Sorry (Part 2)

For a moment, David was only stunned to see a familiar figure in the room. Not only Rendy and Richard and his family, but there are several other familiar figures who have gathered there, one of which is Aretha.

The outpatient room with VVIP class is indeed quite spacious, so it can accommodate quite a lot of people. So, no wonder some people can enter the room.

David looked at the girl, and vice versa. They seem to be looking at. His gaze locked for a moment. The same gaze, as if throwing disappointment at each other was also the sadness of the two. However, not a word came out of their mouths.

David had already racked his brain repeatedly, but he still did not understand the meaning of all that. Aretha who suddenly went missing and could not find, despite being searched around the hospital, but why was the girl suddenly in Richard's nursery that Rendy had clearly told her that Aretha was not in?

Not only that. Something was more surprising to him. The existence of both Aretha's parents and his uncle there, also makes David more confused, no matter what they are doing there? Maybe they just went to see Richard?

However, it seems David's guess was wrong, especially when he found a ruler who had been going to marry him to Aretha. He was increasingly convinced that Aretha and her family were not only intending to visit Richard at the time, but that there was another purpose.

What the hell is it? Why are they all suddenly here? Is this why Aretha left me? Would she marry Richard? It's gonna hurt a lot for me, Re!

A myriad of questions had filled the man's head. As hard as he dismissed all his feelings of disappointment, still he was unable to do so. And that was the hardest thing for him.

He still realized that it started with his mistake. However, did he have to accept such a bitter reply, by watching Aretha and Richard get married in front of his own eyes, or perhaps they were already married?

I don't know. It is likely that the marriage had already taken place, when he saw two doctors there, who were allegedly witnesses to their marriage.

Ah, that would really make that man even more tormented. However, it was likely that he would often see Richard and Aretha together, or even make out in front of him, if they were truly married. And it felt like he was still not so strong as to accept it all.

"Dave, in!" rendy, who was standing a few meters away from him, was right next to Richard, who was still lying on the bed.

Apparently, the operation made Richard quite difficult to move, even if just sitting.

Rendy's words didn't make David flinch in the least. The man was still struggling with the various thoughts that were in his brain. Thoughts that are not necessarily the truth.

Is this pain what it feels like? In fact, this hurts more than when it was betrayed by Freya, my former lover.

Wasn't that her wish, seeing Aretha marry Richard, her dying best friend? Nah! It's wrong!

To be honest, from the bottom of his heart, he really did not want it all to happen. It's just that he was made to panic by circumstances that forced him to be willing to sacrifice, for the happiness of his best friend. But that was the biggest mistake he ever made in his entire life. He was so sorry for that.

So, what should he do? Should he just let Aretha go? Or trying to defend it again, even though it's too late?

Kris, who was in the back, seemed to hold his son's shoulder to make the man jerk, then slightly twist his body, looking back.

"Come in" said Kris.

"But, Pa."

David was doubtful. However, Kris quickly nodded her head as if asking David to do what he told her to do.

David turned his head back to the front, looked at Aretha at a glance, then turned to the girl's family.

"Come, Dave! Why should you hang out there, anyway?" Richard looked down from a distance.

With a feeling of doubt and nervousness, the man began to slowly step up his legs, approaching some figures who were gathering there.

"Re, are you here?" the question was not answered by Aretha. In fact, just a smile or nod of the head he did not get from the girl.

David's views turned to Aretha's parents. "Om, Auntie," she said with doubt.

Although Anton and Carmila did not respond to her greeting, but at least they threw a friendly smile for her.

Doesn't last long. Since he was there to see Richard, the man immediately approached his friend, as for the matter with Aretha, he might be able to talk about it after the affair with Richard was over.

"How are you doing?" david asked flatly, slightly hiding his feelings of disappointment and regret.

Richard immediately published his smile. "Gue is good" he replied.

"Thank God. Sorry, I just had a look at you," replied David.

"Gue should be apologizing!" hatch Richard.

Why should he apologize? What's the harm? Is it possible that what I think is true? Damnit damnit! It seems like what I think is true, they are married. Yes, God ... Why does it have to end like this, anyway? Is there not a small chance for me to fix it?

A few questions ran back into his brain. As David knows, Richard has done nothing wrong to her, except that she has indeed married Aretha secretly behind him. His relationship with Aretha is not over.

"No! I was wrong! From the beginning I was wrong, you don't have to apologize" David said. "If only I could think of a little bit of Aretha's feelings, maybe things wouldn't be like this" he added.

Whatever hurt David felt at the time, he did not want to make the second mistake of prioritizing his own ego. If indeed it had been Aretha's choice, he was willing to sacrifice his own feelings.

However, Aretha's happiness was the most important thing for her. And he was ready to prioritize that, despite having to feel deep pain.

Had he still been given the chance to keep Aretha with him, it was certain he would have done so. However, when in reality he was too late, then what could he do, besides give it up?

Richard seemed to frown, when he heard David's statement at the time, as if he did not understand the meaning of his friend's words.

"Honestly, I don't understand what you mean" Richard said.

David forced his little laugh. "Here you go, I deserve all of this" replied David.

"Dave, that's not what I mean."
