“You know I'm in that room, right? Why don't you meet me?” the man said as he walked closer trying to erode the distance with the woman who had just cut off her phone.
“I ...,” said the woman was cut off. Slowly he walked back as the man's steps drew closer.
“You really changed, Ga. The man has made you a stranger,” said Iko as he stared at the two brown eyes of Ega. Ega immediately turned his gaze in the other direction, avoiding eye contact as much as possible.
“Why don't you dare look me in the eye, hm?” The man returned intimidating.
“Iko, come! All the fans are waiting for you! What are you doing here?” the voice of one of the crew again called out to the man, who instantly saved Ega from his bullying. The tone is half high because from earlier looking for the idol who turned out to be in the women's makeup room with Ega.
“Wait a minute. His hair was a little messy so I called him,” bela Ega while suddenly fixing the front of the man's hair, saving him from the annoyance of the crew who had been looking for him. Instantly the show crew was upset, probably because Iko seemed unprofessional.
“Back like this. Be someone who always styles my hair, like before you married that man,” pinta Iko while stopping Ega's hand tidying up her hair.
“Try to understand, Ko. Appreciate me being married,” pinta Ega on that man.
“I'm just asking you to stay my best friend, that's all. Like a long time ago. What's wrong with me asking you for it, Ga?” Iko remained firm on his stance. Iko's words immediately reminded Ega when she was still a hairdresser who specifically handled Iko, her own best friend. After marriage, Ega chose to become a female artist hairdresser and as much as possible avoid contact with male artists because it respects the trust of the husband who has given her freedom to keep working.
The boisterous sound of the audience's applause shouting Iko's name was heard clearly up to the cosmetology room, to the point of breaking the void of Ega's view.
“Go, they are waiting for you,” said Ega hoping the man in front of him will leave immediately. Iko sighed deeply, shaking slowly as if still in disbelief with the change in attitude of her best friend who seemed to keep her distance. The man left Ega without a word. The chocolate guitar that runs down his back, instantly re-opens the memories of Ega High School with the man.

“Happy birthday!” ega said to the man who was busy writing something in his notebook in the music room.
“Where did you know I was here?” the man said to the girl standing in front of him.
“Where else would Iko Bhagaskara, the most idolized vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter in the school be if not in the music room, hm?” said the girl who immediately made Iko upload her thin smile.
“Sit. Accompany me to make a song,” pinta men it. His eyes squinted when he realized the woman in front of him was carrying something on his back.
“What do you carry on your back?” ask the man. Ega smiled as she let go of what she had on her back. From the shape, the man easily knew what the brown-eyed girl was carrying.
“Guitar?”
“Hm,” the girl nodded as she handed the guitar to the man sitting opposite her. “For my greatest musician friend in this school!” continued. The man happily accepted the gift of the brown-eyed girl who was none other than his best friend. Iko enthusiastically set the melody suit on the guitar tip while plucking the strings carefully, finding a rhythm that fits her ears. Without waiting for a long time, the man finished arranging the melody perfectly.
“Thank you!” said the man while smiling at his best friend. The woman just smiled as she gave her thumb a sign of receiving the thank you.
“How many lyrics lines are there?” ask the girl while reaching for the notebook that was on Iko's lap. His two brown eyeballs quickly scanned all the lines of verse his best friend had written. Occasionally the arch of his eyebrows frowned, trying to digest the meaning of the song verse he read.
“I had trouble finishing this part,” lamented the man to the girl who was still busy reading the verse. The man's hand tried to reclaim his notebook, but the girl held him back. The pen was held by the man and he began to add several verses to complete the entire song.
“How about like this?” said the girl while thrusting back the notebook that was in her hand earlier. The man seemed to seriously understand the final part of the song that the girl had finished and then a bright smile fell on both corners of her lips.
“This is great!” the man said as he swiftly grabbed the guitar he had just received as his birthday present, then his long fingers nimbly began to pluck the melodies that accompanied the verse. The girl began to close her eyes when she heard the excerpt of the beautiful melody created from the agile fingers, permeating every melody that stroked her ears. The two friends then chant the verse they just finished simultaneously.
Even if in the end destiny wasn't on my side,
remember me as your most beautiful memory.
And when one day fate brings us together, we meet,
The girl gave a small round of applause at the melody they had just sung together. The man smiled so sweetly that his white teeth were neat and beautiful.
“Write something here,” said the man to his best friend while handing him a black marker. The man pointed to the bottom of the guitar, asking that his best friend write something for him. The girl seemed to think hard to find what words she would write for her best friend.
Shine, my great musician!! So the words written by the girl while putting a picture of a small smile at the end of her sentence.
“If we meet again, I hope you have become what it says on this guitar. Promise me,” ask the woman while pointing her little finger asking for a promise to the man. Iko nodded confidently as she hooked her pinkie to welcome the promise of her best friend.
...***...
The boisterous clapping of fans that echoed all the way to the dressing room broke the reverie of Ega that had just been thrown at the memories of the past. The applause was a marker that the two idols who were performing the song were almost at the end of the lyrics. Aluna's soft voice and Iko's guitar chant singing the last part of the verse instantly made Ega's blood rustle. His thin lips also mumbled a little following the verse that he remembered all the lyrics, because he himself wrote the end.
Even if in the end destiny wasn't on my side,
Remember me as your most beautiful memory.
And when one day fate brings us together, we meet,
You should know, I still love you.
The woman accidentally shed tears that she immediately wiped with the back of her hand. Everything is over, the friendship is over because everything is not the same anymore. Ega already has a husband, and Iko already has Aluna as her life partner. Keeping a distance with the man to appreciate each other's partner is the best way that Ega chooses not to hurt each other. Hurrying the woman left the dressing room to avoid her reunion with the idol. The steps were wide outside the room, but the woman actually met with Iko and Ega again there, taking pictures with some fans who stole in through the back door.
“Kak Ega, here!” aluna shouted to the woman. Feeling that there was no other choice, Ega immediately walked up to him.
“Can't ask please photo us?” pinta Aluna because her fans want to take pictures together after taking turns taking pictures with the duo.
“Of course. Give me the phone,” bargain Ega on Aluna while reaching for one of her fan phones. Everyone is preparing to take pictures, not least the duo pair who are in the middle. Clearly visible from the camera phone, Iko looked at Ega with a sharp gaze then then the man wrapped his arms around Aluna's waist. It was as if he was trying to burn the flames of jealousy in Ega's chest, but the woman looked as ordinary as possible.
“Already,” said the woman while handing the phone back to one of the idol's fans. They thanked him and said goodbye to leave, until only the three of them left behind.
“I go home first, said Ega.
“Wait! Photograph us both first, can ‘kan?” pinta Iko suddenly seemed to deliberately return to burn the jealous fire. The man handed over his phone and posed with the girl standing next to him. After taking a few pictures, Ega returned the phone.
“Wah, what is this Brother? New sister ring? Must be from sister's husband, right?” The girl railed against Ega with a few questions to make Ega a little flutter.
“Uhm, this ...,” Ega stammered answering that question because Iko looked at him with a dislike gaze. The man hurried to leave them both.
"Sister Iko!" call Aluna, but Iko doesn't touch her.
"What's wrong with her?" aluna asked with curiosity.
