Can I Kill You?

Can I Kill You?
Part 18 - Mysterious Servant

I could feel the sunlight again sweeping across his face that glittered like satin. Her eyelashes were as white as goose feathers, and her manic glowed like fire. Her white hair that was almost close to silver was cut to a shoulder, making her head appear small and adorable.

Is correct. All that unity is what shaped Kate today.

Why is his voice suddenly not foreign? Is too long silence without throwing my knives driving me crazy?

"You need any more help, Barbie?"

I pretend to think. "For the moment no, '' I said as I took the paper back. "Thank you for helping me."

"Oh, no problem. Whenever you need help, call me, okay?"

I'm nodding. I could feel the warmth running through my hand when Kate started shaking my hand. A different taste from yesterday is reflected through my senses. His skin is more rough.

"By the way we've never met properly, have we?" his murmur, still maintains our handshake. "introduce. I'm Kate. Queen's secret guard."

A simple introduction that nearly jolted me.

"You're serious?"

"Do I look like I'm kidding?"

My lips did not answer. He should always be in the presence of the queen. If it's true what he said, I have to take care of myself at every meeting.

I shook back the warm squeeze of his hand. "In that case, let me introduce myself as well. I'm Barbie. A better human than any vampire" I said confidently and was met with laughter from Kate.

"Dream," he commented, grinning. "But I think the voracious lady's call does suit you."

I automatically kicked him in the leg and he was able to dodge smoothly. Still holding on to that nickname. I hope that call will soon be destroyed by this kingdom.

After that, he smiled again as before. And I'm pretty sure that my eyes are no stranger to this.

...----------------...

In the afternoon, I went back to my room and relaxed with the newspaper I was carrying.

The queen gave us a week to relax. I'm sure he meant 'relaxing' not what it looks like. My enemy must have prepared various scenarios to frame me.

I always thought school lessons weren't important at all. Especially when it was announced that I would be married to a vampire... Everything in my life is not important other than a thirst for revenge.

I restored my hair, refocused on the bewitched writings. Each letter is not much different from what humans have. If I may admit, how to read it is quite complicated. Why use magic just to use the daily newspaper?

My head was twitching throwing a glance at the entire room. There's only me. So I gladly leaned back on the couch and began to read:

Awful News Special Vampire!

Special vampire. Very funny, I thought.

12 January

Again, the case of vampire death mysteriously increased. The victims numbered one family who died suddenly for no reason. No injuries were left or a history of illness. Worse, there was no trace left by the perpetrator. The police say that the perpetrator who did this is the same person he was ten years ago...

Well, this is no different from the queen's explanation. I lay down my body and put the paper on top of the newspaper. Maybe I should give up and investigate the Rafonia academy firsthand.

I was not finished trying to fall asleep, knocking on the door broke my concentration. I jumped off the couch and opened the door, I found the face of the waiter other than Betty bowing respectfully to me.

"What's the matter here?" flat say. Lucky my voice is still not hoarse like a person waking up.

Unlike Betty, this vampire bead is dark red and flat. "Preparation to go to school is ready. Have you prepared all your things?"

I scrunched my forehead. This hobby really amazes me. Maybe making people panic has become a vampire culture.

Though yesterday it was clearly said that my school debut would start in a week. I wonder what made the queen change her mind.

Time... He's not ambitious because he wants to get rid of me right away, right?

"What's? Isn't my move still a week away?"

There was a moment of silence before the servant started to say again. "Miss Georgia has started packing since yesterday-"

My eyes narrowed next to. "-And Georgia or whatever it is certainly has nothing to do with me-"

A cold tone came out of his mouth. "You seriously want to be the main queen, don't you? If so, I suggest you pack up right now. Or if it doesn't..."

I feel like the waiter in front of me is being polite. "Oh, act like a manager, huh? If not, what is it?" reply while crossing my hands.

"I'll report you if you're willing to give up."

"Then I'll report back if you've spread the fake news." I'm not scared. Even if the waiter won't make me shudder.

Still not giving up, the servant put his lips to my ears. "Look, yeah. I hate people like you. I want it to be like this, like that. Actually you're very weak, you know?"

I pushed his body, trying to get rid of all the cold feelings he had caused from the intent of his words, but he was still able to stand up straight and started speaking before my eyes.

His red eyes seemed to hold a grudge of their own towards me. He put his index finger in front of my chest.

"Don't forget that you don't have a partner in this kingdom. And you hope your word will be trusted? Impossible. Follow my words, and you'll be safe."

Each of his words was like a snake wrapped around me slowly. I was almost entangled if he didn't immediately decide to stop threatening me.

His feet stepped away even though I kept watching his movements. Goody. Brash type waitress.

A new conclusion came to my mind. Whatever I feel, whatever I think, as long as it doesn't hurt this place, one hundred percent of it is sure no one cares about it.

I bite my nails, so impatiently waiting for the time I'll be out of this crazy castle.

...----------------...

The afternoon came and the sun seemed to pierce all my bones. There were not many things I prepared for school other than the daggers I brought from home. And again, the rhythm of the beats rang out, and I pulled the knobs lazily.

My hands were drawn without me holding back, and the wind seemed to pierce through every strand of my hair. Something kept me walking out.

After that, it all became night.
