Maple High School Academy Hidden Year 1
The Vision from the Sky - Smoke

Smokes

“HE SAID THE ANIMAL went crazy for spitting on Lily's hair!” Thedon told me in a booming voice until the birds were not at home perched on the trees. In one of the parks in Maple Academy, Thedon was waiting for Shalima's massage. As usual, the girl was accompanied by her two bodyguards, Amara and Valfred.

“Same crazy when you see Baskara and Chalia who look familiar?” valfred Goda. He was also in the lobby of the fantasy dorm when Ashlen Winter and several other Class 2 students discussed the crazy animal gossip at Maple Academy. “I guess you didn't listen to Ashlen because you were busy glaring at Chalia. I'm afraid your two eyeballs are rolling on the floor.”

There was a sound of vomiting from Venalu Vexalim whose neck was being massaged by Shalima. However, nothing came out of his mouth. Shal looked at Valfred sharply, gesturing him to stop saying such disgusting things.

Venalu complains of frequent migraines. No wonder, anyway. Who wouldn't have a headache watching Lily James every day? Shalima still remembers the time when she was all-out nagging the red-haired girl for making a fantasy dormitory point of minus 50, even before the new school year began. It's okay to make trouble, but don't make other people lose, dong!

“You should have glazed earlier. I almost put a jar under your mouth. Your saliva, can it be controlled at the sight of a human child?” Amara patted the shoulder of Venalu, her cousin, while commenting coldly.

Valfred let out his wolf growl. He did not like Amara calling Elle, who had passed through the lobby, called “anak man”. The thing is, his tone of speech was cynically correct.

“Why indeed with a human child? Not noble enough compared to an Elf noble daughter like you?” valfred's Syndicate. Amara was silent for a moment. Suddenly flames of anger lit up in both irises of his eyes. The girl flicked her long hair before leaving in front of them. Typical of the noble princess when demeaning someone.

Shalima rubbed Venalu's head while looking at Amara's distant figure. He remembered one of the hopes he whispered to the fireflies.

“I hope to be friends with Amara and Valfred forever.”

At least tonight they've made up. Amara and Valfred do like to fight, but never angry until drawn out.

Shalima regrets believing in the fireflies. What is a friend forever? Just because of the insinuations about “anak man” the other day, the friendship of Shal-Amara-Valfred is now like a horn.

Amara and Valfred have been keeping their distance for a week. Valvred spends his time training physically with the werewolves and comes closer to Elle. On the other hand, Amara was busy chatting with several other students and focused on practicing lira to fill the Autumn Festival which is still held later in the year. That's why Shalima felt left alone.

From the beginning, the girl was shy. Now, he increasingly did not dare to look at people's faces, let alone invite them to have a conversation. The girl knew she had been branded ferociously by a Maple Academy student for scolding Lily about the minus boarding points. At that time, he was actually panicking. It was his first day in charge of being the vice prefect of the fantasy dorm officially, but he already felt like a failure.

Shal felt no need to talk to many people. Being friends with Amara and Valfred is enough. However, when the two friends were fighting and had their respective activities, Shal felt very lonely.

This is the umpteenth time he ate without his two best friends. Shal bites off the snail of his chickpeas unhurriedly while watching Zovras play with a moon rabbit.

I hope you're here, Male.

He remembered his best friend, Malechite. Where is the green lizard now? Does he eat regularly? If he were here now, would he like chickpeas?

Come, Male. I don't mind sharing a chickpea with you.

As before, there was no reply from Malechite. This is another proof that fireflies hope nothing more than voracious insects that like fire flower nectar. The charred body of the insect will not bring it together with Malechite.

Shal buried his head on the table while ruffling his hair. He did not care as his scalp thrashed and his entire body warned him to calm down.

Healing to the soul is indeed the most difficult. Wounds can be seen, the body can—suran—healed. However, when the soul is damaged, Shal still does not know how to directly recover it.

Male! I really need you!

The sound of the alarm bell broke the silence of the night.

“Fantasy hostel attacked! Prepare to fight!” The old clock in the gathering room of the fantasy dormitory shouted alerting the residents of the dormitory.

All the students of the fantasy dormitory scattered outside the dormitory. They had indeed been trained on protocol when there was an attack in the dormitory. However, when it really happened— where previously they thought would never happen—they were still upset. Who could have calmed down if it had all suddenly become dark because the terrifying black smoke had already filled all the space?

Outside the dormitory, the disciples were already preparing for the attack. Some Fallen Angels swiftly implement the protocol to deal with the attack by air. Shalima saw a black-winged Fallen Angel flying around the sky, then touched the pitch-black smoke that was like swallowing the entire dormitory. For Shal, it's all like a dream. Don't you think it's a hallucination of smoke?

