Luccane
Chapter 13: The Flower Garden of Luccane

"Alright, until here only today's class do not forget to collect your paper assignments next week. Good afternoon," closed Pak Bian, lecturer of Indonesian History.

"Thank you, sir," said me and my classmates.

The Faculty of Cultural Sciences where I study does not have too many enthusiasts such as top faculties such as the Faculty of Engineering or the Faculty of Teacher Training at this university.

My old friend was not even fifty people, very inversely proportional to the two neighboring faculties I mentioned earlier that even his new students reached hundreds.

Even so, all my friends who are in one class with me have a genuine interest in the science of study they learn as well as me.

"Who would like to work on the same paper, Sha?" carly asked me after I finished tidying up her bag.

Today's lecture schedule is very crowded, enough to make me tired because almost a full day in the campus environment.

"Just do it yourself, Car. You see all the material points that must be contained in the paper I have many accurate source references," my reply was casual considering I had Luccane as the most accurate source of information without having to bother reading thick books.

"Seriously lo? Isn't it dizzy?" Carly asked to make sure.

"Yes, relax. Do you want group work?"

Carly nodded. "yes, I want to work with the twins Nice and Nayla."

"Jaudah if that's good. I unplug it first and go back carefully," I said goodbye as I edged out of class.

It's been five in the afternoon, all the buildings and the university area has seemed deserted to make me speed up the steps reluctantly if I meet the ghost of Meneer Kerkoof again.

I'm not hating that handsome noble ghost, it's just that I'm lazy to deal with him again because I'm sure once dealing with that one astral creature will be long.

A breath of relief was finally able to breathe out after I did not see any signs of the presence of astral beings up in the parking lot. Without wasting any more time, I gasped straight for the house.

...****************...

"Have you had dinner?" luccane asked after I opened the laptop on the study desk intending to start working on a paper assignment.

"Here you go" I answered with my eyes glued to the laptop, beginning to type the preface.

"What are you working on?" The kepo Luccane immediately stood behind me, watching me do the job carefully.

"Indonesian History? The Dutch colonial era? If you want we can do Time Travel so you can get the highest value," Luccane said calmly while focusing on my laptop.

"I want to ask for your help, then can you take me to the Dutch era?"

"Which one?" Luccane asked, reminding me that the Dutch colonial era had several periods.

"Era before the Japanese invasion, when your life is still going well," I said trying to keep Luccane feeling.

Luccane smiled. "alright, then close your eyes first."

I closed my eyes, feeling Luccane's fingers touching my tubers as the cold air blew away, which felt very unusual.

"Open your eyes we have arrived" Luccane said after I felt an unusual atmosphere around me.

I slowly opened my eyes and how shocked I was to witness a scene that was much different compared to the times I was living in today.

People were seen passing by on foot in the hot weather, also seen some Dutch people who passed by using horse carriages, he said, there's also an old car not far from where Luccane and I were standing.

The clothes of the people there looked much different from those of the future, all the Dutch women I saw wearing pretty minimalist dresses while the natives were seen wearing simple, shabby clothes.

"Normally this hour Dutch children or children of prominent native nobles will spend time in school until noon, that's why you can only see adults or children who don't go to school like those across the street" Luccane said, leading the way.

The children referred to by Luccane are indigenous children who are trying to peddle their wares, they carry merchandise by being carried on their shoulders.

Miris saw it, the children were walking in the heat of the sun barefoot with the weight of their merchandise that I could make sure was not light.

"Why did they have to work so hard, Luccane?" I was sad to see those kids.

"Because they have no other choice, Visha. Their parents must be very poor or they are abandoned children who have no parents anymore" Luccane replied in a soft voice, looking very sympathetic to the poor children.

"Have you ever had lemonade?" luccane asked suddenly when he saw an ice lemonade dealer passing by on his bike.

"I drank it, but not often. Why why?"

"I used to drink lemonade ice secretly without the knowledge of Papa haha, it tastes really good. What do you think?"

I nodded in agreement. "yes, it tastes good and fresh. It's natural that you like to drink it secretly."

Me and Luccane walked together until finally arrived at a greenhouse, located not far from the Luccane house which is now my home.

The greenhouse is elliptical, containing a variety of flowers ranging from tropical plants to plants that I have never seen before seemed to line up beautifully in it.

"Let's go in, this is the flower garden that I used to always take care of with Mama."

I was amazed to see the beauty of a very beautiful flower garden and emit a fragrant aroma from the various collections of flowers in it.

In the middle of the garden, there is a beautiful Wisteria tree with violet flowers that dangle so charming.

Wisteria trees have pinnate leaves, at first glance like they have no leaves.

"You've got the materials you need for your assignment, haven't you? Now enjoy the view in my flower garden."

Luccane and I sat face to face on a jade piece that had been carved in a square shape in front of the Wisteria tree.

My eyes cast a glance at all corners of the flower garden enjoying the beauty of the entire flower garden belonging to the Luccane family.

"This garden is so beautiful, Luccane. If only this flower garden had not been evicted in the future," I replied with a smile.

"Wait a minute" Luccane said as he got up from his seat.

Unlike the city of Bandung in my time, the city of Bandung at this time looks more quiet with cool air temperatures.

"What's this flower, Luccane?" I asked when Luccane gave three beautiful golden peach blossoms.

"This is the Juliet Rose, the most expensive flower in existence today. Ye know? Juliet's roses can only grow once a few years" Luccane said, looking enthusiastic as I smiled.

The Juliet Rose is indeed very beautiful with neatly arranged petals with golden peach color, a type of flower that I have never met before.

"The flower is as beautiful as you, Vishabea. I hope you like it."

"Thank you, Luccane."

Luccane smiled. "if in the future we can't date, then here we can date like a couple in general."

The sky that was once bright blue was now slowly turning orange, making my smile re-engraved.

"The sky is so beautiful, Luccane."

"Yes, but you cannot match your beauty Vishabea adore my heart."
