Can I Kill You?

Can I Kill You?
Part 13 - Calvin's

Half-conscious, I felt an angel finally come up to uproot my life. But the angel smiled sweetly at me.

When I thought I was still hallucinating, the figure was still smiling at me, so I almost considered this event a dream if only the pain did not pinch me little by little.

Oh, what was I expecting. Of course if the one in front of me is not human, it must be a vampire.

Of course, I'm not keeping quiet. I took a swing and choked his neck, locking his movements right on top of the pile of snow (he had earlier shouted, "Hey, what are you doing?" but not at all kukubris.), making the birds who play choose to step aside to fly.

His body was struck with a steady voice without a fight. He just cursed after seeing me in action. "It seems true what Mika said, huh? This woman is completely insane..."

I tightened my lock earlier, his groan grew higher, and I felt more and more satisfied. However, seeing her beautiful face hurt, somehow my chest became a bit sick.

"Who are you?"

The man growled, his blue eyes already stained with vexation. "Oh, can we just sit down and talk? You humans have never been taught manners, have you?"

My feeling was that she was weaker than Ella, so I removed my hand from her body. The man wagged his vest as if he had just entered into a dirty sheep.

Oh, ja. I didn't notice it before. Her clothes turned out to be just as luxurious as Ella's clothes last night. It was obvious that he was a noble child.

It's just... He's not a vampire if he's not white. This makes me a little confused.

After he finished cleaning himself up and got up, we stood face to face, making himself awkward by clearing his throat and taking a step back. We are facing a little far away now.

If I were to compare with Ella, their height would certainly be considerably compared. Ella is a tall vampire, and I'm sure many women can easily be caught up with her charm, coupled with her handsome face and attractive hoarse voice. However, this man in front of me was also no less attractive, especially his smile. He is certainly no less popular.

"Well, let me introduce myself" he said, putting his hand in front of his left chest and bowing. "My name is Calvin, Mikaela's cousin. I wish we could be familiar."

Her beautiful bead of space shone along with the rise of dawn. So beautiful and sweet.

I had not had time to react, a female servant approached us while carrying a super large basket. "Miss Barbie! I thought the lady would leave the room!"

His cry suddenly stopped as his eyes looked at Calvin. His basket almost fell, and Calvin caught it.

"Ah, aren't you papa?"

Betty suddenly stutters, "Prince Calvin! Wh-why are you here?"

"Ah, yes. I had a little business with Barbie" said Calvin not forgetting with a smile. His attacks were particularly potent against maids like Betty.

Betty put down her giant basket and played her hair riled up. "Ah, but then..."

I folded my hands in front of my chest. "We have some business?" cut me quick. I'm not sure Betty can talk any faster than now.

"Of course, it's about your engagement. There will be a surprise announcement when you come to the dining room later."

My eyes blinked a few times. "Announcement?"

"Yeah, this determines whether you intend to continue this engagement or not—ups, I say." Calvin placed his hand before his lips in a panic-stricken manner.

An announcement? Ella must have deliberately not told me so I wouldn't come and things continued to run. Honestly, up until now I didn't understand what was in his head. Surely his rational brain asserts that I'm just a piece that can be used and thrown away.

"Why did you tell me this?" ask again.

"Of course because I'm also one of the people who's interested in you, Barbie. I think if you want to cancel your engagement, sooner it's better to face it in front of your own, right?"

"You have a point." I smile. "But just so you know, I'm not gonna call off this engagement. I'll stop the vampire prince's hunt for humans. For that..."

Calvin's lips summed up a wide smile that made me stop speaking. "alright. Your up. Let's see it later."

"Miss, maybe it's time to come in. My skin has begun..."

Betty's skin was suddenly about to peel off like dry fish fins. Sunlight effect. I glanced at Calvin, "I agree too. I need a shower myself" he said.

But I didn't see her skin peeling at all.

The three of us walked back into the castle. Many servants shouted hysterically as the tip of Calvin's nose was seen from a distance. I who disliked this situation pulled Betty's hand quickly to immediately enter the room upstairs. He immediately prepared to clean my body (with a little nagging because I took his time with Calvin).

Unexpectedly, Betty changed my bandage and cleaned my body softer than yesterday. The gaping wound in front of my chest, the funny thing was already starting to dry up. Even so, the pain still torments my mind slowly. I try to calm down and consider this pain just my hallucination.

......................

"Well, you're better than ever" Calvin commented, his hands clinging to his chin as if ready to examine every part of my appearance. "You really like blue, don't you? I remember your dress just now was also blue."

"Either. Betty gave me these clothes. I don't have a favorite color." I play my hair along the shoulders that are still half wet. It felt like my head was half-sick with warm water that was not immediately dried in the hair.

"Oh, I'm sorry. It seems like life as a human being is so boring that you don't have a favorite color." Calvin chimed in.

My eyeballs are spinning. "That's it."

We also walked through the halls of the castle which was lined with giant glass as high as two meters. The golden rays of the sun that entered through the window made my gaze glare. I close my eyes with my arms.

From outside the window, the trees had already begun to show off their leaves aided by the golden sunlight. Winter is still rumbling. Snow is not a good choice.

"Oh, about that. How about you consider what I'm saying?" Calvin's question made my daydreams crumble, I glanced at him while frowning.

"It seems like you misunderstood one thing," I replied flatly. "We are fiancee not because we need or love each other. So it won't be easy to get me to cancel this wedding."

"I know, you said that. It's all for your people, isn't it?" Calvin kept his steps in line with me. "It's common knowledge that a marriage between a human and a vampire doesn't begin in the name of love."

Still not satisfied, Calvin continued his promotion of himself again. "I can heal you, can give you more attention, less especially?"

"If so, can't Ella?" my sergeant's pissed.

Calvin grieves. "You liken myself to him? Oho! Obviously we are both different! My class as a vampire is higher than her!"

"Then" I said sharply, "What are you really? Why is your stature different from that of a pure vampire?"

Calvin concluded the smile on his lips that was as glazed as pomegranate. Not answering and keep going on a level with me. I fell silent.

......................

Upon arrival in the dining room, various dishes are prepared on the table. Turkeys, roast cows, fruits, desserts, grapes, all lined up neatly in front of seats that may be a dozen in number.

There were already a few vampires sitting at the dinner table, and of course, none of the faces I knew. Each of their red eyes followed my movements sharply, as if I were the number one criminal in the kingdom.

The uncomfortable me chose to sit in the corner seat, right next to Calvin. Calvin who knew I was sitting next to him was already ge-er, and I tried not to notice him by playing my hair.

After a while, the waiters brought food again as if they were not satisfied with the dishes. And at the same time I saw Ella step up.

And he's not alone.

The kasmaran-looking Georgia with Ella's face embraced her hands in a friendly manner. Her eyes did not turn from Ella at all until the two of them almost reached the dining table. Her happiness receded as her red bead paved with me.

"W-why! ...This man again!"

I can only smile thinly.
