The sound of knocking on the door was heard when Claire was unloading her clothes that were still in her suitcase. He put back the clothes in his hand when he heard the sound of knocking on the door. Claire stood up after that walking towards the door.

"Miss, everyone's been waiting downstairs for dinner" said Aunt Mey after the door opened.

Claire smiled and nodded. "Okay, Aunt Mey, I'll be down in a minute."

After Mey's aunt's departure, Claire closes the door and tidies up her appearance for a while after it descends to the bottom.

The atmosphere in the dining room seemed silent, there was no conversation whatsoever even though they had all gathered at the dining table. As Claire had just sat down, Claire's eyes immediately met with a dislike look from Sean's mother and an indifferent face from Sean.

"From now on get used to getting off on time at dinner time. Don't let us wait like we are now." Sean's mother opened her voice while looking at Claire with a flat face.

Before the atmosphere heated up, Sean's grandfather opened his voice, "We better eat."

The Louris family was used to eating at 07:00 p.m. Claire is also used to having dinner on time with her family like the Louris family, but when she lives abroad, Claire never applies that rule again.

During the night tomb, no one made a sound. They had dinner quietly. The Louris family forbade anyone to speak while eating. After they finished eating, they just talked.

"Sean, Claire will be working at your company from tomorrow, set up the right position for her" Grandpa Sean said after they all finished dinner.

Sean looked at his grandfather with cold eyes. He has not even accepted Claire as his future wife and now his grandfather wants to include her in his company. It seemed like her grandfather was trying hard to bring her closer to the girl.

Sean thinks that his grandfather has been fooled by Claire. The girl from the village who didn't even understand anything, how could her grandfather think of including Claire to his company who did not have the appropriate qualifications to become an employee in his company.

After being silent for a few seconds, Sean leaned his back on the chair then stared lazily at his grandfather. "Grandfather, company is not a playground. I don't have time to take care of him."

"What do you mean?" ask Grandpa Sean.

"She doesn't even have the qualifications to be an Office Girl in my office. How could Grandpa tell me to find a position that would be right for him in my office?" Does Grandpa want to destroy my company?"

Claire raised one corner of her lips when she heard Sean underestimated her. Sean didn't even give himself a chance to prove his worth. The demeaning attitude shown by Sean actually makes Claire feel challenged to silence her arrogance.

"I will follow the selection just like any other employee. I'll enter with my own abilities. You take it easy, I won't go in with anyone's help" Claire said with a confident face.

Sean snorted coldly with a sneering face. "Not only cheap, it turns out you're also thick-faced."

Grandpa Sean was angry to hear his grandson's words. "Sean, watch your talk. I told you Claire was a good woman."

When Sean's mother was about to chim in on his father-in-law's words, Claire spoke first.

"Grandfather, stop. I'm okay," Claire told Sean's grandfather.

Claire then turned to look at Sean. "Give me a chance to go through the selection. If I don't pass this selection, I'm willing to withdraw from this matchmaking."

Everyone at the dinner table was surprised by Claire's words. Such an equivalence would of course benefit Sean if Claire did not pass the selection.

"All right."

"Claire, grandfather doesn't agree," said Grandpa Sean.

"Grandfather, trust me. I won't let you down."

After eating, Sean and Claire climb upstairs together. Claire's room was only 3 rooms away from Sean's room. When Sean arrives in front of his room, he suddenly pulls Claire into his room and corners her on the wall and cages her with both hands resting on the wall.

For a moment Claire looked dazed with Sean's sudden movements. "What is your purpose in coming into my family?" Sean looked at Claire from a close distance.

Although Claire was surprised, but she still looked calm. He raised his head boldly and looked at Sean's black eyes.

"I should have asked your grandfather because he was the one who arranged all this. I'm just following your grandfather's wishes."

"I know you're not that simple. I'm sure you have a certain motive and purpose for me. You might be able to fool my grandfather, but not me." Sean then smiled obliquely, "the girl from the village .. You think, I believe in that? Seeing you in town A back then, doesn't show that you're from the village."

Claire unconsciously swallowed her saliva. He had forgotten that Sean had seen his true appearance while in the city of A.

"Mr Sean .. I think I need to straighten something out on you. I come from a remote village south of town A. Because I live in a village so I decided to go to A and work there. That's why you saw me in town A at the time."

Sean was still staring at Claire with his black eyes. Claire felt that Sean was reading her mind. "How do you explain the fancy stuff you were wearing back then?"

