The Story of the Little Beggar

The Story of the Little Beggar
Getting a Lost Identity

A few weeks later, when spring had turned into a sunny summer, they gathered again in the same city park. They feel happy that they have been able to help the woman and change her life for the better.

However, as they were talking about their plans for this summer, the sound of footsteps approached them. When they turned around, they saw a middle-aged man standing in front of them.

The man looked angry and emotional. "You're the beggars who helped that woman, right?"

Aryan replied cautiously, "Yes, we helped the woman. What's going on?"

The man sighed and explained that the woman was his sister whom they had been looking for a long time. The two of them had been separated for many years and had never had any contact with each other.

Maya asked heartily, "Have you guys reunited yet?"

The man smiled and cried at once. "Yes, thanks to your help, we were finally able to reunite. We've missed each other for years."

They were all happy for the man and his sister. The woman they helped turned out to have a family who sought her out desperately, and they had managed to find her thanks to the kindness Aryan, Maya, Dian, Rizal, and Irfan had given her.

The man thanked me from the bottom of his heart. "You are the guardian angels who have helped us rediscover each other."

Irfan added, "This is a reminder that we all have the ability to make a difference in the lives of others."

The night came, and they all sat under the bright shining stars. They feel grateful that they have been able to help the woman reunite with her family, and they know that the kindness they spread will always have a far greater impact than they imagined.

In the warm moonlight, they all contemplated the true meaning of friendship and kindness. They learn that no matter how small an act of kindness is, it can change a person's life. And they promise to continue to share the good in their empathetic and hopeful life journey.

Night has come down in this great city. The glittering light from the tall buildings reflected onto the surface of the road that was wet by the rain had just subsided. Aryan, Maya, Dian, Rizal, and Irfan gathered at a street corner that had already become their usual place. They sit on the cold sidewalks, playing their music with passion, trying to fill the night of this city with the tones of their lives.

But tonight is a different night. A black luxury car stopped near them, and a well-dressed man got out of the car. He looks angry and impatient.

The man was Daniel Wijaya, a wealthy businessman who owned many businesses in the city. He is one of the most important figures in the city and is often reported in the media as a successful and influential figure. Today, however, it seems that he is not in a good mood.

Daniel approached the beggar's group of children with firm steps. His stern face reflected his disapproval of the situation. "What are you guys thinking? How can you sit here and be noisy like this? You're ruining the image of this city!"

Aryan, who had always been the group's spokesperson, tried to explain softly, "I'm sorry for us, sir. We're just trying to make a living playing music."

Daniel shook his head furiously. "This is the main street of this city, not your music scene! You are disturbing the order and beauty of this city. I'm so sick of seeing people like you littering this town."

Irfan, who has just recovered from his serious injury, is trying to maintain calm. "We don't mean to interfere, sir. We're just trying to survive and share a little happiness through music."

However, Irfan's words did not gain the sympathy of Daniel. Instead, the rich man grew even more furious. "Life is hard, young man. If you want to succeed, you have to work hard and try better than this."

Maya who was usually calm also tried to speak. "We understand that, sir. But sometimes life doesn't always give us a chance. We're just trying to survive."

Rizal added, "And we have no intention to disturb anyone's comfort. We just want our lives."

However, Daniel continued to be fiery. "You lazy young people! If you want to succeed, stop playing music on the road and get a decent job!"

Dian, who has always been an empathetic figure, tried to explain patiently, "Sir, we want to have a decent job, but to get it, he said, we need to have a legitimate identity and equal opportunity. We're not so lucky as you might imagine."

Daniel looked around and was impatient. "What's your excuse? You're just making this town look bad."

Just then, a passing passerby overheard their conversation and paused for a bit. He looked at the faces of the children who were full of struggle, and then turned to Daniel. "Maybe we should care more about the less fortunate than judge them."

Daniel snorted cynically. "It's not a matter of care, it's a matter of city order. They should know their place."

Aryan, who had been holding back his anger all along, started to lose patience. "We're also part of this city, sir. We are citizens of this city, just like you. We're trying to survive, not screw it up."

