The Ruler of the Two Continents
CHAPTER 5 - THE STORY OF MERLIN

A golden yellow light emerged from the shock, beautiful and warm. Blotted trees that stood covered in snow. The occasional chirping of small birds sounds soothing.

All the men in that simple house were still sleeping like babies who were tired of playing.

Merlin searched for a cloth bag with spices he had collected, and he found it, but the cloth bag was half overstressed by General Luzen.

Merlin pulled the bag slowly, suddenly his arm was caught quickly and held very tightly by the General who immediately woke up from his sleep.

Both are shocked..

“Aaww!..” Merlin's cry grimaced a little in pain.

General Luzen spontaneously immediately released his grip.

“ Aahh..sorry, sorry.you're okay?” ask the general a little worried. Then he rubbed his face rough.

“ Sorry miss, I didn't mean to hurt you.I was just shocked ”.

“ Yes, I'm fine sir.I'm also sorry to wake up your sleep, I just want to take this cloth bag” Merlin rubbed his arm that still hurts.

“ It's okay, I am often surprised when I wake up. Ah...Is it morning?” asked the General to see a little sunlight coming through the crack of the wooden wall.

“ Yes, it is morning ”Merlin stepped outwards. The smell of delicious food splashed into the room.

Outside Merlin was stirring up food in a large furnace.

“Aaarrgg...”Gadden evaporates while flexing his joints.

“ So far you've cooked miss?” the sturdy man folded his hands on his chest.

“ I made wheat porridge, otherwise you can help me split wood? The firewood is almost out.” Merlin was still stirring the porridge.

“ Alright, where's the wood?” Merlin pointed his finger at the pile of wood in his yard.

Gardden cut wood quickly. He is a strong man.

General Luzen and another came out of the warm house, both of them breathing the morning air, the general sat on a tree trunk cut into a seat, he folded his hands on his chest while occasionally blowing his palms out of the cold air, and the other man went around observing the scene.

“ Miss, may I ask you something?, why are you living alone in a place like this? Absolutely no humans live here” While splitting wood, Gardden asked curiously.

“ Actually I lived with my grandfather before grandfather died three years ago. My entire family was killed, no. Not even the entire Harbirt clan, all were destroyed”

The general turned his head in shock, as did Gardden, who spontaneously stopped his work for a moment. “ Why were they all killed? by who? ” ask Gardden curious.

“ Because the Harbirt clan is considered a bearer of doom, they are called to have demonic blood. Said my grandfather who killed my family and clan is King Zeroix ”.

“ Cih, the king of the damn bars again who acted “ Gardden stuck his axe into the tree trunk furiously.

“ What do you mean doom carrier? “ this time General Luzen started asking.

“ I don't really understand either, but my grandfather once said, if our clan is considered to have a very frightening power, so we are feared, shunned and destroyed so that our strength does not develop…I myself do not feel that I have that power, my grandfather and I can only concoct medicine, treat the sick, and sell medicine”

“ Yes it is possible, because I do not know whether from my clan there are still living or not, which is clear I saved grandfather when I was four years old to a place far from my village, well.this is where grandfather raised me”

“ Are you not vengeful with King Zeroix?” ask the general again while rubbing his palms.

“ At first I was vengeful, but after a few years, I thought again, to fight King Zeroix alone, it was just a silly dream and wish, anyway, from there I accepted my destiny more and brushed off my grudge all along. A quiet life here is enough for me “ Merlin with his smile turned towards the man with a resolutely authoritative face.

After a while, the cooking had matured, the wheat porridge and some side dishes were already presented on the wooden table that Merlin had placed outside, for the men to freely take it.

“ Alright, I wake those fools up first.” Gardden to the entrance.

DENG!!!..DENGS!!!…DENG!!…

A battle shield made of iron hit Gardden hard.

Merlin turned his head in shock with a loud voice earlier, but he only sighed..’yah..be that's the behavior of the men’.

BANGUUUN!!!..YOU LAZY PEOPLE!!!

The screaming vice general made all the men wake up, some held both ears, some grinned because they were disturbed.

In a few moments they had gathered in front, still in the cold of the snow, but the warm sun in that morning made them not tormented like yesterday.

They all enjoyed the warm porridge and other food Merlin served. Some of them were unceasingly grateful to Merlin. Harlmon who yesterday experienced extreme cold, now can eat with others.

Suddenly…

Grp…..

Two wolves were seen stepping slowly towards them and observing with a ferocious gaze, with their grinning mouths salivating, and sharp fangs that seemed to be deliberately shown to show their strength.

Spotan men who were enjoying food stood up and took wood, axes and makeshift weapons. They looked at the two wolves and prepared for battle.

“ Wait!!” Merlin seemed to have broken up. Suddenly all the men turned towards Merlin.

“ They just want to eat.they are my best friends.” All men are more surprised. Merlin stepped towards the side of his house and picked up something red that looked like slightly frozen meat from inside a rather large box.

Merlin carried the meat towards the wolf, there was no fear at all on Merlin's face, he instead looked smiling looking at the two wolves that seemed ready to attack.

“ Hi, you two must be hungry, I haven't seen you in a few days.. Here, eat.sorry I didn't have time to warm it.” Merlin slightly knelt down and stroked the head of one of the wolves earlier. And the ferocious wolf turned tame in Merlin's hands. He seemed to have gotten used to the two beasts in front of him. Shortly after, the two wolves ran away and were vaguely lost in the snow white..

The men who were still holding weapons looked at each other, then lowered their weapons.

“ Miss, how can you make friends with wild wolves like them?” ask one of the men there.

“ They have been taken care of since childhood, with grandfather first “ The men still consider it great, but the girl is a little strange.