Seeing Claire speechless, something suddenly flashed through Sean's mind. "You don't need to explain anymore, I already know the answer, a woman like you would certainly love to find a shortcut." Sean smiled mockingly and then distanced his body from Claire.

Claire frowned because she did not understand Sean's intentions. For a moment he stared in confusion at Sean. Claire hasn't spoken yet, Sean's back he's opening his voice.

"Get out."

Sean's mother looked at Claire from head to toe. He was even speechless when he saw the appearance of Claire who was already wearing work clothes. The appearance that Sean's mother thinks is very clumsy and outdated.

In fact, Sean's mother can see that Claire has a pretty face, even too pretty for the size of the girl from the village so she feels that Claire can look better than her current appearance.

Because Sean's mother didn't want to bother, she ignored Claire's appearance and chose to walk towards the dining table ahead of her. Before leaving for the office Claire and Sean have breakfast together with Sam's grandfather and Sean's mother.

"Sean, let Claire come with you to the office. He doesn't know the city yet so let him come with you today" Grandpa Sean said after he finished his breakfast.

Sean stared lazily at Claire for a while then turned to look at his grandfather. "Take the driver to drive her. I don't want to stir up bad rumors in the office if anyone sees me leaving together with him," Sean refused with an indifferent face.

"Do you want to make Grandpa die quickly? Why do you always deny Grandpa's orders?"

Before they argued again, Sean's mother opened her mouth. "Sean, follow your grandfather's request. You can drop Claire down near your office so no one sees her leaving with her" Sean's mother suggested.

Claire then spoke up. "Let me take Grandpa's cab if Sean won't go with me."

"You can't take a taxi. It's too dangerous for you, let alone you not know this town." Sean's grandfather turned to look at his grandson, "going with Claire if you still want to be part of the Louris family" Sean's grandfather threatened.

Sean's face hardened, there was a flash of anger in the look in his eyes. Sean used to hate being forced. Since Claire's arrival, her grandfather has always forced her to do things she doesn't like and that makes Sean even more upset.

"Curry with me. I don't want to be late because of you." Sean stood up after glaring at Claire.

During the journey, not a single word came out of the mouths of the two of them. They are both busy with their own thoughts. The atmosphere in the car was silent until a voice came from Sean's mouth.

"Tell me, how much do you want you to call off this match? Just tell me, I'll give you whatever you want."

Claire looked at Sean with her calm face. "I don't want your money and I'm not interested in your property either." Claire turned her eyes back out the window after she finished answering Sean's question.

Sean sneered with a mocking smile. "Don't act like an honorable woman. I know women like you really like money." Sean threw a blank check into Claire's lap.

"Rethink my offer. I'll give you until the afternoon to think. You better fill that check with the amount you want and then disappear from my life."

Claire felt extremely humiliated by Sean's speech and treatment. All this time, there had never been a man who demeaned her like that.

In a quick motion, Claire took the check and tore it in front of Sean and said, "What would I do if I could get you. By marrying you, I'll get more money" Claire said, "and again, what I want is not only your money, but yours."

Because Sean had judged himself as a greedy woman for money, there is no meaning anymore he denied Sean's remarks. It's free for him to explain it because Sean won't believe him.

Money and me? What exactly is in this woman's head?

Sean's face hardened, his eyes radiating an endless cold aura. Sean recalls what Claire said when she was drunk, saying that she would look for a man who exceeded her ex-lover to make him regret for betraying her.

"So you want to use me to take revenge on your beloved who dumped you?"

At first Claire was just the origin of talking because she felt angry when Sean humbled her. Unexpectedly by Claire, Sean actually misinterpreted his words. "It's up to you to think what." Claire's mood takes a turn for the worse after Sean offends her ex-boyfriend Wild.

Sean again misinterpreted Claire's answer. She thought Claire had indeed deliberately approached her to avenge her heartache towards Wild by marrying her in order for Wild to feel the heartache she felt when she was dumped by him.

Sean then asked his assistant to stop his car. "Down" Sean commanded with a heavy voice and a cold look in the eyes.

"I don't want to" Claire refused.

"You want to go down by yourself or I tell Ken to drag you out?"

Claire looked annoyed at Sean. "Someday you'll regret treating me like this."

"Get out."

Claire opened the door and closed it hard. He cursed Sean after seeing his car move away and had already abandoned him.

I will bring you to my knees until one day you will not part with me and regret for rejecting me.
