SCARLETT (Kiss From The Darkness)

SCARLETT (Kiss From The Darkness)
Chapter 6

Roland invited us to his house. At first I hesitated to obey him. But after I thought about what I was worried about just because of a human like him. I glanced at Erick. He tilted his head while raising his eyebrows at me. It seemed like he handed the decision back then to me. I finally agreed to Roland's invitation to come with her. Just in case, I don't want to be in a car with him. We each drove our own car. Erick and I followed him towards his house.

It was almost 10 p.m. The three of us entered the courtyard of a house that was not too big. Roland parked his car next to his house. Erick and I parked our car in front of the house. The house is classic. Roland walked towards the terrace of his house. He opened the door and let us in. Erick and I followed him into his living room.

The room is minimalist style. I saw several rifles hanging on the wall near the fireplace. Above the fireplace is a horned deer head that has been preserved. I looked around the room for any sign of danger or anything suspicious. I saw Erick do the same. He looked around for danger signs. However we felt that Roland was not too dangerous. To the right of the room is a brown minimalist sofa. Just this time I saw Roland's living room, because at that time I ran away by jumping through his bedroom window. Roland let us sit on the sofa.

"You like to hunt, huh?" Erick asked as he pointed at the deer head that was above the fireplace.

"Yes, just to drive away the boredom," Roland replied with a small smile.

I looked at the wall where there were three rifles hanging neatly there. Maybe he was out hunting in the woods and found me helpless after I got an attack from the masked hunter that night.

Roland walked towards the other room. Erick and I sat on the couch alert. Until this moment we still can't really trust Roland.

Five minutes later I saw Roland return to the living room with a bottle of coke and three glasses in his hand. He put it all on the table in front of us. He poured the coke into a glass. I still watch all the movements. He took a glass of coke and held it with one hand while sitting on the chair opposite the sofa. He raised his glass towards us as if to allow us to drink. I looked towards Erick. He looked back at me without speaking.

"Are you two unable to drink the drink humans used to drink?" ask her while smiling sideways. "Should I provide another drink suitable for creatures like you?" he said while insinuating. "Do I have to provide blood for you to drink?" He asked as he raised both eyebrows and tilted his head slightly.

I grabbed the glass and turned to Erick for him to do the same with me. What Roland really wants from me. To this day, I don't know who Roland is and what powers he has. I'm sure he's human. But it is not like humans in general.

I raised my glass towards him and then I took a sip of the coke. Erick did the same.

"Tell me what you really want!" I said slowly while staring intently at him.

"Why are you two in such a hurry?" He asked in a relaxed gesture and got up from his seat. He walked closer to us. I saw his posture so upright. Had he not been annoying, I would have grabbed him into my arms.

"Me and Scarlett don't have much time to play around with a creature like you, you son of a bitch!" Erick said half an emotion.

Hearing him say my name in such a tone made my hair goosebumps.

"Don't waste my time on your nonsense." I placed my glass with a rather loud bang on the table and I stood in front of it while challenging it.

"Don't get angry that way." He laughed as he shook the glass he had been holding.

I began to feel my emotions rising above my head. This guy really ruined my night.

"Don't play games with me!" I approached him with my eyes staring.

Why doesn't this guy feel intimidated by me. Damn again why he didn't feel fascinated by me. Usually all men will be instantly fascinated when they first see me. Not so with Roland. I felt a rising anger.

"If you only intend to waste our time, Erick and I will leave this place now." I threatened.

He leaned over to place his glass slowly on the table. It seems he is acting a bit excessive. He stood up straight again and looked at me again with his sharp eyes as if he was very good at interrogating criminals.

"Should I ask you why you came here and preyed on so many innocent victims?" He asked with burning eyes.

He moved closer to me with a threatening look. I saw Erick standing quickly beside me to protect me. I'm holding.

"I don't understand what you're saying." I said calmly as I returned his burning gaze.

"Don't make a show, Miss!" He snorted while looking towards the fireplace. "I know you're not human. You're a blood-sucking creature that preys on innocent humans around here. There's been more casualties you've taken in the last few days. And I won't let you take any more victims!" This time it was like he was going to attack me.

I intended to block his attack but I felt my body fall to the floor. I glanced at Erick and I saw him fall down beside me. What Roland did to me and Erick. That drink .. ah yes that drink. Roland must have put poison in the drink that Erick and I drank. Consciousness disappeared. Everything's dark.
