Chapter 17 Trapped In The Labyrinth of Truth

Ken, who is still unaware of Mayumi's presence behind him, still argues with Marina about her relationship with Dinda.

“Originally know Rin, you have to help me remind Dinda that I am her lover. After all who is a brave – male – dare to approach Dinda ?”ken said with a loud tone.

Mayumi just silently stared without reprimanding Ken who was still busy with his phone. From a distance, Warsana, who was also observing the incident, slowly walked closer to Mayumi and Ken, who were unaware of each other.

Mayumi, who saw Warsana coming near her, just passed away before Warsana actually reached where Mayumi was. But Warsana continued its path towards Ken.

“Ken!.” Warsana Tegur.

Ken, surprised by Warsana's arrival, quickly hangs up. “Eh Warsana's. Have you been here long?” Ask Ken in a panic.

“I just got here, but a Japanese girl from earlier stood quite a long time behind you.” Warsana said calmly.

“Hah!.. Japanese girls, who do you mean?” ask Ken in a panic.

“Sure you know him.” Warsana said as she passed away leaving Ken who was still silently staring

perplexities.

Like being struck by lightning in broad daylight, Ken only fell silent with a face full of deathly pale and cold sweat pouring out. Now that his mind had become unclear, he thought about who the woman was, whether it was Chiharu, Naomi, Mayumi or maybe Sayaka.

A moment later, again Marina contacted him through a video call, how surprised Ken when he raised the video call, because what he had contacted through the video call was Dinda.

“Hai Ken, do you remember me?” dinda said with a bitter smile.

“A….A….I still remember.” Ken replied stammeredly as he was very surprised by the video call from

Dinda.

Then Dinda immediately closed the viedo call, Ken who was still in shock just fell silent. Again he could only be silent and silent, no matter what he was at the moment.

Meanwhile, Mayumi, who had heard all of Ken's talk earlier, rushed to find Chiharu at her workplace. She tells Chiharu about whatever she just heard from Ken. The contact made Chiharu surprised, between believing and not believing what Mayumi had just told her.

Chiharu was now worried whether all this should be told to Sayaka as she is, or if she kept all of this a secret.

“Now I am confused by what we should do Mayu.

Sayaka, or should we keep all this a secret?” chiharu asked Mayumi.

“I think we should think about it again, because what we are going to say to Sayaka, we should think good bad for Sayaka later.” Mayumi.

“So then, maybe we need to invite Naomi to brainstorm and invite her to talk too, what do you think?” chiharu asked Mayumi.

“I think it's better, because maybe there will be better advice from Naomi for us.”Mayumi smiled as she clenched her hand.

“Good.  I'll call her later, and we'll meet at the ship's library as usual.”Chiharu said to Mayumi while wiping the all-style glass she was holding.

Moving on to Naomi who is now sitting alone in the restaurant kitchen, she seems to have completely lost her work spirit, she said,  he spoke to himself while playing the fork and spoon as if it were between himself and the Word.

Mr. Joaquim the head chef became laughing at Naomi's behavior, because what Naomi did was really something that entertained her. “What are you doing Naomi ?  do you think that spoon and fork are humans who can talk like you.”

“Oh !, Mr. Joaquimm, I'm heartbroken Mr, I'm missing a chance with the person I've always liked.” Naomi said so clearly.

“Hoho…. How could a man as beautiful as you lose the chance for it, and how foolish that man, who wastes a woman like you.” Said Mr. Joaquim trying to comfort Naomi.

Mr. Joaquim and Naomi have been like father and son, they've been working together since Naomi first worked as a waiter on a cruise ship, so it's like there's no more bulkhead between the two of them.

“Then what should I do Mr, should I try to forget it or keep fighting for it?” asked spoiled Naomi like a son to her father.

“Actually he has not known anything Mr, because these few years I have only secretly liked him, and never dared to reveal it.” Light Naomi shy.

“Then you should try to say it dear, because you will never

know how she feels.” Said Mr. Joaquim reassuringly.

“But the problem is, my good friend has first expressed feelings to him.” Naomi said with a lazy attitude.

“Are they married now?” Ask Mr. Joaquim so lightly.

“Of course not Mr, they just made up a few days ago, and they are also on this ship.” Answer

Naomi while playing back her spoon and fork.

“Then you have to be honest with your friend, and tell him how you feel, don't you care if he gets angry or how…. The important thing is that you are honest with your friend, and do not play with him from behind.” Obviously Mr. Joaquim with a big smile.

“What does it mean to play him from behind Mr?” ask Naomi wonder.

“My child, with you harboring feelings for the person you like, then it's the same you are

toying with the feelings of your own friend, because he does not know that it turns out you also like people who are liked by your friend.” Bright Mr. Joaquim to Naomi.

Naomi nods her head to understand what Mr. Joaquim has said, although in her heart she is hesitant and also afraid that it will hurt Mayumi's feelings,  if he's telling the truth about his feelings about the Word.

Now Naomi is not as shy as before, after she got advice and attention from Mr. Joaquim. He then bids farewell to Mr. Joaquim and intends to see Mayumi soon.

From the other direction, Chiharu hurriedly ran after Naomi who was walking at a rapid pace towards Mayumi's study.

“Hai Naomi!.. wait for me” shouted Chiharu calling Naomi.

Naomi who heard the call from Chiharu, then turned around and saw Chiharu who was walking quickly to

its direction.

“What's Chiharu ?  why do you look hasty – gesa so.” said Naomi wonder.

“There's something I want to talk about, it's very important. And you should get involved in it.” Chiharu said in a serious tone.

“Alright, say Chiharu, is this about Ken and Sayaka?” ask Naomi curiously.

Chiharu then told all that Mayumi said about Ken to him, expressionlessly, Chiharu described her current feelings. Naomi, who heard it all, began to get carried away with Chiharu as she conveyed her story.

Chiharu then invites Naomi to meet with Mayumi, to discuss about their best attitude towards the matter. The truth is in plain sight, but the feeling and sense of responsibility towards Sayaka's feelings, becomes a barrier that makes them feel inside a confusing labyrinth.

Naomi meets with Mayumi in the end, Naomi's gaze is not as usual to Mayumi, Naomi's gaze is full of doubt, Tanya's mark and confusion.

“Mayumi, how is the Word today.. Have you met him?” ask

Naomi's.

Mayumi was surprised by the question given by Naomi, because the question was not as usual, and Mayumi felt so strange about the question.

Chiharpun also surprised, why suddenly Naomi asked the news of the Word, but the Word is no one for Naomi. As Chiharu stared at Mayumi, as if both understood her curiosity, Chiharu gestured for Mayumi to use her hypnotic abilities on Naomi.

Mayumi's hand touched Naomi's shoulder, and slowly Naomi began to limp in and slowly sat down while closing her eyes.

“So, why did you suddenly ask me the Word?” ask Mayumi who started interrogating Naomi.
