Twelve o'clock in the afternoon, we were already halfway up the climb. Because the path was really steep, we were forced to get rid of our thick robes and wear compact clothes.
My face was completely covered, I was wearing a hairy scarf, covering my head with the knit skulls we bought at the market yesterday.
The wind here is very strong, flying snowflakes, making us cold to the bone. I glanced at Neo who was still climbing with vigor. Rui was left behind once in a while, sometimes I had to slow my pace to compensate for Rui's move.
Actually he was not bothered by the cold, but his feet were not used to tracing the ground with these snow-covered pointy rocks.
A few hours later, our footsteps were not as fast as before, Rui more often stopped, his legs swollen. When I offered him a break, he said he was still able to walk.
Neo was still leading in front, I saw his face that still looked enthusiastic, yet was already so pale. His feet were trembling as he stepped.
"Neo, let's just take a break!" I exclaimed, the strong wind makes my voice unheard if I do not say it out loud.
"Where do you want to rest, Jian? All around us are sheer cliffs, you think we can rest now?"
I fell silent, looking back, "But Rui needs a break, Neo!"
"You think he's the only one who needs to rest? I'm just as tired, too, but we have to keep climbing until we find a safe place to rest!" Neo doesn't care about me anymore, keeps climbing these craggy cliffs.
If you look at the contours of the land, it looks like it will take a few more kilometers before this cliff starts to slope. Supposedly after passing through the precipitous cliff, there would be a good place to rest.
"Neo, how about we try to fly? Up there the cliff is not too steep, if we can get to the top quickly, we can find a place to rest!" I pointed up there, the precipitous cliff we were climbing on seemed to disappear, it should indicate that the cliff was starting to slope.
"The wind is too strong to fly, Jian. Didn't I say it before we started climbing? We can't fly in this bad weather. There was no other way but to continue climbing to the top!" exciting Neo.
I looked back, Rui started to lag further, I stopped to wait for her to arrive beside me.
"Rui, do you need any help?" I asked him.
Rui shook her head, "I'm fine, Jian. Let's keep climbing until we meet the ramps you mean," he replied, smiling with his chapped lips.
I stared at the snow falling from the sky with this strong wind. I stuck Jilly between the rocks of the cliff, grasped it tightly, my free right hand held upward, I released my magic energy.
I plan to absorb this wind into my energy, at least so as not to interfere with our journey ahead.
"Jian, what are you doing?!" Neo exclaimed as he glared at me.
I did not care about it, continued to raise my hand and absorb the cold wind around us.
Neo pointed his hand at me, a blue-colored light shot out from Neo's hand, the moment the light hit the tip of my index finger, the wind that had originally whirled there instantly broke apart, returning to rustle in the air.
I glared, "Why are you bothering me, Neo?!" I called out not to accept.
"Your luck will only make the wind bigger, Jian! Don't do it, or a huge storm will devour us right now!"
I was silent, feeling very guilty. I just want to ease our journey. I really can't bear to see Rui's leg hurt and swell up, she must be in pain.
"Neo, we've been walking for five more hours, and never seen a place to rest, you think I'll just be quiet without making any effort to see my friend exhausted?" I did not give up my glare at him.
But Neo didn't listen to me, his face looked panicked as he looked up at the sky. Up there it looks dark, lightning flashes collide with each other, the wind rustles get firmer, the snow falls more and more, the weather really changes drastically. No more sunlight visible from this height.
"Look! The storm came because you made the wind center on your energy, it would only invite the storm to come, Jian. And you will not be able to absorb everything into your spiritual energy!" Neo looks really upset at me.
I also had no idea that my actions only worsened the situation. Now it's not just the sheer cliffs that we're facing, but the blizzards that are preparing to roll the three of us into it.
"Make the barrier as strong as you can friends!" Neo exclaimed, already snapping his staff down, he created a shield that was not only transparent, but looked like a sturdy wall that surrounded him from end to end.
Rui immediately did the same thing, the barrier was as solid as the Neo barrier, I breathed a sigh of relief the two of them were already safe.
I don't intend to create a barrier either. But I plan to face this blizzard and master it.
I'm the Wind Controller. I can't be afraid of a snowstorm. I made this storm come, I should have driven it away.
I jumped into the air, Jilly flew over, I grasped it tightly. Piu Piu appeared next to me, activating his transformation.
But this storm is hard to control, I almost slammed many times, but I can still control the balance.
"Jian, don't try!" Neo yelled at me from down there, the two of them hanging on the cliff rocks, relying only on the strength of the hand and the barrier so that the snow throw would not hurt them.
