I opened my eyes. Everything seems to be blurry. My head feels heavy. Damnit. The drink I drank must have been laced with poison so my consciousness disappeared. I don't know what poison Roland put into the drink earlier. I tried to get up but my legs and hands were tightly tied to the edge of the bed where I lay. My hands were tied to the end of the bed above my head and my feet were tied tightly to the bottom of the bed. This bed is not a soft bed where I lay two nights ago. I looked to the side. There Erick was lying in the same position as me and his arms and legs were tied just like me. He's still unconscious.
"Erick!" I called him in a very urgent voice.
It seemed to be the room Roland had deliberately prepared for the both of us. In this room there are only two beds where we are held captive and a chair in the corner of the room. This isn't the room where I recovered that time. Erick still didn't respond to my call. I'm really worried about his condition. What if Erick ... Ah, it's impossible. I threw away my stupid thoughts. Erick couldn't have died in this place.
"ERICK!!!" call me again in a louder voice.
Two seconds passed in silence, then I saw him open his eyes. Mercifully. I'm glad he's conscious. I saw him clenching his forehead. Must have been so dizzy in the head like I felt when I just woke up from fainting. I don't know how long we've been unconscious and locked up in this room. My memory is floating on Leda. He must be worried about me. My heart ached considering that the woman must have been waiting for me at home with endless worry. Just last night I worried him half to death and tonight I'm back to worry him. Maybe it's true what he often says about me. I was too careless.
"What's going on?" Erick asked while looking at me.
I saw him trying to break away from the bond that shackled his hands and feet. Damnit. The bond that shackles our feet and hands is made of silver chains. Did Roland really intentionally want to torture me? I don't want to make him an enemy. But this time I have to use my common sense for my safety and Erick's.
"The man mixed dope into our drink" I said.
I'm trying to untie that. I tried to break the chains that bound my hands but in vain.
"Scarlett, that guy is dangerous." Erick warned me about something I already knew.
I went back around my wrist hoping that the chain would come off but it was my skin that was scratched as a result of my attempt to remove the winding of the chain. Silver has always been an obstacle for people like us.
"Why does he know our weakness?" Erick asked in a curious tone.
"Let's go, that bastard will pay the price!" hisisku.
"All this happened because you were trapped by her charms" Erick snorted.
"Stop babbling, kid!" My orders. "Give up your strength to untie it and let's get the hell out of this godforsaken place!" I went back to shaking my wrist.
"This silver is hurting my wrist!" Erick gritted his jaw in annoyance.
"Stop fighting like children!" We fell silent and turned our heads towards the door as Roland entered the room laughing.
"YOU !!!" I yelled at him with anger as if I was going to blow up a volcano.
"You look like a couple of teenagers fighting." He laughed as he crossed his hands on his chest.
"You will soon regret this act of yours!" I glared at him.
"You're going to fight me with your hands tied like that?" taunted.
"Basic Bastard!" Erick yelled while trying to untie her but he was unsuccessful. I saw him frown as the silver chain further injured his wrist.
"Silver will drain the power of damned beings like you," Roland said as he raised his eyebrows.
"Stop talking like you know all about us!" I spoke in a threatening tone to him.
"You guys have lost," Roland said proudly, "Stop preying on humans or I'll make you burn alive in the sun!" threaten her.
I rolled my eyeballs and laughed. Roland was surprised to see my reaction. Maybe he hoped I'd die of fear because of his threat.
"You're watching too many movies, son!" I still say while laughing. "Who said I could get burned from sunburn? I can even walk freely while dancing in the sun." I said it while laughing.
"Stop laughing blood-sucking creatures!" Roland snapped at me.
This time my laughter disappeared and changed heightened emotions. I felt my blood boiling. I stared hard at him. No one can insult me. I am the Goddess of Eternity. I did not turn into a vampire because of the bite and blood exchange with other vampires, but rather I was created to become the Goddess of Immortality. I won't let anyone insult me.
I felt the energy flow into every inch of my body. Even the silver chains that shackled my hands and feet couldn't get in my way. I felt flames coming out of my body and burning the chains that were twisting my wrists and legs. The silver chain melted and slipped out of my hands and feet. I stood up at an inhuman speed. Roland stared at the incident in front of him with his half-gape mouth and eyes glaring in disbelief. I was standing right in front of him with burning eyes. He looks in shock.
"You're wrong to think of myself as weak just because of a toy chain you tied up in my hand." I hissed at him. "You should have run when you found out who I am!" I said that sentence in a threatening tone.
"I'm not afraid of a creature like you." she replied with her sharp eyes that returned my gaze.
"Go before I hurt you." I warned him in a flat tone.
I saw him grab the gun on the right side of his waist but I moved so fast and I moved behind him. I turned his arm and locked his hand on his back. The gun fell to the floor. I remained standing behind him while whispering in his ear, "you should be afraid of me."
"I'm not afraid of anything!" He said it with courage. And yes, I trust his words.
I still pressed his hand against his back. I could feel her shoulder movement up and down from breathing, even I could hear her heartbeat now pounding even louder.
"Tell me why you can still remember me when I told your subconscious to forget that you've met me." I asked him about something that made me curious.
"I'm not as weak as other humans" he replied.
We are still in the same position as before. So close. I can smell it. He smells musk that is so alluring.
"You misunderstood me." I tried to explain, "You think I'm the one who sucked the blood of the people in town. I never did it."
"Omong empty!" He gritted his teeth.
"I don't drink blood directly from humans, you idiot!" My atonement. "For me your lives are precious. I can't take your lives. Your lives are too short for me to take!" This time I spoke in frustration. Why doesn't he trust me?
"I don't believe in the words of a creature like you!" abugn.
"Hell up!" I replied with a tired tone. It's free to convince this stubborn man.
I was shocked when his phone vibrated in his pants pocket. He was about to grab his phone but was blocked by my hand that was still holding his hand on his back. I'm not gonna let go. So I decided it was me who would take his phone in his pants pocket with my free hand. I reached into his pants pocket, and I swore that I heard his heart pounding more and more as my hand went into his pocket. I swallowed and took his phone. I pressed the take a call button and told him to answer the phone.
"Hello. Roland's! Hurry here, there are two more bodies found in the city center in the same condition as before. But this time the body of the corpse was still warm, it seemed like the killer had just escaped" a voice said on the phone.
"Well, I'll be there soon" he replied. I turned off the phone for him.
"There's another vampire who deliberately attacked humans in this town." I said to Roland and Erick.
I let go of Roland's hand and let him go free. This time Roland turned around and faced me. I let him digest the information he just got from his friend. Maybe that way he believed that the one who attacked the humans in the city was not me and Erick. I'm staring. He returned my gaze.
"I'll help you find the mastermind behind this murder." I told him in a convincing tone.
He nodded without protest. I stepped into Erick's place and untied the bond that shackled his hands and feet. Erick jumped to his feet while stretching his body.
"I'm finally free of that damn chain!" He said while sighing in relief.
This time Roland was on the same side as me.
