Stone
FLYBOARD NAVIGATION SCREEN shows Shalima is already at an altitude of 20 meters above ground level. From a distance, Shal can see a building with the tallest tower on Maple Island, which is at the top of Stars Hill. The Stars Hill Observatory and Planetarium is called SHOP.
After drawing some of Shalima's dreams, Zovras felt the rocks Shal saw in his dream resembled asteroid shards. They felt it would be helpful to look at the stone directly. Finally, Zovras and Shalima set up a plan so that Shal could go to SHOP to see the asteroid shards that were there. The stone is safe to see because it is already in neutral condition.
Zovras made a request for help on Sunday to assist the Astronomy Club. Usually, assignments like this are aimed at students in punishment. Levi and Lily are also on the list. However, Lily is already busy with the animal enclosure and Levi is not recommended because he had a feud with Four, one of the Astronomy Club's mentors. Finally, Miss Elafir and Miss Naina agreed to give this task to Shalima.
Zovras turned his head towards Shalima and smiled seeing the girl's eyes twinkling. At the very least, their visit to SHOP could be a little comforting for Shal who last night returned to having nightmares. In his dream last night, Shalima felt like he was on the back of a dragon named Porsesa flying over the volcano area. The dragon then dived sharply and then entered the crater of the turbulent volcano. The girl had thought that Dragons of Porsisa held a grudge against her to the point of constantly slamming her through dreams.
Finally, the group arrived at the Stars Hill Observatory and Planetarium building, which is said to have an intricate curvature design of the geometry of the cosmos. However, from a height though, what Shalima saw was a magnificent and modern building dominated by white. Well, if he understands the cosmos, surely since the first year has entered the sci-fi dormitory and Astronomy Club.
“This is Risus, a specially assigned staff helping the Astronomy Club when it comes to SHOP.” Bialaer introduced the dwarves who greeted them at the front door to Shalima. The man's dwarf was wearing a white uniform with the SHOP logo on his left chest and an official identification tag hanging around his neck.
The Astronomy Club is the only club that has the exclusive right to go to Stars Hill for club activities. The club is also the only one to have two chairmen and two responsible for being divided into two, namely Astronomy-Astrology and Astronomy-Cosmology. The person in charge of the Astronomy-Astrology Club is Bialaer Farohyra, the Wizard who is also the Astrology teacher. While the person in charge of the Astronomy-Cosmology Club is the Four who are from the alien race. Four is also the Cosmology teacher and the person in charge of the Robotic Club.
While walking following Risus, Shalima whispered to Zovras, “You already have special help apparently. Then, why are Four and Bialaer still letting me come?”
“It's okay, kok,” reply Dmitri Mendeleev, a sci-fi student who is the chairman of the Astronomy-Cosmology Club. “I've been bored since the first year of activities with guys. Once in a while there were stars in the dark sky nice too. Origin according to the initial agreement, yes!” Dmitri absolutely does not let Zovras reply to Shal's question.
”Ready!” exclaims Shal. The girl had indeed promised Dmitri to obey her during her time at Stars Hill.
Each month, SHOP sends a report on the movement of celestial bodies to Four and Bialaer. This is done to keep an eye out for unusual or suspicious things, especially about asteroids that are predicted to come again to hit the world. Both teachers are obliged to report to Mr. Navarro every three months, unless there's an urgent. This year, Mr. Navarro asked that the report be made more interesting because it will be seen also by the students. Dmitri proposed making a video on Stars Hill, with a form of roleplay ala presenter weather forecast in the human world.
”Your costume has been prepared inside.” Risus showed a room to Shalima politely.
”Costable?” Shalima frowned.
Dmitri smiled cunningly, ”You don't know your duty yet, huh?”
”Roll up cable, ’kan?”
Of course Bialaer and Four wouldn't let Shalima come to Stars Hill just rolling the cable. Someone has to do ”gross work” and that's Shalima. With a face poking out from behind a padded ball costume, Shal became a ” creative picture” asteroid as Four and Bialaer reported the movement of celestial bodies the past three months. Shal felt so stupid. Either ”creative nickname” what else he will get after the video was watched throughout Maple Academy.
The misfortune doesn't stop there. When Shal saw the asteroid shards on display in the planetarium, nothing happened. In fact, he wished there were additional clues he could get. Now Shal even fears himself because suddenly dreaming of asteroid shards.
Zovras tries to improve Shalima's mood by taking the girl around. Dmitri and Risus are busy editing the video, while the teachers chat casually with Mr. Najma Venmaris, the SHOP director and twin brother of their Mythology teacher.
”Dmitri won't allow me to interfere with the script. I also just found out about that asteroid costume, Shal.” Zovras explained as he placed a grass mat in the middle of the planetarium.
”How, yes?” Shal pretended to be angry, even though his heart had melted since being invited to walk around SHOP. ”I'll forgive you if what we did after this is really cool.”
