Maple High School Academy Hidden Year 1
The Vow in Ginkgo Forest - First Hug

First Hug

Chalia and Thedon finally followed the Dwarves. Based on the scent trail, the Dwarf ran towards the Ginkgo Forest. While Chalia was still focusing on her sense of smell, Thedon felt a strange wind directional movement. He stopped and pulled Chalia straight away as a trap was lifted up.

They both realized the Dwarves had already set up some traps to slow them down. Armed with Chalia's supersense abilities, all of the traps are tricked and the two can survive until they find a cave covered by vines.

Feeling cornered, the Dwarves attacked blindly. However, Thedon managed to defeat the three using the traps they created. The three Dwarves no one wanted to say anything about the stolen books. They blame each other. It even offered deals to Thedon and Chalia. The two students begin to feel their efforts are in vain, as Chalia sees something glittering over one of the tops of a ginkgo tree.

Thedon called his contract animal, a Philipine Eagle. He asked for help from the sky. While waiting for the report from the eagle, Thedon and Chalia just stared around them. Only then did they realize the beauty of the Ginko Forest around them. A Dwarf said, the two students were very brave to come to Ginkgo Forest just two. Suddenly the wind blew and yellow ginko leaves fell on Thedon and Chalia.

Ginkgo Forest's. A place not far from the academy. This place is also one of the classroom arenas or gathering places for several student clubs. This ever-yellow forest makes the students always admire it.

Except for Chalia, thought Thedon.

The tall man was now following the excited Chalia stepping into the Ginkgo Forest. He could only frown at the sight of the small step moving lightly. “You are sure they are here?”

“Yakinu. I can't possibly be wrong following.”

“Where can you know?”

“Bau them.”

Thedon took a long breath. He was wrong to talk to the woman in front of him. The woman will not answer when she is serious. Especially when using their power.

“Why should you come here, try?”

Chalia looked and snorted. “It looks like you forgot an old saying.”

“What?”

“That the best hiding place is in an unexpected place, for example this Ginkgo Forest.”

Thedon shook his head. When Amara and Venalu were fascinated by this forest, Chalia looked at this forest with horror.

“Why did you see Ginkgo Forest like that?”

“Because a place as beautiful as this can hide many scary things.”

Thedon rolled his eyes. He regretted thinking Chalia was different. “You also admire this forest?”

“Of course. It's a beautiful forest. However, now ...” Chalia shuddered to herself. “Already, we'd better get in. Somehow I feel insecure.” Chalia walked fast. The horse-tailed elf started to get uncomfortable. Whether because she was injured or indeed the Dwarves were able to hide themselves well, the woman had difficulty recognizing the smell that was guiding them.

Thedon, who was aware of Chalia's behavior, approached her. “You all right?”

Chalia shakes. He stood still while shivering. His nose could not recognize the smell in the forest. He turned to focus his ears.

Meanwhile, Thedon heard the whirring of strange moving air. Her reflexes grabbed Chalia's waist and jumped high onto one of the branches of the ginkgo tree. A trap moved upwards, a kind of snare to the forest beast.

“What is it?” Chalia who was embracing the nape of Thedon asked while whispering.

“Trap.” Thedon spread his gaze. “And it doesn't seem like just one.”

“What?”

Chalia's cry was right in her ear, causing Thedon to turn her head away and stare at Chalia. He sewed himself because the girl was shouting instead. However, he regretted his actions. Chalia and Thedon now looked at each other with a mutual embrace.

“Eh ..” Chalia sontak let go of her embrace. He moved backwards and his legs could not stand perfectly because both of them were on the branch.

“Wuah, aren't we on a pretty high branch. Can you jump this high?” chalia asked as she lowered her head and looked down.

Without answering, Thedon simply twisted his wrist. A small wind vortex appeared in his palm. Chalia was amazed to see the wind whirlwind thinning and missing it.

“If you are done admiring, can you help me?”

Chalia blinked her eyes. He was ashamed of being discovered just admiring the power of Thedon. “What help?”

“I'm sure, the trap is not only made one. Can you help me make sure of that.” Thedon pointed at some distance. “There. Over there. And there.”

Chalia stared at the direction Thedon pointed. Closed in leafy ginkgo leaves, his eyes can see a hanging trap ready to be dropped. The girl realized the trap. Chalia turned her gaze towards the direction Thedon pointed next, a large piece of wood seemed ready to hit them.

“Yep. The first two exist. However, one more ... I'm not sure,” Chalia said as she stared at Thedon.

“Any. I can feel the air movement at the end there is unstable.”

“Do you know where we are next to Ginkgo Forest?” ask Chalia.

Thedon who heard the question also gave a glance. He was as foreign as this forest. Although it is undeniable, it is still part of the Ginkgo Forest. “It looks like this is far from the academy,” Thedon said.

Red suddenly barked, making Chalia and Thedon both bow. The red-furred fox seemed to be jumping up and down. “She asked us to come down,” explained Chalia.

“You can get off by yourself?”

Chalia looked at Thedon. “You challenged me?”

Thedon just shrugged his shoulders.

“Watch this!”

Chalia immediately jumped down. His hand reached one of the nearest branches. He got up and slid back down. His small body moved agilely from one branch to another until it finally landed smoothly on the ground.

Before long, Thedon also set foot next to Chalia. He landed smooth right next to Red. The red-furred fox barked lightly at Thedon.

“He salutes your smooth landing,” explains Chalia.

Thedon simply raised his right eyebrow and smiled obliquely.

Bah, just praised that much already feel ge-er.

Chalia just put an index finger on her lips.  Don't noise. What's calling us?

Up ahead is a hidden secret cave.

“What?” chalia asked half a scream.

“Ssst .. don't be noisy,” by Thedon. He looked at Chalia and Red alternately.

“But Red said ...” Chalia pointed at Red who was still wagging her tail.

“What?”

“There is a secret cave at the end there.”

“Where?”

“Place you said the air movement is unstable.”
