Victory in Life
Chapter 38

Since Jasper did not buy any additional accessories, he immediately completed the procedure and was able to bring the car home.

The car industry in 2000 is not as bad as in the future, because bundled insurance has not become anything. As soon as Jasper got the key, he was allowed to drive to the DMV to get the license plate immediately.

Jasper took the car keys from Xena and got into the car as the saleswoman trembled to put a towel in her mouth.

Flicking the headlights, he drove the car from his place and left the showroom.

All the time, Jasper didn't seem to check whether the salesman actually swallowed the towel or not.

Rushing across the road in his car Jasper was really excited.

While this luxury car was not famous among the common people of this era, its aura could not be eliminated. Any intelligent person can see at a glance that it is an expensive car.

Jasper did not care about the gazes of those around, but he was very pleased with the pleasure he felt from sitting in the car of his dreams.

"Wow. This car is completely different. It's so much better than my BMW" exclaimed Wendy in shock as she sat in the passenger seat.

Do you like her? I can buy you one if you want." Jasper smiled

However, Wendy shook her head. "No, thanks. I think a car like this is more suitable to be driven by you guys. I really like my little BMW, it's comfortable and easy to drive. Besides, I want to make my own money."

"I like your determination. Quit your job and come with me if you want to earn money" Jasper suggested.

"Sure," Wendy immediately replied.

"Of course it is not easy to get a job at a Commercial Bank. Are you sure you want to just leave him?" Jasper's turn was shocked.

"I worked there just to hone my skills, but from what I see now, I learned more from you than at work. But you'll have to pay my salary if you want me to work for you." Wendy's joking.

"Fair enough." Jasper laughs. "You'll be working as my secretary for now, but I'll give you a more adequate position once my company is up and running."

"You want to start a company?" Wendy asked, dumbfounded.

Jasper nodded." There's not much I can do if I only hire one person. I've been thinking about this for a while, so we go find someone now. He'll play a crucial role in doing so."

Wendy's speechless. Jasper himself had managed to earn four billion in a short period of time. If he regarded this amount as 'not much', then he did not know what would satisfy him.

As he said, Jasper did not return to the city. Instead, he took a detour and drove to the heart of the country's Economy, Andros.

While Andros is hardly as developed as a province, there are already signs that it is the economic center of Alexandria.

After driving for four to five hours, Jasper and Wendy arrive at a modern-looking building in the heart of Andros.

The Waresoft Technical Support Center Alexandria.

This is the purpose of Jasper's journey.

The person you are looking for is the general manager of the current Technical Support center.

It was Jack Tanner. In the future, he was a senior executive who took over as Waresoft's domestic president and later resigned from Waresoft to work at Sacred as their professional manager.

Trained by Charles Granger himself to take over Waresoft, Jack began working on his core management as an Oriental. After leaving Waresoft, Jack then pushed Sacred into the strongest market in the world and helped Quade Chandler become the richest man in the country.

Jasper thought that such a person would be the perfect choice to help him in starting his work.

Not to mention he should be at his lowest point at the moment.

Wendy thought she had misheard when Jasper told her what kind of person she was looking for.

"Was... Are you sure he'll leave Waresoft to start a business with you, Jasp?" Wendy couldn't help but ask.

"Surely, because I know what he wants and I can give it to him," Jasper chuckled and said as he stared at the modern-looking building in front of him.

Hearing Jasper's remark, Wendy asked curiously, "What does she want?"

"The manager who has the highest ambition to realize his ideal needs is the stage where he can display his true talents." Jasper smile.

"It just so happens, that's what I'm offering."

Wendy didn't understand completely, but it seemed like something great.

Instead of taking Wendy to Jack's office, Jasper goes to a coffee shop with him.

After reading Jack's autobiography carefully, Jasper knew that this coffee shop was the place Jack liked the most during his time working at Andros. It was a place he would definitely stop by after work every day.

"Please, cappucino and blue mountain Jamaica."

After ordering, Jasper and Wendy went to sit by the window.

Wendy wanted to ask why Jasper had not gone to the man's office, but since Jasper had said nothing, she resisted the urge to ask.

Wendy is now aware of how Jasper does things, including the fact how he will always plan ahead before acting. Every time he acted, it was always with a 100% success rate%.

Ten minutes later, the coffee shop door was pushed open and an unattractive man in a suit walked in.

"As usual, Mr Tanner?"

The waiter looked very familiar to him and smiled as he asked.

"Yes" Jack replied and walked over to the table he always sat at. However, he was shocked when he realized that a young pair were already sitting there.

Jack did not comment on the fact that they had stolen his seat and gave a polite smile to Jasper before he looked for an empty table instead.

