CHAPTER 7: THE FEELING OF BEING LATE

Iko still leaned her head against the black washbak she was sitting on. His head was facing upwards, until both his eyes were aligned with Ega's beautiful brown eyes which seemed to seriously dry the man's hair with a dry towel. The two pairs of eyeballs had met several times, but Ega always tried to turn his eyes away. The man did not take his eyes off for a second from the face which was now just a moment above his face. From the look of the male's eyes it is clear that he missed the times when Ega was still a hairdresser who specifically handled him. It was separated for five years after High School because Iko had to continue his music education in London and Ega continued his studies in business management, destiny finally reunites the two of them on one occasion where Ega gets an exclusive contract by the agency to become Iko's hairdresser. The accidental meeting made the two friends who were long separated by distance and time returned close and familiar as before, until the time Ega married. The husband still allows Ega to pursue a job as a professional hairdresser on the condition that he can only handle female artists. Because of Ega's love of work that is in line with his passion, Ega obeyed the husband's desire to no longer handle clients of the opposite sex. The decision that suddenly made Iko feel lost until he could not accept if he had to keep his distance from friends he met again after a long time apart.

“I miss times like this, Ga,” said Iko disperse her own daydream. Instantly Ega stopped the movement of his hand and stared at the two balls of Iko's eyes fixedly. The woman did not say a word, then returned to finish her work.

“Thank you because you still care about my situation,” continued Iko. Ega remained silent, unmoved.

“It's done. The dye seems to have already hit the surface of your nape and temples. Wear an anti-allergic cream if symptoms appear. You still have at home, ‘kan?” said Ega while removing the neck cover that had been embedded in Iko's neck. The man then moved from his seat and looked back at Ega closely. The woman cleaned all the hair washing equipment she had just used. In the room now only left the two of them, because Ega asked Nathan's assistant to take care of Aluna's hair and they both had gone to the shooting room first to take photos of the first session.

“You can go to the studio room now,” pinta Ega while leaving Iko, but the man actually pulled Ega's arm and suddenly hugged the woman tightly.

“Why don't you also understand that I feel so lost, Ga?” said the man while hugging Ega tightly.

“Iko, what the hell is this? let go of me!” The rebellious Ega tried to let go of the hug, but Iko's strong arm gripped her even more.

“Give me time to hug you this time only. Please,” the man again pleaded, and now Ega can only resign.

“Please let me go, this time your friend who pleaded with you,” said Ega firmly to make Iko release his arms.

“Preciate Aluna as your lover, Ko. I also appreciate being married. I told you this repeatedly, why don't you understand?” Ega.

“But you didn't know that me and Aluna ..” the words were cut off as Nathan's noise from outside came closer.

“Jeez, what's the mess here? Why is your hair color like this?” said the man in his voice.

“Didn't you remember that Iko was allergic to this brand's hair dye?” Ega asked his gleaming companion.

“Yeah!? I'm sorry Iko baby, I really don't remember. I was in a hurry because the agency called me to change some concepts,” said Nathan apologized while immediately getting around the appearance of Iko's hair that became irregular color. In a matter of minutes, Nathan finished cleaning up all the mess that happened to Iko's hair until now the man was ready to do the first session shooting. Iko goes to the studio room accompanied by Nathan, while Ega is still left there to clean up all his equipment. The hug he had just gotten from the man, made him recall the memories of the past. The friendship was so close that he did not realize that he began to grow a sense of the other in him towards the man, but he ignores her because he feels his friendship will end if he keeps letting it grow. As much as possible Ega stopped the feeling until they were separated by distance and time, but the meeting of the two actually opened the memories again. Until now, Ega realized that it seems the man secretly has the same taste for her, but it is too late because both have their own partners.