"I have to take responsibility, Neo!" I screamed back.
Maybe my stubbornness made Neo growl, he pulled Piu Piu with his controlling magic, Piu Piu landed on top of the Rui barrier bubble, "Take him for me, Piu Piu!" he screamed again.
Then jumping into the air, making a sturdy barrier bubble, then with all his strength, he shot towards me, hugging me tightly, we were inside the same bubble.
"Jian, your strength hasn't been too capable to control a storm of this magnitude. You're gonna need someone's help" Neo looked at me seriously.
I fell silent, not because I couldn't answer anything, I was just afraid that I would lose my concentration if I spoke.
"Follow my movements, Jian," Neo looked straight ahead, he took his hand off my waist, then put the horses in the middle of this storm roll.
Neo holds Pru with both hands, then directs him upwards, chanting a special windbending spell, I follow him.
Neo flew upwards, I followed him, the wind that surrounded us followed Neo flying upwards, then in a few seconds, he swirled through the air with his cane.
Neo flew even higher, then released it into the air, the storm burst, scattered all over, the originally dark sky returned to light, lowering the snowflakes quietly.
I felt dizzy, my body dazed, falling from a height of dozens of meters.
"Dian!"
...----------------...
I opened my eyes slowly, feeling the wind blowing so coldly greet my face. Something like oppresses me, but it makes me feel warmer.
I looked to the side, and saw my best friend lying down while hugging me. I smiled happily, "Thank God you're fine, Rui."
"You're awake, huh?" Neo says hello. He sat in front of the campfire flipping through the roast meat.
"You know what, Jian? The nighttime weather here felt warmer, not as cold as the nighttime weather in the Forest of Curious Spirits," Neo gave me a skewer of roasted meat.
I eat it, it's not rabbit meat, it tastes better, but it's not more chewy, I can't describe it perfectly.
"I hunt reindeer, Jian. It's enough to eat until morning" Neo answered my curiosity about the roast I ate.
"Neo, how long have I been asleep?" I asked pleasantries.
"Since performing the Wind Controller Formation," Neo replied shortly.
"Then Rui?"
"He slept an hour ago. It's almost twelve o'clock at night, I told him to rest with you," Neo replied longer.
I was silent, not knowing what to say. Ever since that storm came, I felt that my relationship with Neo had become very awkward.
"Neo, I'm sorry," I muttered softly.
"Why?"
"I made that storm come." I lowered my head, the atmosphere became quiet because Neo never returned my words.
Neo exhaled, "Have it, I also know you mean well. It was also my fault for not telling you about the storm from the start, it was a good thing that we could control it before it turned into an ice storm." Neo chewed again, I looked at him from behind the campfire, Neo looks pale, but he has always been like that ever since he was hit by the forbidden magic attacks of Rux.
"Neo, you're okay, right?" I asked again.
"You ask like that almost a thousand times a day, Jian. You're not bored?" Neo snorted in annoyance.
"Then I just want to say thank you."
Neo looked at me, his face showing a surprised expression, "Really?" he exclaimed with a mischievous smile, "Since when can you thank me, Jian?" that ignorant smile turned into mocking taea.
"Then I'm not grateful. Anyway I've been thanking you too often, I'm bored," I turned my body around, sat back to him, and finished the rest of my grill.
"Thank you for what?" Neo asked again.
I was silent for a while, remembering the storm, she yelled at me and immediately helped me control the wind, she even hugged me to protect me from the storm.
I wanted to thank him about it, but it seemed, Neo would misinterpret it with something .. emmm, forget it.
"Jian, I'm talking to you, it's not good to turn my back like that" Neo scolded me. I turned around again immediately.
"So you asked what?" I pretended to look up at the sky.
"What do you want to thank me for?" Neo really repeated the question.
I fell silent again, then hurried to shake my head, "Forget it. It's nothing." I stood up, picked up some more dry wood, threw it into the campfire, "Neo, you better get some sleep, I'll be on my guard."
Neo raised his eyebrows, "Are you sure it's okay?"
I nodded, "I'm not sleepy either."
"Then I go to sleep, I'm already very sleepy." Neo stood up and entered the sleeping bag that had previously been my bed.
"Neo," call me.
"What else?" Neo turned his head towards me before going to lie down.
"Have you taken your medicine?"
Neo was silent, grinning widely, just taking out a potion bottle from his small pouch, "I'll drink it now."
If I don't remind him, will Neo forget his duty about taking the medicine?
