We stiffened up waiting for what would happen after I blew that trumpet.
One second ... two .. three ... Puffs ...
There was a dark plume of smoke that enveloped us. I felt a floating sensation like when I teleported into fog. Perhaps others also felt a sensation like the one I felt.
I don't know how long the five of us have been shrouded in fog. Suddenly we felt the smog vanish and we were in my personal library right inside a large circle drawn on the floor. The smell of incense still enveloped the room. The candle Roland had lit had dimmed and melted to the floor.
I feel a nauseous sensation. I looked the other way. Their faces also showed a frowning expression. But what made my heart seem to jump was when Roland suddenly collapsed onto the floor.
"Roll!" My screams.
I knelt down and grabbed him into my arms. I patted her on the cheek while calling her name.
"It looks like he fainted" said Leda.
I stared questioningly at Leda.
"Perhaps for humans, teleportation makes their bodies lose power. Especially after she lost blood." Leda explained to me.
I stared at the wound on Roland's arm where I drank his blood in the palace of darkness. I feel guilty for him. If I drank too much of his blood, I started to blame myself.
"Roland, get up" I said, patting her on the cheek gently.
"Let him rest" said Leda.
I followed his words. I carried Roland and brought him to my room. Erick, Leda, and Damon also left my library and it looks like they need some rest.
Arriving at my room, I put Roland on the bed. I touched the wound on his arm. Roland's face was so pale. What if I drink too much from him?
"Roland, I'm sorry" I whispered as I touched her cheek.
I took a bandage and bandaged the wound on his arm. It might be true what Leda said that Roland needed a break.
I covered him up and let him rest. I looked back at Roland's face. My mind again recalls the Dark God saying that I defy rules because I am related to humans. Then what does this mean? Will this be fatal to Roland?
I looked back at Roland's face. I don't want him to get hurt. Even I would be willing to sacrifice my life for her sake.
I climbed onto my bed and lay down beside her while hugging her. Roland is so special. His blood is not like human blood in general. The strength of his mind also exceeded that of an average human.
I let my body relax. Lately my life has been so exhausting. I want to rest for a while. Even though I don't need to sleep like a human, lying down like this makes my muscles relax.
My hand I put on Roland's chest, I like his heart rhythm so much. Will my heart someday live like hers? That desire disturbed my mind.
In my heart, I want to be human again. I want Roland to feel my heart beating when I am so close to him. I want to age with him.
I'm waiting for Roland to wake up. Maybe it's early morning. I heard the sound of birds singing.
I got up and sat down beside him. I gently rubbed his face. Roland opened his eyes slowly.
"You're awake" I said with a smile.
Roland scrunched his forehead. Maybe he's still dizzy from last night.
"Roland, forgive me," I said softly.
"There's no need to apologize" he said, telling me to get closer.
I put my face closer to her. We looked long before our lips were united. The kiss seemed to bind our souls even more.
"Roland .. " I whispered.
He looked me in the eye.
"What's wrong?"
"It looks like your stomach is starting to rebel" I said, laughing.
Roland realized what I meant. He laughed when he realized he was hungry.
"No, you have to eat!" I ordered in a firm tone.
"All right, I'll obey your orders." He said it while laughing.
Roland tried to get up. He glanced at the bandage in his hand.
"Roland, did I hurt you last night?" my question was pointing towards the bandage.
"Absolutely not," he said, rising from the bed.
"You're here, I'll get you some food" I said, telling him to sit down.
"Alright, ma'am," he said with a laugh that sounded so crisp.
I kissed her cheek gently and walked out of the room to get her some food. I stopped my steps at the door of my room and turned to look at her. Roland smiled at me. My soul seemed to float realizing how much she loved me.
Arriving in the kitchen, I saw Leda was brewing coffee for herself. He smiled when he saw me.
"How are you doing?" my many.
"I feel so fit" he said, laughing. He doesn't want to worry me.
"How's Roland doing?" tanyakanya.
"He's up, I'll bring him some food" I said.
"I'll prepare breakfast for him" he said.
I nodded towards him.
"Where are Erick and Damon?" manya curious.
"They went home to each other. I didn't forbid it. The situation is improving." He said it while smiling.
"Why don't you take a bag of blood?" Leda asked as she pointed towards the refrigerator where I kept many bags of blood.
I shook towards him. Leda tilted her head to the side of a sign she was curious about.
"Leda, there's something I want to tell you," I said slowly.
Leda looked at me with a curious face.
"Every night, when I drank Roland's blood, something happened that I couldn't understand" I told him.
Leda raised both eyebrows.
I thought about how to explain the sensation to her.
"I felt something strange. Not only was Roland's energy flowing into me but all of the emotions he felt as if they were hitting my mind like waves" I explained.
I saw Leda furrow both of her eyebrows
"Until now I still feel as if my energy is so strong, I have not felt thirsty at all. I also saw a wall that seemed to be blocking his mind, maybe that's why I couldn't manipulate his mind back then." I added.
Leda listened to my explanation with a very serious look on her face.
"Scarlett, ... " He called me in a serious tone.
I waited for him to continue his sentence.
"That means he's the Chosen One?" Leda said it with a serious face.
Silence was between us. Roland is the Chosen One? It means that his blood contains a power that is able to remove the curse that is on me. His blood is a purifier for creatures like me. The blood of the Chosen One will be able to transform me back into a human being.
But, to be able to return to being human, a vampire like myself would have to sacrifice the souls of the Chosen One.
I felt tension all over my body. That means, if I want to go back to being human, I have to sacrifice Roland's soul. I can't possibly do it!
