SCARLETT (Kiss From The Darkness)

SCARLETT (Kiss From The Darkness)
Chapter 17

"I need help from that jerk you love." Damon got up from the sofa and walked towards the door.

"Where are you going?" I asked while standing from the sofa where I was sitting.

"Finding the man you love" she said.

"You mean Roland?" I asked with glaring eyes.

"So the guy you kissed last night was named Roland?" Now Damon's tone is like hiding jealousy.

I rolled my eyeballs hearing his words.

"What are you looking for?" I stepped up and stood right in front of him.

"Of course to find information. I can't possibly ask her to go back into your arms!" said cynical.

"Stop talking like you're jealous!" I said no less cynical than him.

He snorted and walked out of the living room.

"I'll go with you." I followed him without asking for his approval.

"Hey. How's me?" Erick shouted from inside the living room.

"You're here!" Shouted from the direction of the page.

I heard Erick's swearing from the direction of the living room.

"You're babysitting her like a child." Damon laughed at me.

"Yes, he's like a brother to me." I said to Damon.

We drive my car. I let Damon drive. I called Roland on the phone. But he did not pick up his phone. Is he still mad at me? Was he mad because I kicked him out of the house or was he angry that he saw me hugging Damon on the balcony? I don't know. My love story seems more complicated than the situation in this city.

Damon was speeding towards the city center. We hope to find Roland there. Perhaps Roland would patrol there along with the other policemen. So Roland was a policeman who was also a member of the vampire hunter clan. Is there any hope for us to be together? I'm clearing my mind. Right now I have to focus on finding the culprits of the city's buggers.

We got to the city center. Damon and I got out of the car and looked around the park. There was no sign of Roland there.

"Where is that jerk?" Ask Damon to me.

"Stop calling him that!" my word.

Damon snorted annoyedly hearing myself defend Roland.

"Maybe we should look for him at his house." I gave him advice.

Damon nodded in agreement to my suggestion. We got back in the car and drove to Roland's house. I told Damon about the road leading to Roland's house. Damon followed my lead even though his face looked irritated. She was obviously jealous of Roland. I never thought I would be in a position like this.

We both got to Roland's house. Damon and I got out of the car. I saw Roland's car parked in front of his house which means Roland was at home.

I walked towards the front door. Damon walked beside me. I knocked on that door. There were footsteps from inside the house approaching the door. The door creaked open and Roland was wearing black jeans and a black t-shirt with a pistol always pinned to his waist. Seeing him standing in front of me made my heart flutter. I really am like a teenager in the wild. I looked at Roland's face who was surprised to see us standing in front of his door.

"Wow, why would a pair of vampires look for me in broad daylight like this?" He said with a cynical tone.

"I want to talk to you." I answered him politely. I tried to cover up my nervousness being nearby. Damnit. Why am I so nervous.

Roland raised his eyebrows while looking at me.

"Where was your boyfriend with you here? Have you broken up with her? Do you have a new date?" He uttered that sentence very cynically.

I ignored the question.

"This is your new boyfriend?" Roland still ignored Damon. He still locked his eyes on me.

"The man I was with was here, he was Erick. He's like my brother." I explained to her.

"Oh, apparently this is your boyfriend." He pointed towards Damon.

"So what you say! Or I'll tear you apart!" Damon threatened Roland with a tone full of emotion.

"Well, you're jealous of her." Roland said that sentence with a cynical smile.

"Stop your bullshit!" I looked at Roland. "If you want to stop the chaos that's going on in the city, we have to work together to catch the vampires that are still out there looking for the next victim" I added.

"Vampires hunt vampires?" His grunts. "I find it hard to believe this." She laughs.

"Listen, I can explain this as long as you want to help us." I tried to be patient with Roland.

"All right." He opened the door and let us in.

Damon and I went in and sat in the living room. I looked around again. Exactly this is still exactly the same as when Erick and I came here a while ago. Damon was sitting right next to me. Our thighs touch each other. Maybe Damon deliberately sat so close to me because he wanted Roland to see our closeness.

I saw Roland staring at us. I saw the flames of jealousy in his eyes. Then Roland must have liked me too. If he doesn't like me, he won't stare at jealousy like that. That thought made me happy.

"What do you want?" Roland asked without further ado.

"You're a vampire hunter." Damon smiled as if to remind Roland that he had lied to me.

I saw Roland glancing at me with a guilty look.

"You must have a variety of information about our species. I need that information to catch this fucking asshole." Damon said it out loud.

"It's funny" Roland said with a laugh. "Vampires ask vampire hunters for help in catching vampires!" This time he laughed.

'Stop!" I got up from the sofa in a rage that seemed to make my head boil.

Roland looked at me.

"You should be ashamed!" I pointed towards Roland. "You deliberately played me and pretended that you saved me that night just so I felt indebted to you!" I said that sentence while panting with emotion.

Roland scrunched his forehead.

"I did save you that night!" He said it in earnest. "I swear I'm not the one who stabbed you!"

I swallowed and looked at him in disbelief. Not her? Then who was the masked man who stabbed me that night?

"There's a lot of vampire hunters in town. I'm not the only one in town." He said it while sitting across from me.

"There's someone else who knows my true identity," I said slowly.

Roland nodded slowly.

"I need information about vampires who attack humans blatantly. This must be a vampire thousands of years old." Damon explained to Roland. "He bravely defied the rule of the Dark God."

Roland digested Damon's words.

"Why do you believe so much that I'll be on your side?" Roland asked Damon.

"Because we both know, you can't hurt Scarlett." Damon and Roland looked at each other.
