The Past of David and Fathur (Part 2)

"If I have proof, is Aunt ready if I report back Aunty's son?" david said, All eyes were staring at him.

"You want to threaten me?" Mama Damar did not believe David's words.

David reached into his uniform pocket, then pulled out his cell phone.

"All the evidence is here, sir. Please see for yourself." David handed over his cell phone to the Principal.

Mr. Gofur received the phone given by David, then immediately opened it.

The girl ran to leave David's house.

A month has passed since that incident. David felt there was a difference from Arumi's attitude that looked more reserved. Every time David asks why? his best friend's answer was "It's okay".

That morning, after finishing sports lessons, David approached Arumi who was picking up clothes instead in their school locker. David wants to ask again why his best friend has changed lately.

Arumi's tears are getting worse. He also did not want to avoid David, but the closer he got to David, his heart demanded more feelings and he knew if he continued to let it he would get hurt more. Because, he knew that his best friend had no more feelings for him.

Arumi turned her body and looked at David. The tears had already washed his cheeks. " You're not wrong, Dave. I was wrong, I was too stupid and expected more. Please, let me be like this, getting closer to you will only make me sicker" he said. "I'm sorry, Dave." Arumi takes her hand off David's and leaves his best friend with all the questions in David's mind.

David tried to digest every sentence issued by Arumi's mouth this morning, so that he could not digest every lesson given by his teacher, because he was too focused on Arumi's words to him.

What did Arumi mean this morning? is it possible that Arumi has more feelings for me? Then, why has he never told me directly? If Arumi really likes me, then why would she choose to stay away from me?

David's eyes were fixed on the figure who was standing beside Fathur. Yes, it is Arumi. The girl looks very cute with a baby pink knee-length dres wrapped around her tiny body. "Woi, don't look at my boyfriend for long!" said Fathur who is now standing next to David and closed his best friend's eyes with his palm. David who was surprised to release the hand of Fathur who stared questioningly at his best friend.

"Yes, we were officially made yesterday" said Fathur who is now sitting on the front bench of David, right next to Arumi who is now officially his girlfriend.

"We deliberately do not tell you first, because we want a surprise for you on the Anniversary of our friendship tonight," continued Fathur again.

David was silent, he looked at Arumi who was just downcast. "Congratulations, for you," said David.

That night David was quieter. He did not enjoy the food he ate. Occasionally he steals a look at Arumi who never looks at him. It turns out that someone who is sick sees the person he loves with others, even more so it is his own friend.

In fact, the time that passed so quickly was not able to erode David's love for Arumi. The last year of living life in school made him feel more pain every day when he saw the togetherness of Fathur and Arumi.

David's suffering did not only get there, even he had to live life on the same campus with his two best friends. David felt he could not escape the shadows of Arumi every day. The more he tried to forget the girl, the harder it was for him to do. David plans to leave the school and move to London. He hopes to forget about Arumi and start his new life there.

However, before he went to London, he did not realize Arumi had known his decision.

That afternoon, heavy rain poured into the capital. David who was standing down the stairs on his campus was shocked by the presence of Arumi in front of him. He saw the girl sobbing, Her cheeks were wet with tears.

"You're bad, Dave. You're really gonna leave me. Did I mean nothing to you all this time, Dave?" Arumi is getting sobbing.

"Maybe I'm stupid to expect more of you, but isn't there even the slightest bit of love in your heart for me, Dave?" Arumi's cry increasingly broke along with the swift rain that fell. David took Arumi into his arms. He clutched the body of the girl he loved so much.

"I'm sorry, Arumi. I was too cowardly to express my feelings. I don't want to ruin our friendship. Fathur also loves you very much, Arumi." Arumi grew sobbing when David expressed his feelings, so, all this time his feelings were not just clapping one hand.

"Then, why don't you say it, Dave? are you not also entitled to my love, and I am also entitled to choose to love anyone?" Arumi leaped into David's arms and looked at the young man before her demanding an answer.

"I'm sorry Arumi" he said softly.

"In fact I still can't open my heart to Fathur, Dave. I was wrong when I thought I could forget you and make you hurt that I accepted Fathur's love. The fact is I can't forget you one bit." Arumi looked at David.

David looked at Arumi with tears already nurturing in the corner of his eyes.

"Arumi, Fathur loves you so much, I'm sure he can make you happy. Maybe we are just destined to love each other without having each other" said David holding Arumi's hand. "I'm sorry, I'm going to London anyway" David continued.

Arumi's cries were breaking. "You're bad, Dave!" Arumi let go of David's hand and ran out. As David was about to chase after him, he saw Fathur already standing before him. The eyes of Fathur were full of anger.

"Thur ...."

BUM

a punch landed on David's face, his body staggered to the side of the stairs.

"BASTARD LO!" A punch landed again on David's face, until the young man was knocked on the floor. Fathur then leaves him, running after Arumi.

"ARUMMY!!" fathur shouted when he found Arumi's body lying unconscious in the middle of the road. Fresh blood flowed from Arumi's head. In the midst of the rain that fell. Fathur embraced the lifeless body of his lover.
