched hand punching Neo's jaw in a crushing manner.

Seeing his teammates do that, Neo glared to the point of accepting, "You're this why?!"

"You said you?" Rui snapped at him with dewy eyes.

"When someone is desperate, you think it's right to say stupid?" Rui asked in a flat tone.

That friend of mine, doesn't have the talent to be good enough to be angry at someone. He prefers to say heart-piercing sentences to make the other person annoy him again.

"While I never said it, I know you always thought of me as the weakest of us, Neo. You didn't care about me when I was hurt, you didn't ..," Rui stopped her sentence, her tears couldn't be contained anymore, slid down her cheeks, "You don't ...," Rui lowered her head, "Forget it, however you say it, you always can't take care of someone's heart" Rui exhaled. Turn back west, to our original point.

"Rui!" I exclaimed, about to chase after him, but Rui threw a barrier so that I could not catch up to him.

"Neo, what are you doing? Make her mad?" I pushed Neo's shoulder, feeling quite upset that he didn't act in the slightest to see Rui leave us.

"He was the one who was exaggerating, Jian. Why should I be angry just because I say stupid?" Neo even snapped back at me. Keep walking east.

How'this? Why did our team just split up? Just because of a small problem that shouldn't be big.

"Neo!" I chased after him, I couldn't let my two friends fight in times like this. We need to stay together in order to get back into our world.

"Neo, you have to remember, splitting up won't make us find the next heirloom thing! Think about it, Neo! Come back!" I exclaimed raucously, Neo still doesn't listen to me.

I was silent for quite a while, the two people who had been by my side for a long time now chose a different path. I exhaled softly, picking up the map that Rui and Neo had left behind.

I growled, because of this map, my friends got into a fight.

"Walk east."

I stared at the blank writing, no pictures, no other clues, just that writing.

But just after paying attention with enough concentration, I discovered something else.

"The Second Snow Storm."

What the hell does that mean? Where was the first snowstorm?

I recalled how we had a fight on the climb yesterday, it was a small quarrel that happened between us.

When I asked to rest because Rui was exhausted, Neo refused and said...

"You think he's the only one who needs to rest? I'm just as tired, too, but we have to keep climbing until we find a safe place to rest!"

Neo, it must have hurt Rui too. At that time Rui did not say anything because her body was already very tired. That's when the first snowstorms came.

But this time, Neo said it was stupid, Rui couldn't help it anymore, deciding to completely abandon me and Neo.

Will the second blizzard come after this?

Not finished I thought, the sky above rumbled violently, flying snow everywhere. I immediately stuck my magic wand on the ground and grasped it tightly, my body was almost carried away by the wind.

"Neo, careful!" I exclaimed loudly, Neo looked back, I couldn't see his face anymore, a snowstorm covered my vision.

I can't just be quiet like this, my friends could be in danger if I don't help them right away.

I jumped into the air, fully concentrating while keeping my body from being dragged away by the wind. Now I've mastered the spell thanks to a short lesson from Neo.

If he hadn't helped me then, maybe I wouldn't have been able to do it myself this time. I'll thank him again later.

I raised my magic wand high, keeping my concentration while keeping the horses on top of this wind. The storm started to surround me, I could see nothing but a snow wind.

I screamed loudly, shaking both hands to the side, the storm broke like the previous storm. But without Neo's help, the storm wasn't completely gone. I dove freely down, I closed my eyes, I hope my body doesn't fall between the rough rocks of the cliff.
