Can I Kill You?

Can I Kill You?
Part 10 - A Meaning

Stepping out of Mikaela's room was no fun as Betty explained what tradition was while walking while the prince had walked quite a distance.

"Listen, yes, Miss. When confirming the engagement, the bride usually does one important thing," she explained coolly. I pretended to be interested by nodding enthusiastically.

"Very interesting. Can you tell me what it is?"

We arrived at a long hallway, decorated with green candles. I wonder what the difference is with ordinary candles. Betty's steps remain regularly to guide me.

"Miss should kiss her,"

Well, this is just awful. "Uwow."

Betty smiled at the strange smile that made me almost laugh. "Here," he touched his own cheek and advanced it toward me. "You got it?"

The feathers of kudukku bristles. "It's just my feeling, or worse than a human, anyway?"

"Better." Betty smiled satisfied with her narrowed eyes.

I rolled my eyeballs. "Oh, that's a terrible tradition. As I expected of vampires" said sarcas. "But what is the meaning of that kiss? Em, I mean, for you guys."

Betty answered again with patience. "A symbol of loyalty to us. Women who kissed vampire men were even considered impossible."

"Why could that be?"

"Because the responsibility to protect is very difficult for them, Miss. Therefore, if they have done this tradition, it will be considered that nothing can disturb their love."

I agree with his words. Protecting is a thousand times harder than hurting. But, if that's really what I do, I look like I'm insulting vampires. My plan to kill him isn't it completely reversed with this?

"Hows it? It doesn't seem like the lady fits, either." Betty said half-mockingly.

I replied short after a long pause, "All right. Yeah." yeah."

Betty's lips curled while looking at me. From behind his clothes, it turned out that there was a dagger along the arm that was about to be extended to me. "Please put this on, Miss."

A fairly large dagger with a carving of a lion in the middle. The scabbard is decorated with ethnic motifs I don't know about.

A gleam emerged from behind the sword sheath, forming a blue color, matching the color of the super clear sea. Never have I seen a dagger so beautiful. And I'm sure, my gray bead must have shimmered more than usual.

I hesitated to accept the gift. What purpose?

Before I finished thinking about the possibility that would happen at the party, the three of us arrived in front of the crowd. Mikaela extended her hand to me. The first hand I've ever received in a lifetime.

......................

Georgian mane changes color to match her dress. Red fire. The manic color is blasting orange that is ready to wipe out my existence in this world. "Rotten man! I wish you could disappear from this world!"

I'm starting to get surprised at Georgia's behavior. Is this what Mikaela is talking about? Complaining with her fiance?

The sound of applause and the sound of the clapped glass began to resound loudly in the room. It was as if everyone was waiting for this. As if this was his main entertainment. Many have called for his support of Georgia, and some for me.

"Come, dagger man! Attack that crazy woman!" One of the people cheered, as well as the vampires.

I don't know why I feel that nickname is laughable while making my heart beat hard.

"What is your relationship with Georgia?" I whispered while putting up the horses. Mikaela glanced at me, then thought while looking at the ceiling.

"Fiancee—"

"First. Now we're just friends with no meaningful status." Mikaela chuckled after that. "Of course not, Barbie. Why should I complain to you? Anyway, this is salah—"

Georgia's claws were about to tear my face apart, I dodged quickly retreat and resisted her attacks that came again as fast as the wind. I kicked as hard as Georgia's body, which turned out to be as hot as fire. His body bounced into the glasses and banquets that were in the party.

"I'm not sure an ordinary friend will attack his friend's fiancee!" seruku seraya declared victory while I.

Georgia's body is rising again. And the flames of anger were burning in his eyes. "Shut up, man! You're just food stock for Mika! You don't mean anything!"

Georgia floated quickly towards me, and I managed to injure the left part of her arm while she was still in the air. I retreated back quickly when he was less than twenty inches away from me. We also returned to attack.

Georgia's assault that's been like a wild gorilla has overwhelmed me. The more time goes by, the claw had torn some parts of my dress. I also made a commensurate impact with her, but the heat from her hair made a bad effect on me. I kept sweating without doing anything that made me tired.

It's critical. This way I might lose.

While thinking like that, I lost the rhythm of holding me back. Georgia managed to break through the defense that I had trained myself for five years easily. And she managed to tear the front of my dress, making a cut that made me scream loudly.

Everyone shouted proudly at Georgia, excluding Mikaela who looked at our fight as if the teacher observing her student was doing the final exam. He had absolutely no reaction to the wound that left me gasping for breath.

My vampire protection pendant is reflected in an orange Georgia bead. I don't understand why he stopped attacking. Even his claws that were covered in my blood did not lift him again.

"D-dad?" Georgia's voice softened, as if she saw her father before her eyes.

Georgia's body fell to the floor, already similar to a person who overdosed on a sedative. It seems like my chance to strike his heart is clear. So, I launched my attack right at his heart. Before that happened, one of the women who greeted us held my hand to move.

"Yeah, stop. Looks like we've found a winner here."

My eyes widen. "What are you doing? He hurt me! I deserve to strike him back!"

The woman's red eyes directed at my pendant at a glance. "You're right, honey. But look at Georgia now." The woman refocused her eyes on the giggling Georgia. "He's not himself anymore."

He continued speaking too. "Don't knights attack enemies who are unable to resist?" His words pierced my heart more pain than the wounds that held on my chest. So, I answered. "Then, is attacking one's fiancee at a party so suddenly knightly?"

The woman chuckled as she let go of her grasp. "It looks like Mikaela didn't explain anything to you, huh?"

"What?"

"That is the purpose of our tradition. Protects. That's why the man gave you his sword. And here... Georgia is willing to play an antagonist role for you, even though in the real story she really wants to protect Mikaela. Isn't that enough?"

I still don't understand.

"You must be special enough to hold that sword. Georgia's been wanting it for a long time, but Mikaela won't let it." Again, his eyes returned to my necklace which reflected a hint of sea blue light.

The woman smiled coldly at me. I still looked at him in astonishment and relaxed my grip on the dagger I was carrying. So, meaning... I took Mikaela so I deserve this wound? What kind of conclusion is that?

"What is this storm?"

The voice was not foreign, but I did not know him. Everyone bent their bodies, Mikaela was no exception.

"Well, this is bad. What would the queen say if she knew her future son-in-law had been harmed by humans? It's your history."

I was about to yell, but the person called the queen had already arrived in front of us. I bowed respectfully, the fear of his aura that gave me goosebumps.

Aura kill.
