Chapter 28

Leda stood tall on the porch of my house. She stood a queen. Erick stood behind him like an aide. All the wolves still bowed respectfully in his place.

I watched as the wolves turned into humans. Roland looked surprised by what he saw. Damon looked at the sight with admiration.

"I order you all to return to your respective territories." Leda spoke it out in a loud voice.

"We feel You hurt, Alpha!" A werewolf man stood up from his spot with one hand placed on his chest.

"I'm fine." This time Leda's voice turned even quieter.

All those wolves were still in place with worried gazes. The herd consisted of five men and five women.

"Go back to your place!" This time Leda ordered in a stern tone.

"We are ready to fight whoever attacks you, Alpha!" The man werewolf said it with a solemn tone.

"Alright," said Leda, "This time I command you to return to your place! And don't move again without waiting for my orders!" Leda said it out loud.

Hearing the command of the Alpha, the werewolf swarm immediately left my house. I'm still standing in the yard watching the werewolves go. This time they went with a human form.

"Wow! It turns out he's the Alpha." Damon amazed.

I walked over to Leda and stood right in front of her.

"For all those years you lived with me, you never said you were an Alpha." I asked curious.

"That's it," said Leda. "It doesn't really matter if I'm an Alpha or not." He's taking us in.

"I hear the werewolves will feel when the Alpa is wounded." Roland said that while walking beside me.

"You know a lot about immortal beings." I looked towards him.

"Yes, I'm happy to learn about the legends that are circulating in society." She added.

No wonder he could instantly recognize my true identity the first time we met.

We all gathered in the living room.

"We need to move immediately against Victor. I heard that the new vampires in town have started to roam around a lot and take down some victims."

"That sounds bad" Erick said.

"It looks like we have to fight Victor and the vampire troupe" Damon said, shaking his head.

"We have vampire hunters here." I said it with a proud tone while looking towards Roland.

Damon snorted at my words. He still acts like a jealous teenager.

"I can ask the werewolf herd to be on our side." Leda said it with complete conviction.

We're staring. He looked clumsy when all eyes were on him. This is the Leda I know.

"Will they agree?" My toot.

We nodded in understanding.

Suddenly there was smoke in my living room. We all stiffen up.

There, the figure of the Dark God appeared. Unlike a few days ago when he was wearing an expensive suit, this time he was wearing his robe suit. His appearance grew even more intimidating coupled with the blazing flames burning in both of his eyes.

We all waited for him to speak.

He walked towards us. I feel a real tension in this room.

"I haven't had satisfactory results yet" he said coldly.

We don't answer.

"I don't have much patience." He continued as he moved closer to me.

I gulped as his cold hand grabbed my hand. He pulled me up to face him. I felt Roland stiffen beside me. I goosebumps when he pecks the back of my hand.

"You're busy messing with the man, my dear." He said it with a slanted smile and his gaze was fixed on Roland.

"He's on our side." I said it with a firm tone.

"Ah, you seem to like it a lot." He laughed at me.

"If he thinks a little bit about betraying me, then I'll eliminate him." The Dark God said that in a threatening tone.

"I'm betting with my life that he won't betray you!" I convinced.

"Scarlett, don't fall in love too deeply with humans, honey!" The Dark God still holds my hand.

"I swear I'm on your side!" This time Roland got up and walked towards me. He stood beside me.

"Wow, there seems to be a different love story here!" The Dark God laughed while clapping his hands.

Suddenly he stopped his laughter and this time he looked at me with a look that gave me goosebumps.

"I gave you 24 hours to bring Victor's head to me. If not, then you must come with me and become the Dark Queen of my palace." He threatened me.

I heard his threat. The Dark Lord suddenly disappeared from my living room.

I was still staring at the place where he disappeared. My body stiffens. What did he mean by wanting to take me to his palace? I'm not gonna follow him. I don't want to be her bride!

I felt Roland's hand embrace my shoulder. I looked towards him. We are all still tense at his threat.

"We must defeat Victor immediately" I said slowly.

"We'll be with you." Damon walked over to me and patted me on the shoulder.

I looked towards Leda and Erick who were nodding towards me.

I have those who are willing to protect me. I need not fear the threat of the Dark God.