"This is the table you've been sitting at for the last few years, Mr. Tanner. I'm sorry to put it on today. How about we sit down and talk?"

Jack had a premonition that this young man was coming for him.

"Do I know you?" Ask Jack.

"No, but you know me now. Hi, I'm Jasper Laine."

Jack smiled and shook Jasper's hand, accepting an invitation to sit down.

First stunned by Wendy's beauty, Jack then turns to look at Jasper. "How can I help you, Mr Laine?"

Jasper sipped coffee and smiled. "You're the only employee in history to be awarded the Granger Waresoft excellence award twice in a row, Mr. Tanner.

"The Waresoft management team seems to be very happy with you, including Mr. Granger, the richest man in the world.

But you don't seem too happy working at Waresoft. Isn't that right, Mr Tanner?"

Jack could not help but laugh. "I'm very happy with my job, and I have no intention of resigning and working for anyone else. I'd really appreciate it if you recruiters don't look for me anymore.'

Jack considers Jasper a recruiter.

Jasper smiled and got straight to the point. "I'm not a worker recruiter, but I came here today to invite you to join my company, Mr. Tanner."

Jack did not know whether to laugh or smile while staring at Jasper. He stood up, saying, "I'm sorry, Mr. Laine. I gotta go. Let's continue this next time."

Jack feels like a waste of time by comforting the brave man who came to him and asked him to work for him.

"You know, Mr. Tanner, any modern company pays close attention to the integrity of their employees. The consequences would be dire if news of fraudulent employees came to the surface. You also live in fear, don't you, Mr Tanner?"

Jasper spoke casually while playing the coffee cup in his hand.

Jack who was about to go froze in place as he turned to stare intently at Jasper, uttering the words, "I don't think I understand what you mean."

Jasper looked at Jack and smiled."Your pH.D degree in Computer Science at Fornia state tech university is a fake."

Jasper's tone is not a question, but a statement that carries multifaceted certainty.

In his past life, it is only a few years before Jack's fake diploma is revealed. That caused him to get into big trouble, which was one of the reasons he left Waresoft.

Jack's expression changed on the statement, and the man felt ashamed. "What do you want?"

"I'm not trying to threaten you, Mr. Tanner, but I'm pretty sure that you're spending every moment worrying about your forged education certificate. A lie will always be a lie, and it's only a matter of time before people know it."

Jasper looked at Jack calmly. "Rather than constantly worrying about such a thing, wouldn't it be better to accept an invitation from a company that admires you and is willing to accept this flaw of yours?"

Jack scoffed. "My annual salary is four million dollars. Can you pay me?"

"I can pay you eight million." Jasper stood up to meet Jack's gaze." You deserve that price."

Jack narrowed his eyes and looked at Jasper vigilantly.

The young man in front of him was too young. He wasn't sure Jasper could pay such a high price.

"What company are you from?" Ask Jack.

"I haven't set up a company yet. But as long as you agree, I'll get the necessary approval for my company as soon as possible. You will be my first employee" Jasper replied.

Jack widened his eyes as he looked at Jasper, only to scoff in annoyance after a short pause. "I can't believe I really wasted so much time here with you."

"Mr Tanner" Jasper's voice rang out from behind Jack, who had already turned to leave. "My time is worth more than your time, so I hope you're really considering my proposal."

"What you just rejected is more than an invitation to work for me. This is a brighter and better future for you and the opportunity to open a new Era of business in this country."

Jack's steps stopped.

The two men find themselves at a dead end.

Jasper sipped a little coffee. 'Hmm, it's a little bit bitter'

Meanwhile, Wendy was too nervous that she had trouble breathing next to him. During their brief conversation, he managed to find details about Jack Tanner. It was then that he found out what kind of person the ordinary-looking man before him was.

Jack is part of the first generation of professional managers in the country, and he is a person with a talent that Waresoft highly values. His managerial skills had reached the highest level of mastery.

Yet such a person was forced to take a passive role during the entire negotiation with Jasper, incapable of any offense at all.

Wendy looked at Jack before turning to Jasper. There were several times he wanted to speak, but he suppressed the urge to do so.

He was afraid he would drop Jasper from his efforts.

However, he was worried that Jack would get angry and turn around to leave.

After a while, Jack finally turned around and approached Jasper in a furious tone. "I want to see what you can do. How do I know that you haven't been joking with me all this time?"

Jasper turns on his phone and shows Jack the balance in his bank account.

4,578,000,000 dollars!

Jack stared at the electrifying number on the small screen of Jasper's phone and his breathing became heavy.

Jack had never seen that much money in his entire life.
