CHAPTER 31 - PRESENTING

“ I have to ..marry you?”… The general asked in panic.

“ But how can I marry you, I haven't even known you for long?”

The general's voice is a bit high.

The general squeezed his front hair and got up from his seat and stepped into the window.

“ Much to think. But to get married it has not been thought at all by me”

“ But what about this baby?, what about me sir?”..Oris looked at the general who was looking out the window.

The general breathed.

“ Alright, I'll think “ dashing men passed from Oris' room, then closed the door a little hard.

Outside, the general looked glumly seated on a long wooden bench beside the rather deserted armory.

‘I have to talk to Merlin, but how should I start.’

Suddenly Merlin was seen from a distance carrying something and asked the man who was there, the man pointed at the General. Apparently Merlin was looking for the general.

The general looked confused and agitated, but Merlin was getting closer and closer.

“ Sir, have you spoken to Oris?.” Merlin sat down next to the general.

“ What's in your hand?” The general hasn't answered Merlin.

“ Ah, this is sir, I made a fur coat for you, I knit it myself, do you like?”

A dark brown coat with a rope embellishing it is shown Merlin in front of the General.

The general with a slightly forced smile, nodded.

“ Yes, I like.thanks Merlin.”

“ Oya, so what about Mr Oris? Did you ask who his father was?”

Merlin's question made the General again moody and misbehaved.

“ There is something I want to tell you Merlin.. “ The general carefully recounts the events of his trip with Oris.

The changing atmosphere made them seem tense. Merlin seemed to be in disbelief with all the General's stories.

The girl covered her mouth with her slightly quivering fingers, and her eyes began to glaze over.

“ I could have sworn Merlin, I didn't realize at that time.I feel like I didn't do it at all.” The general looked deeply into Merlin's face, who was disappointed by the general's explanation.

“ I suppose sir...” Merlin could not continue.

“ Merlin, you have to trust me, I don't even know him yet!” General explained.

Merlin sighed…

“ I was wrong sir, I was too confident, thought that master liked me..But I just realized, I am a terrible monster.I do not deserve you!!” Merlin could not hold back his tears, he ran out of his place.

“ Merlin!!” The general couldn't hold it back, Merlin escaped faster.

‘You are not wrong Merlin..I do like you’ the inner General while bowing his head, and rubbing his face.

All the residents of the fort heard and asked each other. A man came running a bit and frantically met the General who was still sitting in his place.

“ General, it looks like it's Miss Merlin!!.” the man gasped for breath reporting to the General.

“ Yes, it's Merlin, Just leave it.” The general's voice weakens, then he bows his head again. But the man looked still confused, and finally left in front of the General.

Oris, who heard it from the room looking out at the forest, thought maybe Merlin knew the truth.

Merlin did not come home last night, the citizens of the fort began to panic, especially the General. Tomorrow morning they plan to go through the forest looking for Merlin.

“ Didn't we just find Miss Merlin General tonight?” dummor asked the General who was sitting in the hall chair.

“ Tomorrow alone, I'm sure the Eldrs are with him, chances are he's safe with Eldr”

After all, Gardden approached the general and asked about the matter that had happened to him and Merlin.

“ I trust you Luzen, you may not do anything, it could be Oris who set you up, I will help you solve this problem”

“ No need Gard, let me handle myself.” The general got up from his seat, then

pat Gardden on the shoulder and pass him out of the room.

Tomorrow, early in the morning, the citizens of the fort down the forest looking for Merlin. For nearly half a day they searched but found no sign of Merlin.

Finally the General ordered two men to go to the village of Merlin live first, maybe he was there.

Two days passed, the man who was assigned to look for Merlin to his village also had not found Merlin. The general was very worried about Merlin's disappearance, as were his friends.

In the barn, Oris was picking up some wheat to cook, and he was suddenly startled by the appearance of a man holding a knife from behind to his neck.

“ You don't have to yell Oris, I'll just ask you, answer honestly, if you lie, you'll die here and no one will know..” the man's voice is Gardden's.

“ Ahhk..what-what-you-want-ask.” Oris answered stammeringly.

“ Who is the father of your baby?”

“ Akh.it...” Oris has not answered.

Gardden brought his knife closer to Oris' neck.

“ Answer me!!” threaten Gardden rough.

“ Gariel..dia Gariel my lover.”

“ Where is he now?!” ask Gardden back.

“ He's gone, I don't know where he went.”

“ Then why did you frame the General and tell him to marry you?!”

“ Because I like the General, and I don't want this child born without a father.”

“ Damn woman!” Gardden took off his knife and pushed Oris' body away and nearly fell.

“ You must explain this to the General and Miss Merlin, because of your stupidity the General became upset and Miss Merlin left the fortress, this is all because of you!” Gardden kicked the wheat there and scattered, and he left.
