Victory in Life

Victory in Life
Chapter 629

As soon as he said those words, everyone's faces became furious and grim.

Conrad felt like the fire inside him had been ignited. Even though he managed to cover it up, it almost exploded at any moment.

"How stupid are you?!" conrad said while sneering.

Henry smiled happily to see Conrad and Mitch angry but could not vent their frustration. They looked like they had just eaten a fly.

After a long moment of silence, Dwayne turned to Jasper. He wasn't sure what was on Jasper's sleeve, so he asked, "Master Laine, are you sure you want to make the two moves you mentioned earlier?”

"I'm sure." Jasper nodded, giving Dwayne an affirmation.

Dwayne sighed. Seeing how Jasper was determined to humiliate himself, he made no further attempt to stop him and said, "Now Mr. Laine, who holds 24% of the shares, has made a motion, we'll start voting for the first motion."

"I mind."

Conrad expressed his opinion almost as Dwayne finished his sentence.

Dwayne cleared his throat and said, "Master Monty, holding a 40% stake, objected. I abstained from voting on behalf of the 6% stake held by all retail investors."

As Dwayne said those words, he turned to look at Colin Walter who had not said a word so far. After thinking about it, Dwayne thought that there was no point in him encouraging others and immediately announced, "Since the majority voted against the first motion, I announce that Mr. Laine's first motion was invalid."

"Wait, Mr. Martin. Mr. Walter hasn't spoken yet. Isn't this against standard operating procedures?" jasper said calmly.

Dwayne was startled for a moment and looked at Jasper with a dissatisfied expression.

In his opinion, Jasper was too stubborn that he even failed to recognize his good intentions.

"Haha, Mr. Martin, if he wants Colin to cast his vote, so be it. We still have to follow standard operating procedures, no matter what." Conrad laughed out loud.

As he spoke, he slowly removed the gold-framed glasses that were stuck at the base of his nose, slowly wiping the lens with a glass cleaning cloth.

"Jasper, oh Jasper. You amaze me even more. Is it good to be humiliated in public? If that's really what you want, then hey, bring your face close. Let me swing my hand and give you a nice slap in the face."

"I agree."

Those two unexpected words made Conrad's hand freeze in the air. Thinking that he might be having auditory hallucinations, his head suddenly lifted. He turned his incredulous and angry gaze to Colin.

Colin, however, was seen staring fixedly at the conference table without blinking. He didn't look Conrad in the eye at all.

He looked so focused as if there was a rare treasure on the conference table.

Conrad wasn't the only one who was stunned. Both Dwayne and Mitch seem to be looking at aliens.

Everyone's heart is beating fast.

At this moment, Colin Walter, a man no one had noticed in the first place, seemed to have turned into the limelight.

Henry looked at the scene before his eyes, itching to open a bottle of quality wine to gulp down while he marveled at the grand scene before his eyes. It's so thrilling to watch.

Not even a movie would play such a plot reversal.

"What are you saying, Colin Walter?" Conrad asked slowly, stopping after each word. His tone was cold and firm as if he was giving the loudest warning ever.
