CHAPTER 33 - MERLIN'S RETURN

At Drake's castle, by,

In the castle hall, several men including the General were sitting in the room, in the middle of them was Denzu, a long-haired black man, in white, explaining that he had indeed killed the noble brother, indeed, he was ruled by another rival noble of the slain.

The noble's brother was killed as well because he was a corrupt, ruthless official and liked to play women.

Denzu is an elite archer, spy and assassin.

The Eagle Eye was an organization he had set up specifically for the elite of archers and spies.

In fact the Eagle Eyes are very difficult to catch, because of their shrewdness, but Denzu can be caught for being betrayed by some of his own friends.

Hence this organization broke out, because of the betrayal, and its members who still support Denzu are currently in hiding, they are being hunted by officials because they are considered dangerous.

Finally the General asked Denzu to make an alliance with him.

“ I'm willing to make an alliance with you, but do you dare pay me higher than those foolish nobles”. Denzu negotiated with the General.

“ We pay double the fee of the nobles, but on condition that you only work for us, and do not accept jobs from anyone, how?”

“ And no betrayal.” Denzu added.

“ Do not equate us with your treacherous comrades, I guarantee you do not find traitors here” stressed the General.

Denzu and the General agreed to make cooperation.

“ Oya, but I still think of my friends who are still hiding” Denzu explained his worries.

“ How can you find your friends?” ask General.

“ I know their hiding place, but I'm not ready to go there alone ”

“ Alright, I will ask some people here to come with you ”

“ Sorry, One more request, may we settle temporarily in your fortress, then me and my friends will find a place for us to stay after stable atmosphere”. Denzu added.

“ Well, please stay here for a while” General allows.

“ Thank you General, I really appreciate your help” said Denzu who was being treated.

Three months passed, though,

In the vast grounds inside the fort, the men are trained in fighting, archery, wrestling, and activities that hone their physique and abilities.

Ziggo, who was also training, chased after the general who passed him. He spoke to the General, asking the General not to expel Oris from the fortress, because Ziggo liked Oris, he was willing to marry the girl even though he knew that Oris was pregnant, finally, with a heavy heart the General allowed Oris to remain in the fort on condition of not betraying and not lying to anyone.

On the same day the General got a letter from the Black Continent, the Eastern Gozan kingdom. The contents of the letter are ‘ Announcement War Statement ’ with Drake fortress, the reason the trigger of the war is invasion of the territory, and things that are not clearly written in the letter.

His preparation was given only two months from the day of the letter.

The inhabitants of the fort were furious with the statement, but inevitably they had to fight, and the General said that this was an opportunity to show the strength of their fortress to the outside world.

“ General!!,..General I saw one Eldr hovering over the forest and headed to here” a man reported something he had just seen.

“ Merlin..” the voice of the General slowly hopeful, he immediately ran towards the flying Eldr earlier while looking up his head.

Those in the fortress looked up, not one Eldr was present, but hundreds and were heading towards the fortress.

The general and the others were waiting on top of the fortress. The entire Eldr that was slapped in the air quickly descended and knelt on the vast fortress ground, then following the figure the General was waiting for, well Merlin had returned.

The general and his friends went straight down, in the field the General walked quickly to meet Merlin who was still in the form of a creature with feather wings, horns and pointed teeth.

“ Merlin, are you back?.I can explain everything Merlin “ General who stands before Merlin emanated his joyful face with merlin's return.

“ I'm sorry sir, I went too long.” Merlin slightly lowered his head.

“ Miss Merlin!! you're back!.” the men who missed Merlin's presence one by one approached him. Merlin smiled and saw a pointed fang on the side of his white teeth.

His friends were not afraid at all with Merlin's appearance like that, instead they liked him.

Two men innocently stroked the large black fur that grew on Merlin's back.

Others noticed Merlin's horns perched on both foreheads.

Merlin snapped his finger, gesturing for the Elders to return to his place.

Hundreds of Eldrs obeyed a flick of Merlin's finger, they flew through the air and disappeared somewhere.

A cool and cold night. In the courtyard of the fortress, they celebrated Merlin's return.

Merlin, whose form had returned as before, sat side by side with the General, Gardden was also one more man.

“ Um!..Gard, can you grab a drink and have a drink with the others“ General cleared his throat and gestured to Gardden.

The understanding Gardden smiled and took the man sitting there to another place.

Now the general's only two on a wooden bench with merlin. The general explained what really happened between him and Oris, Merlin looked relieved.

The general looked at Merlin's face.

My grandfather was a powerful Eldr, one of the five Elders.

In Eldr's rule anyone who marries other than Eldr will lose his power, and will return to full human life even though Eldr's blood will not be lost from him and flow to the next successor.

My grandfather and the four Elders had destroyed a kingdom in the former Oleic region, and even the entire kingdom and city were destroyed. Hence Eldr is called the bearer of doom.

Then the grandfather decided to get married, so by that decision lost the power of the grandfather, he could no longer be an Eldr, then the grandfather had a descendant, my father who actually flowed the blood of Eldr, Eldr, he could no longer be an Eldr, but my father preferred to be an ordinary man by marrying my mother, who is from the Harbirt clan, so I was born.

“ So your grandfather is a strong Eldr?.., “ asked the General.

“Em, I met an old witch who lives with Eldr in South Mountain, she knows everything about Eldr, even grandfather and me, she knows everything”

“ Oya sir, the old witch also said to me, that one day it is likely that I will marry a King, and I will become a whole human “ Merlin explained with a slight smile.

“ Kings?.what does that jerk Zaimon mean?” The general was a little angry.

“ Eehh..I didn't think there, no.no. I didn't want to marry that guy” Merlin looked scared.

“ If King Ell died, wouldn't Zaimon be King?” The general raised his eyebrows and glanced at Merlin.

“ Then who will you marry?” The general smiled a little.

Merlin looked still timid, and they spoke looking happy in the wooden chair. From a distance, Oris stared in envy and still harbored her feelings for the General.

As time went on, almost a month they built a fortress as well as a peaceful settlement but also strong, sturdy with well-trained and selected soldiers.

On an unexpected day….

From the guard tower in the distance there was a large army heading towards the fortress. A large army with several flags and complete war equipment.
