Maple High School Academy Hidden Year 1
Levi Strauss and the Journey to the North - West - Golden Chariot But Its Dark

Golden Chariot But Its Dark

GINKGO FOREST AT night is pretty awesome. There are many fireflies scattered in space. The light becomes more beautiful when it comes in contact with the full moon. Levi had heard the ravings of Habibie that this forest stores beautiful creatures. He was eager to see the unicorn and examine its horns. There's also that yellow ginkgo leaf. Levi never believed the leaf could induce love just because two human pairs came to him. Sounds more like a lowly superstition. And that's disgusting. “Hm, but it does not rule out the possibility that the leaves have certain content that can stimulate a person's hormones. Next time I'll take a sample of that leaf and research it. Who knows, Lily will fall in love with me. Hahaha—ARGH! SHIT!”

Levi accidentally dropped a large bag that directly hit his leg. He cursed while grimacing and kicked the thing violently. In that instant, Levi regretted bringing a lot of things for the trip. In fact, he was not particularly interested in following this journey, but since Lord Betelgeuse made such a tempting offer, he finally agreed. The man also said his name could be cleared.

In the end, Levi found the figure of the Lord of Darkness standing at the end of the Ginkgo Forest leading to the lake. He looked down at his reflection with a smile. Back then, Levi was completely unnerved by the appearance of the Lord of Darkness bathed in moonlight. Looks charming. “You were a long time ago, boy. Don't tell me if you need to do makeup first,” he said aware of Levi's presence.

“Dih. How unfortunate. I'm not Addsion! The kid who likes to dress up.” Levi refuted.

“Addison? Your girlfriend, huh?”

Levi instantly roared furiously. Of course he did not accept the ridiculous question. Lord Betelgeuse just laughed crisply. The corner of his eye found Levi's innumerable innate and immediately patted the eel and shook his head. “Why bring a lot of stuff, Levi Strauss? We will not do camping. Geez! Separate the useless things. Never add to the load on the way, Nak.”

Like a child who had just been scolded by his father, Levi frowned while taking out things in a carry-on bag. He chose useful items with a frown while muttering indistinctly. The boy then looked at the shoulder of Lord Betelgeuse whose field was long. It felt like he was eager to kidnap and make the lord an object of research. Fuck this trip. If he succeeds in injecting this high-dose anaesthetic that he is holding onto Lord Betelgeuse's neck. Levi smirked very wide. He stood up slowly and walked without making a loud noise.

“Already done—“

Unfinished Lord Betelgeuse spoke, a syringe landed smoothly on his nape. He was shocked when he found Levi who laughed with satisfaction. A few seconds later, Lord Betelgeuse fell to the ground. “Cih! Even sleeping conditions you can still look stunning,” said Levi grumbled. He checked the situation of Lord Betelgeuse who fainted. “However, take it easy, Lord. After this you will always fall asleep handsomely in my tab. Ah, what fun!”

“I've guessed it turns out you're a true fan of mine.”

“Rightly begi—what?”

Levi immediately turned around and found the figure of Lord Betelgeuse standing with his hands folded to his chest. The figure was smiling gently. There was an aura of darkness overflowing around him. Horrifically. The panicked Levi immediately gulped and looked at the body that had fallen down earlier. Miraculously, the body turned into smoke. Levi rubbed his eyes to make sure that he was not exposed to the hallucinatory mushroom powder. However, the smoke was now billowing and forming a face that was sneering at him.

“A-I can explain .…”

“Uluh-ten, no need boy,” reply Lord Betelgeuse. He looked down at Levi who was sitting down and lifted the chin of the boy who was laughing nervously. “I warn ya, Levi Strauss. Don't ever repeat it again or you'll feel how scared the darkness is.”

“B-alright, lord.”

Lord Betelgeuse's eyes were closed and curved down like a smile. “Rise, Son. We'll go right now.”

“We will not use the portal because it is ancient and seems boring,” he explained. “I've brought a more interesting vehicle.”

Not long after, from within the lake something just rippled. Increasingly, the ripples rose and revealed a hidden object. Levi was surprised that there was a carriage stored in there. Antique and dark colored car. There were white engravings on each side of the chariot's body. “I didn't see the horse.

Once again Lord Betelgeuse laughed mockingly. He flicked his finger and from the front appeared five black scaly boa snakes with white horns. The snakes had a long iron connected to the body of the carriage. “This will be his horse.”

Instead of being afraid, Levi was even more amazed by the presence of the snake. It felt like he wanted to hold onto the slippery skin of the animal and the obsession with researching it was blowing back. “Originally you know, these snakes are females. They like young men as food,” explained Lord Betelgeuse as he walked into the body of the carriage.

“Eh?”  Levi sculpted for a moment. Suddenly he thought that he was not currently with a Fallen Angel, but a grim reaper.

“You made me think of my sister first.” Lord Betelgeuse spoke up. Right now, he was sitting elegantly while sipping black tea. His sharp eyes did not escape watching Levi's movements like hot worms beside him. Never be silent.

“I'm sure your sister must not be as cool as me. Yes, right lord?”

“A little above you, anyway. In the past he could only growl and destroy furniture,” continued Lord Betelgeuse. “Now fortunately can be a pretty useful person. He's at your school now.”

“Oh.”

“One thing that equates you with her is madness. Your insanity really reminds me of the past.”

Levi just grinned while scratching his back head. At this moment he was thinking, whether the words included praise or even insults. Since Lord Betelgeuse did not laugh, he took it as a compliment. Levi turned to the window of the carriage and looked at the dark sea water. He put his right hand against the window. “How long will we be until?”

“Evennight to.”

Levi grimacing. His shoulders are down. “Sial! Would be bored. If only I had brought my chemical equipment or robot machine.”

“You can sleep, son. After this journey we will be more tiring,” said Lord Betelgeuse. Now he switched to activating a rectangular electronic object. “Or you can play this game with me. Excited, you know, I'm already level 135.”

Levi gawked at Lord Betelgeuse whose face was now reflected by the light from the electronic device. “Even you have gamebot?”

“Of course,” reply without looking at Levi. His eyes were struggling with something inside the screen. Sounds familiar backsound as in most games he has played before. “However, this is for me only. You think sitting on a throne all day makes you feel at home? Not at all.”

Levi ruffled his waist while grinning the horse. Lord Betelgeuse, what an interesting man.
