Can I Kill You?

Can I Kill You?
Chapter 22 - Not Sure

"What makes you so sure?"

There was a sloping corner approaching half of his lips, thinking of me as if I were the most insensitive human being in the world. My eyebrows are raised, my question is unanswered. "So?"

Breathing out of his mouth. "Here you go, let's try it first."

"So you don't know yourself yet" I said. A question floated inside my head. "Then what would you do if I didn't manage to cure him?"

This time Elfa spoke up. "Of course we'll give you back. Whole."

Requirements that are too awkward. On the one hand, I need not be afraid to take his life, but on the other hand, I, of course, want an accountability. "After everything you've done? You guys brought me, who's a future queen here, and hope to bring me back with no problems?"

They look at each other. Not ready to answer this question like a child who does not prepare the answer material on the first day of school. I wonder why they don't treat me so harshly anymore. "And also, why didn't you guys use your magic before?"

Charlie shrugged his shoulders, seemingly tired of this question and answer. "Well, at least you're still human" he said lightly, not answering some of my questions. The statement floated, but I understood the point. Vampires never consider humans to be important existences. Half my feelings are as soft as porridge.

God fucking. The answer was short, but it stabbed me in a rather long span of time to be able to make me silenced. I wish I wasn't born a human being, let alone a female. That way, I can definitely defeat them easily.

The conversation that I thought was over turned out to continue after a brownish hair came from the door. I turned my head and found her face reddish white, not used to being sunburned, different from the three men in front of me. He immediately smiled a smile of astonishment after our eyes met. "Hi, everyone? May I know who this woman is?"

Brooke got up from her chair. "I should ask, why are you here, Kairin?"

Kairin scratched his head awkwardly. A smile never leaves his lips. "Well, actually I've almost died of boredom going with people protesting homeless," he said in a cheerful tone. Perhaps his bright blue eyes always made his life full of happiness. "So, what have I missed?"

Charlie growling. "You know what the consequences of coming here are, don't you?"

"of course. But, look! I'm really healthy even though I've been here a long time! It's possible that I do have immunity to the curse just like you!"

I started protesting because I felt like I was losing my way. "Wait a minute." Justright. Why didn't I ask you yesterday. "You said this woman was because of the curse... That means you know I'm going to be affected by it too!"

"No. This curse won't work on humans." This time Kairin answered. His hand took off the wall of the door and stepped closer to me while holding my shoulder with one hand. "You'll be fine if you follow, okay?"

I removed his hand from my shoulder as quickly as possible. You little familiar. "You're hoping I'll answer, 'Okay, I understand', do you?" My timpals are already on the edge of anger, but their magic isn't activated either. My feelings are tinkering with fear. Should I just shut up and obey? It could have been that they had a strange magic that was more detrimental...

No. gabe. I have to be brave. I have to do this.

"Calm down, okay? Only this first time I met a human who likes emotions," he said half in panic. I have absolutely no understanding of their suddenly subtle actions. "alright. We'll give you back while prostrating, how?"

"Eat him, you guys are into—" Enough. Okay. I stopped my words for a moment after knowing from all of them no one dodged nor laughed.

"As far as you guys. Importantly, I have to come back later tonight," I said as I knew I was just a victim of this.

And they remained silent until we finally reached the cave in question.

...****************...

"You're all vampires?"

The question was so silly, but no longer after I saw Crystal's white hair decompose like pure white snow. However, if they are vampires, why go to this place?

"It's also less accurate if you call us vampires" Kairin commented, winking a few times. "Well, we'll tell you that you cured Crystal's sister."

His blue eyes are getting dimmer. I hate to admit this, but I really can't cure someone with magic or miracle power. And more precisely, I don't have magic power like other creatures. How can I cure someone who has been dying for so long?

Without orders, I drew closer to Crystal who was still closing her eyes, beautiful like a sleeping doll. His hands crossed over his body looked extremely fragile, not allowing his body to be broken once I lifted him up.

"Can you do it?" elfa asked once again, to be honest it made me sick.

With great care and super fear, I touched her arm which turned out to be super smooth, but ice-cold. Sweat just passed my cheek. "Eitherway. What if I say no?"

"alright. Continue your observation," she replied expectantly and relented, as if I were the daughter who was emotional because of the moon.

I began to think of everything I had ever known, the hilarious prayers I had heard, the name of the goddess once uttered by a friend of mine who had a religion, the expectations that many people say when they want something, but in fact do not work.

"It didn't work, too bad," Kairin chimed in after no reaction. I still haven't given up.

Finally, I thought of a fleeting prayer statement popping into my head. It doesn't feel like it's gonna work. Please wake up, great vampire lady.

The statement was able to make a greenish streak of aurora-like light pass through the cave just like that, extinguish the candle as well as knock it down, then shine a light on Crystal's thin body and make him release a rumbling sound from his stomach.

I flinched and released my hand from Crystal's wrist. "What's going on?!" The wind still continued to blow straight at us, penetrating blatantly, making us all close our ears and eyes.

A few minutes passed. We all re-opened our eyes, and how shocked we were all to see the emerald green eyes of the Crystal opening slowly.

"Crystal!"

Elfa's voice echoed within the ceiling of the cave, sounding about to sob. In a time that no one expected, the stuffing stopped, replaced by the sound of holding his breath like someone who was about to be killed.

"Have you been satisfied to play my fiancee?"
