Bad Luck

THE SOUND OF SHOES KNOCKING ON the floor of the corridor. Venalu looked troubled dragging his body. The numbing effect of being exposed to the liquid this morning has faded, though not completely. Aided by Efron, Venalu walked slowly on his return from the vice schoolmaster's room. While far back there, Lily and Maya were even engrossed in laughter.

Miss Elafir walked up to Lily, grabbed her palm, then moved like sticking something up. In the palm of Lily's hand was attached a rune symbol that had the meaning of punishment. Miss Elafir then flicked a finger which caused Lily to grimace in pain. The fingers were hot for a few moments. “Well, about like that. The effect will be different every time she refuses the order Miss Vaxalim,” said Miss Elafir proudly. “Happy you guys!”

With all the power of the middle world, Venalu wanted to curse right then and there. Keeping an eye on Lily means always being with the red-headed girl. It was the same as delivering himself to misfortune. Venalu suddenly wanted to submerge himself into Lakevender to avoid this bad luck.

Venalu looked back at Efron. However, when the two of them met, Venalu suddenly felt nervous. Venalu cleared his throat to neutralize the atmosphere and said, “Um, I think I can already walk on my own.”

Efron slightly flinched then released the hand that had previously held Venalu's body. “Are you sure?”

Venalu nodded stiffly and dragged his body away from Efron. With a limped step, Venalu said, “Ya. You can see it, right? I ... can.”

Efron smiled sweetly and nodded. Choose to watch Venalu at close range without touching it. Meanwhile, he did not realize that the smile was able to make Venalu more misbehavior. And, of course, being watched by his two crazy friends from behind.

What is money for? inner Lily wondered. Maya had walked ahead by shaking her legs.

 Venalu stared back and forth in the school yard. Soon is a welcome event for the new school year. All the students would gather to fly the firefly of hope. For Venalu, activities like this will be very boring. Moreover, those who do not like the crowd make it very lazy.

“Omong-by the way, can you get any book from the library?” venalu's orders are getting bored.

“What? Why should I?” lily protest. “Take it yourself! I'm not—mbeeek!” Lily was surprised when she suddenly imitated the sound of a goat. He immediately shut his mouth. "What the fuck? Anyway I'm not—mbeek!”

Venalu put on a lip holding back a laugh. Perhaps this was due to the punishment of Miss Elafir and Lily could not refuse anything Venalu ordered. “Well, you can't refuse me, can you? Come quickly get it!”

Lily puffed her cheeks. “But the show is starting soon, Ve. Come on, I'll get you later, yeah,” Lily's bargain, but get the gel from Venalu. “Alright, alright. I'll call Maya for a minute.”

“Without Maya.”

Lily had to comply with Venalu's request. He kept sneering during the walk. Kicking the wind and continuing to grumble. “What kind of regulation is this? Weird school!”

Lily picks up just any book and walks back to the school grounds, hoping not to miss the show until she doesn't realize a child is standing in her way. “Hey, move aside! Whose son, anyway, was left to wander in the academy?” lily grumbled as she looked at the innocent gaze of the little boy.

Instead of answering Lily's question, the boy took out a notebook with Hello Kitty's picture and wrote something down. “Creating chaos in animal cages, not accepting with punishment, and vilifying schools. Hm ...” The boy seemed busy counting with his little fingers, then turned his head while saying, “Your points are reduced by fifty.”

"W-what? Who are you really?"

“Hai, my name is Mevel. I'm just happy to record the sins of the students here. Starting the new school year, I'll be watching you. Bye!” pamit Mevel with an innocent smile then leaped merrily dragging the clover umbrella in her hand.

 “What's your hope, May?” asked Lily who was astonished to see Maya too seriously whispering to the fireflies of hope. The reason is, almost all have flown each fireflies hope, but Maya never finished making hope.

“Decret,” said Maya who finally released the glowing insect from her hand. One of Maya's fireflies seemed to have trouble flying and lost balance.

“I'm suspicious of you,” said Lily, “for sure your reason is planning a no-no,” he continued.

“That's you, know! Why ask?” Maya walks slightly forward and looks up to see the firefly light that almost disappeared. Replaced with a reddish color that somehow more and more concentrated. Followed by the sound of explosions and a rain of red ash flushed the courtyard of the academy that evening.

“Wow! Are these fireworks? Amazing!” lily exclaimed as everyone was busy running around to save themselves from the ash rain. He was engrossed in jumping up and down in excitement while clapping his happy hands and throwing compliments.

Whereas on the other hand, a man who was initially embarrassed for his trial again failed to feel a little flattered by the conspicuous foolish behavior of the red-haired girl. Levi Strauss, the man was laughing out loud and tagged the girl who until recently enjoyed her failed experiment. “He will be my first friend,” muttered Levi ended with a blaring laugh.