Shortly thereafter, the Fallen Angel reported to Samael and Mr. Navarro just arrived. They talked for a while in the air. After that, Samael and Mr. Navarro flew low, while the entire Fallen Angel landed to listen to what their teacher was about to say.

The body of the once tense fantasy dorm student instantly softened. Samael has said that the black smoke that filled their dormitory is not something to worry about, although it will be a little troublesome.

“A reckless person may have cast a spell wrong. He chalked up the summoning charm to the black smoke, which was similar to a spell to invite nightmares or pet contracts. Whoever he is, I hope to report immediately to account for his actions,” said Samael.

Several disciples simultaneously glanced towards Lily and Maya who were famous for causing chaos.

“I swear, it's not me!” shout them at the same time.

Samael then withdrew to invite Mr. Navarro speaking.

“For tonight all residents of fantasy dorm will sleep in the hall. Miss Naina will guide you according to protocol. You will also help the house fairies prepare the bed. I hope tomorrow this hostel is smoke-free, but if not, maybe you will sleep in the hall for two nights.”

Some of the disciples groaned dislikefully, but all of them still obeyed the orders of the Principal. The residents of the fantasy dormitory walked towards the hall regularly, except for Shalima who was sweating in the cold night air. It felt like the girl was stepping boldly, but her legs were like they were glued to the ground. Shal could only stare at her feet wrapped in sleeping sandals.

“Murid exemplars are already smart to make a fuss now, huh?” A voice scorned him. The scorn is so real that Shalima realized this is not a dream. Slowly, Shal raised his head and looked at the Fallen Angel male standing before him wearing a pajama.

“Come, I'll accompany you to Samael!”

With gontai steps, Shalima walked towards the hall.

“Why can you be here?” shalima asked the Fallen Angel who was walking beside her.

“Even say thank you just no. In addition to learning to make trouble, you also have lost your manners apparently.”

Shalima breathed heavily. If the one in front of him was another man, Shalima must have hit the edge of the man's neck so that he was in pain and deterred. However, the one in front of him was Thann Iziah!

“Tonight is heavy. A little empathy is enough, if indeed you do not want to answer my question.”

They walked back in silence.

“I became a student at Maple Academy,” Thann said after the hall door became visible.

“Oh, how can you?” ask Shal in astonishment. Shalima had already checked the class 2 student rosters many times, but Thann Iziah's name wasn't there. Thedon had thought Shal had a mental disorder until finally Amara told him that Shal had a friend Fallen Angel who—who knew— entered Maple Academy because he was smart.

A second later, the remark was instantly regretted, “Ah, yes. You're being smart. What the hell can't you do?”

Although it sounds like insinuation, actually Shal sincerely said it. The man could even tell that he was the one who had said the summoning charm of the black cloud—which for the sake of the snake belonging to Aesculapius actually pronounced him to call Malechite. After Shalima was sentenced not to follow the lessons of tomorrow to eliminate smoke, Thann also proposed to borrow a smoke inhaler made by a sci-fi child. The device was modified to suck the red ash of Levi. The black smoke in the fantasy dormitory was indeed too dense and vast that it could not be directly eliminated by the wind spell.

“Of course. Hence, learn right!” thann said haughtily while tapping Shal's forehead with his index finger three times. So, who has lost his real manners?

Thann opened the hall door. There was a magic wall that separated the bed area of students and students. The lights in the room were already dark and the bodies of the disciples were already motionless on the neatly lined floor mattresses. They were exhausted from having to prepare a bed in the middle of the night.

“Good sleep, Troublemaker!” thann said as he passed.

Here's more evidence that the fireflies of hope are not that magical. What was so charming about when she met Thann?

From far away Shal could see an empty bed beside Amara's bed. She believes her best friend must have helped the house fairy to prepare the bed. Carefully, Shal laid his body down and stared at the ceiling of the hall full of colorful glass.

Samael loudly rebuked Shalima who was too rash to try a new summoning charm, when Shal knew he was not good at spells. Actually, summoning charm for pet contract is not too difficult, but Samael regretted Shal who did not consult with him first. Evidently, the summoning charm that is easy to make is a disaster!

The fierce Vice Prefect of Fantasy Dormitory managed to fill his dormitory with black smoke, making the dormitory dwellers sleep in the hall, and deduct another 50 points for his dormitory. Less perfect what?

“May make trouble, but do not make others lose, dong!”

There was a whisper that Shal knew was coming from Lily James' bed.