Suddenly, a young woman passing by with a grocery trolley approached the group. He seemed to think for a moment, then started talking in a loud voice, "I heard the music they were playing, and it was beautiful. This is a public road, and they have the same right to be here as the rest of us."

Daniel frowned. "You don't understand."

The conversation left Daniel silent for a moment. He realized that there were more sides to this story than there seemed. Finally, in a softer tone, he said, "Alright, but don't disturb this city anymore."

They all nodded in agreement, and Daniel returned to his car and left quickly. After he left, they returned to playing music with passion, feeling more united and grateful for the support of each other as well as from strangers who understood their struggles.

That night, they understand how difficult it is sometimes to face conflict with people who have different views. However, they also learn that kindness and empathy are always everywhere, even in conflict-ridden situations like these. And they are ready to face whatever comes in the course of their lives, with music and friendship as their source of strength.

After the incident with Daniel Wijaya, the beggar boy group refocuses on their quest for a legitimate identity. Daniel's statement that they should get a decent job still lingers in their minds. However, in order to do so, they knew that they needed to resolve their identity issues first.

They decided to seek help from a social worker. After several days of searching, they find a social worker named Bu Lestari who is willing to help them in the process of getting an identity.

Their first meeting with Bu Lestari took place at the social service office. The woman looked friendly and empathetic. "I'm so glad I could help you. Let's start by finding out if you have any birth records or other identity documents."

Rizal replied, "We have nothing, ma'am. We lost contact with our family when we were kids, and we never had an official identity."

Bu Lestari nodded with understanding. "We will try our best to help you get a legitimate identity. However, this won't be easy. The process may take time."

Aryan asked cautiously, "Is there any way to speed it up? We want to get an identity soon."

Ms. Lestari explained, "There are several procedures we can try, such as looking for witnesses or other evidence of your birth. But we also need to be prepared for the possibility that this will take a while."

Maya added, "We are ready to do anything. It's very important to us."

Process starts. They start looking for witnesses who may know about their birth or have evidence that can be used to help gain identity. It is a long and challenging journey, but they remain united and persevering in their efforts.

While they continue to work on their identity issues, Bu Lestari also gives them guidance on how to get a decent job. He arranged training for them to have the skills needed in the workforce, such as computer skills and public speaking skills.

Over the course of several months, the group of beggars faced various challenges in the process of gaining identity. They must undergo interviews with government officials, search for evidence of missing births, and undergo tests to prove their identity.

The biggest challenge comes when they have to find witnesses who can provide evidence of their birth. They visit places where they lived as children and try to meet people who might know them or their families.

One day, Aryan and Maya go to a small village on the outskirts of town. They talked to a village elder who might know about their birth. The elder recalled that he had seen them when they were babies, but he had no idea what happened next.

As they were talking to the village elder, suddenly a young woman appeared. He looked surprised to see Aryan and Maya. "Are you the children who were lost?"

Aryan and Maya are shocked. "Yes, it's us" Aryan said nervously.

The young lady smiled. "I am Sister Sari, your mother. We've been looking for you for years."

Tears flow from the eyes of Aryan and Maya as they are embraced by their long-lost mother. They felt relieved and happy that they could finally reunite with their mother after so long.

Meanwhile, Dian, Rizal, and Irfan are also making progress in their search for identity. With the help of Ms. Lestari, they finally obtained a valid birth record.

When they all regroup at the social service office, they feel like a complete family. They have overcome major conflicts in their lives and finally have a legitimate identity.

Bu Lestari smiled at their happiness. "You have shown tremendous perseverance and fortitude. I am proud to be able to help you on this journey."

Maya said sincerely, "Thank you, Miss Lestari, for all your help and support. You've changed our lives."

Dian added, "We learned that with friendship and perseverance, we can overcome any conflict in our lives."

Rizal agreed, "We are an example that even though we face great challenges, we can overcome them if we unite and remain determined."

Irfan, who had just met her biological mother again, smiled happily. "This is a new beginning for all of us. We have a legitimate identity and a caring family. We are ready to face the future with determination."

Together, the group of beggars have gone through many conflicts in their lives, but they have also learned about the power of friendship, empathy, and perseverance. They are ready to face the future with their heads held high, believing that together they can overcome all obstacles.
