Mr. Mafia and His Little Maid
A Choice
Nara told me about the man who contacted her and she told Leo.
"Do you recognize his voice?"
"I don't recognize his voice, dear."
"What did he say to you?"
"He said he could free you from me-." Nara fell silent not continuing her words.
"What are you for?" Jaden looked suspiciously at his wife. "Nara, don't hide anything from me." Jaden held Nara's hand and looked at his wife seriously.
"He can set you free as long as I go away from your life forever."
"What's? Goddamn bum! I'll finish if I know who that guy is" Jaden's hand clenched tightly.
"You don't have to think about it, I won't do it." Nara tries to calm Jaden down.
"Yes, Jaden. Grandma believes that Nara won't listen to the mysterious man's words and Leo will soon get you out of this place."
"I know that, Grandma." Jaden hugged Nara and kissed his wife's forehead.
Nara was there until visiting hours were up. They have to go back to their place.
A few days passed and arrived at the trial. It turned out that the family of the man who died in the prison gave witness if they had ever heard her husband talking to someone and called her Jaden Luther. Even the man's wife yelled angrily at Jaden because she had already killed her husband.
There also Nara's aunt and uncle blame Jaden for telling people to kill her daughter.
The trial was postponed due to a commotion inside.
"Mas Leo, how is this? Will my husband not be freed?" Nara asked worriedly.
"Too much evidence and witnesses incriminating Mr. Jaden Nara. I myself have not found anything that can help us" said Leo sadly.
Miranti's grandmother who was there immediately sat down and held her painful chest.
"Mom, is Grandma okay?" Nara and Leo both asked worriedly.
The old woman did not reply, only gesturing through her head.
"Mas Leo, take me to Doctor Will's hospital. Grandma needs to be dealt with immediately. I don't want to let Grandma do anything."
"Grandma's okay, Nara."
"Don't talk like that, Grandma. Grandma's face was pale. It's Leo!" shout Nara.
"Yes, Nara, I'm calling Will's doctor." Leo, unable to reach Will because of his busy call, immediately carries Grandma's body into his car.
In the car Grandma collapsed, of course it made Nara more anxious.
Leo immediately drove the car rather quickly to get to the hospital. Once there the grandmother was immediately taken to the ER. Will who saw Nara immediately ran after Nara.
"Nara, what's wrong?"
"Doctor Will looks like Grandma's heart is back in pain."
"Oh God! Then, what about today's trial?"
"I'm sorry I wasn't able to accompany you there just now because there's a patient I have to deal with."
"It's okay, Doctor Will. I know the doctor's job is also very important to help someone's life."
They waited outside the room where Grandma was being examined. Not long the beautiful doctor who handled Grandma all this time came out of the room with a face that Nara knew there would be bad news to be conveyed.
"Dok Areta, what about my grandmother?"
"Nara, grandma's condition is not good. He's in a coma."
"What?" The three of them looked surprised.
"Areta, then what's next?" ask Will.
"I will continue to monitor his progress. Hopefully this situation will be resolved soon. Grandma was in great shock and until she was unconscious like this. If he hadn't come to his senses in a few days, maybe we'd have lost him for good."
"No, grandma can't go. Grandma probably thought my husband wouldn't be free. Grandma loved my husband very much." Nara's body sagged to the floor and she cried loudly. Doctor Areta who was there immediately hugged Nara.
"Leo, you have to tell Jaden about this matter. I'll be there to visit Jaden."
Tonight Nara spent the night in the hospital waiting for Grandma. Nara stood in front of a large glass window where she could see the grandmother from behind the large glass. Nara was seen dripping her eyes looking at the body of the grandmother who was full of medical devices stuck on her body.
"Why is grandma like this? I don't know who to complain to about what I'm feeling right now?"
Nara herself was there because Leo was still at Jaden's place to talk about the matter. Will's doctor, who is not on duty, goes with Leo.
Nara's phone rang soon and again there was no caller number there.
"Hello," said Nara hoarse because of crying.
"Hello, Nara. How about going through your days unaccompanied by the man you love so much?"
"Whatdoyouwant? Why are you so evil like this? My grandmother's in a coma and it's all your fault!" Nara shouted furiously on the phone.
"It's all your mafia husband's fault, but I'm not stupid to find a way to make him suffer."
"Stop all this. Free my husband from all charges he never made."
"I gave you a good offer at that time and you didn't accept it, yes I'm going to make your husband suffer even more, even I have evidence that really makes your husband rot in prison."
"What do you mean?"
"There was a letter Mona wrote before she died. Where he wrote that if he was ever threatened by one of Jaden Luther's men would be killed, and Mona was frightened and wrote the letter. What if the letter reaches the police. Jaden's done, Nara." The man laughed loudly on the phone.
Nara grew even more poignant listening to what the man said. "Are you going to make Jaden free if I leave Jaden for good?" Nara said that with trembling lips.
"Of course, Nara. I'll make your husband free of the charges."
"Give me some time, I'm asking you to help." Nara crying.
"Time? I can give you time, but the trial is not Nara."
Nara looked silent for a moment and thought of something. Nara looked at the grandmother lying in her place. Maybe Grandma's life will be saved if Jaden can meet her here. Grandma wants her favorite granddaughter.
"Think about it until Nara's tomorrow, but I suggest making a decision sooner because it might be good for Jaden and your grandmother." The man turned off his call.
