Chapter 41

Me and Roland took a shower and tidied up. We then decided to return to my house.

When I got home, I was greeted by Leda. He said Damon came and looked for me.

"He left you a letter" said Leda.

I looked up at the table in the living room and saw a piece of paper there. I grabbed the paper and opened it. I know Damon's handwriting.

*Honey, I will continue my adventure of seeing the world. Sorry I left so soon. I hope you're always happy with your man. *

Greetings to you, Scarlett.

I folded the paper. Damon is gone. Did he leave with the hurt I caused? I don't know. I hope wherever he is, he's always happy. I love him like a brother.

Maybe it's better like this. We continue our lives each. Damon travels back to the corners of the world as he always does.

I thought back to Damon. Whether we would be able to meet again, the question swirled in my mind. I thought back to my desire to be human.

Damon hasn't had a chance to know about my deepest desires. He also did not know about the Chosen One. Could it be that he agreed if I wanted to go back to being human? I lost that thought.

Right now I'm relieved to know that Damon's okay. I hope he will find his happiness somewhere in this part of the world.

"There's something I want to talk to you about" said Leda.

"What's wrong?" tense many.

Leda pulled my hand and took me to another room as if she did not want Roland to hear what he was about to say.

After the two of us made sure that Roland would not be able to hear our conversation, Leda brought herself closer to me to whisper.

"Me and Erick have actually .. "he didn't continue his sentence.

I saw her cheeks blushing and she smiled shyly at me.

"Ah, Leda." I hugged him tightly.

I am happy for both of them. From the beginning I always wanted Leda to have a partner who could make her happy.

"Leda, you know what it's like for me to cry happily for you!" myrag.

Leda laughed happily with me.

"Scarlett, I want you to be happy with Roland" she said with teary eyes.

I patted her shoulder.

"Don't make me want to cry!" myrag.

Leda hugged me back.

"Where's Erick?" manya curious.

"He was out for a while to check his house" he said.

I'm nodding. I remembered that I had not told Leda about my meeting with Meredith.

"There's something I want to tell you" I said slowly.

Leda raised both of her eyebrows with a curious look on her face.

"So I met Meredith" I said slowly.

"Meredith?" tanyakanya.

"She is the daughter of the Forgotten Wise" I said.

Leda nodded in understanding.

"The magician who turned you into a vampire" he said slowly.

I nodded slowly.

"Leda, she knows the truth about Roland" I said.

"You mean, he knows that Roland is the Chosen One?" tanyanya while frowning.

I nodded in agreement.

"Leda, maybe I should bury my desire to return to being human" I said.

Leda looked at me with sympathy.

"I can't possibly sacrifice Roland" I said, holding back my tears.

Leda patted my shoulder slowly. We were both surprised to hear Roland's voice.

"What do you mean?" Roland asked that to me as he walked up to the two of us.

I looked at him with anxious feelings. Did he hear what I said, I thought to myself.

"When are you here?" my many.

"Jawab me first! What do you mean you can't sacrifice me?" tanyanya while scrunched his forehead.

I stood before him. I can't explain this to her.

Roland grabbed my shoulder and looked me in the eye.

"Scarlett, answer me!" abugn.

I can't tell Roland the truth.

"Does this have anything to do with what Meredith said on the beach?" tanyakanya.

I shook my head slowly.

"Scarlett, answer!" he said while shaking my shoulder.

I tried to hold back my tears from falling.

"He can explain it to you" Erick's voice shocked us.

We turned towards Erick who was with Meredith at the time.

"How did you meet him?" I asked Erick.

"I met him by accident, when he found out that I was your friend, he asked to see you." Erick explained briefly.

"Scarlett, I have good news for you" Meredith said without further ado.

Meredith walked over to me.

"I opened the ancient record of how to remove the curse tonight." He cut out his sentence to stare at me and Roland in turn.

I saw Roland looking at her with a curious look on his face.

"Scarlett, what you need to remove your curse is not to sacrifice the life of the Chosen One, but to sacrifice blood as an offering in this ritual." He explained with a happy face.

I felt hope begin to grow in my soul. Does this mean I can return to being human without having to sacrifice Roland's life?

"Would that mean I could go back to being human without having to. "my words were cut off by Meredith's nod.

I shed happy tears.

"Yes, all it takes is a little blood from the Chosen One and I will remove your curse" he said, smiling at me.

I shed happy tears. I looked at Roland and I found him looking at me with a look of happiness in his eyes.

"When can the ritual be done?" Roland asked with passion.

"Right now" said Meredith.

I looked at everything in the room. All the faces there looked at me with happy looks for me. This time my dream will come true. I can go back to being human and live a normal life with Roland.

Meredith prepared some of the necessary things for this ritual. He prepared incense and candles and also a small vessel for Roland's blood.

After he felt ready, he started the ritual and told Roland to injure his arm and ask him to fill the small vessel with his blood. Roland obeyed his orders.

The smell of incense was so strong in the room. Erick and Leda waited in the other room. There are only three of us here.

After he finished reciting some spells, Meredith told me to drink the blood that was in the small vessel earlier. I immediately drank the blood.

"Done," said Meredith.

Along with his words, I lost consciousness.

I don't know how long I've been unconscious. I tried to open my eyes and felt a great pain in my head.

I blinked my eyes and saw Roland's face on top of me. He smiled at me.

I felt a different sensation from my body.

"I'm so worried about you" Roland said as he kissed my forehead.

I tried to get up and sit down. Roland helped me to sit down.

I saw that I was already in my room. Roland sat on my right. While Leda and Erick sat to my left on the edge of the bed.

I feel my heart beating. I put one of my hands on my chest and realized that right now my heart was really coming to life.

I felt my tears in my eyes. I looked towards Roland. He nodded towards me while smiling.

"My heart .. ," I whispered.

"Yes, your heart is beating" Roland said, smiling with love.

I can no longer hold back my tears. I let it fall down my cheek. This time I cried happily. I felt Roland embrace me.

I put my head on her shoulder and felt her heartbeat. This time my heart beat with the same rhythm as Roland's heart.

I let go of Roland's embrace and looked towards Leda and Erick.

They both smiled happily to see me.

"Leda, I'm no longer .. ," my voice choked.

Whether Leda and Erick will still accept me as before, I thought to myself.

"You're still our Scarlett" Erick said, hugging Leda's shoulder.

I shed happy tears again. Well, it turns out the world isn't as cruel as I once thought.