Zovras said there are cool things that can only be done on Sundays by SHOP officers. However, because Zovras has been licensed to be a tour guide and SHOP operator, Shalima can also feel the privilege.
”OK! Challenge accepted!” zovras was full of confidence.
They lay on grass mats and looked at the ceiling of the planetarium. Zovras pressed something on his license card, then pressed some virtual buttons in the air. The lights instantly dimmed and the ceiling of the planetarium turned into a picture of the night sky. It's similar to the one in the Maple Academy planetarium, but bigger and!
”SHOP has a super advanced telescope with excellent imaging results and recording quality. I'll play one of the most beautiful recordings.”
Shal focused on looking at the starry night sky. A short time later a star moved quickly and left a trail of light behind it. Zovras turned a virtual button again and now it felt like they were getting closer to the sky. Before long, more and more stars were moving fast and leaving a trail of light. Some are white, yellow, green, and blue. Shal's chest is pounding.
”You are witnessing an astronomical phenomenon that occurs when the earth crosses paths with a large number of celestial bodies.”
Shal smiled faintly hearing Zovras explain like a tour guide.
”Built rock dust ma—”
Zovras' words were interrupted when he realized Shal had looked at him with a funny look while smiling.
Zovras replied with his trademark smile, ”As you wish, Shal.”
”So, I've been forgiven, yes?” ask Zovras.
The view of the meteor shower has ended, but Shal is still reluctant to move from the star-studded night sky he sees today.
”Sure!” shal replied as he looked at Zovras who was lying next to him. Now Shal only realized that the distance between them might be too close. The girl immediately stared at the ceiling of the planetarium again, ”You should thank these stars! Uh, meteor, I mean.”
Zovras chuckled, ”I'm always amazed to see someone like you. Always excited, even in class though.”
”I'm not smart. Hence, I had to put in extra effort in class,” Shal replied. In his heart, he was actually shouting out loud to his heart to beat steady.
His heart even back nagging, Blame the adrenaline and norepinephrine, dong! After all, admit that you also enjoyed this moment!
”You always look enthusiastic. I'm looking for a lot of activities to enjoy school. However, just by massaging the students for free, you are already beaming.”
”Maybe I'm easy to please,” Shal said. The girl was busy balancing the levels of the hormone adrenaline in her blood.
”Can be. I don't really like being a member prefect. That kind of thing is too serious for me. However, seeing that you were excited about trying new things in class, I thought about trying new things as well. Not bad, really. Most exciting if someone quarrels.”
Shal glared at Zovras who was smiling broadly. Inevitably, the girl again threw away her face.
”It turns out like this to be a schoolboy. At first I did not like to study in formal school, but long-time fun also try new things here.”
”Includes being a lookout eagle, huh?” ledek Shal's.
Zovras laughed again, ”If it was, anyway, inevitably. Is anyone able to resist the will of the Principal? My science is not as high as he is. I could be be bewitched as a pink cat fan.”
With no Mevel wandering around, they felt free to gossip about the Headmaster.
”I also actually do not like to be too active in class or so prefect, but I studied hard and diligent activities so that my curriculum vitae is interesting. I want to get a good job later.” Shal knew the story was long.
”Wow! You've been thinking that far, yeah!” zovras was amazed.
”Ah, not really. It was just a thought when eating biscuits,” Shal said trying to sound relaxed. In fact, he was so embarrassed. ”Ah, we'd better join Four and Bialaer.” Shal immediately got up from the grass mat on the floor.
”I heard from Amara you know the Iziah family, yes?” Zovras re-opens the conversation with Shal so that the girl can relax. He pressed a button on his license card and the planetarium light came back on.
Shal said, ”Master Eero Iziah was my sponsor when I came to Maple Island.”
Zovras uttered a spell and Shalima's folded mat floated up and entered the original room. With a gentle gesture on his finger, a breeze moved to close the door of the room. So happy to be an elementary Wizard who is good at saying spells!
”Thann and her family live on Winterland Island, huh?” Zovras and Shal again chatted on the way to the lounge where the teachers were relaxing.
”Yes, they're nobles there.”
”I’m not really sure about that one,” murmured Zovras.
Shal frowned.
”Not many know, Maple Island is also the place of ”disposal” for creatures that are considered dangerous at a certain level. They are given a good place in the community, but in fact it is done so that their movements are easier to monitor.”
”You mean, the Iziah family is dangerous?” Shal's voice was heard rising.
Zovras took a breath before speaking in a low tone, ”I'm just asking you to be careful, Shal. Your Fallen Angel friend isn't necessarily who you imagined it to be either. He once harmed his brother until he was almost mute. I think you're se—”
”It seems I need to be more careful with you, deh,” cut the sharp Shal. Throwing her face away, the girl walked ahead of Zovras.
