The Retaliation of the CEO's Wife and the Idol

The Retaliation of the CEO's Wife and the Idol
CHAPTER 4: THE DISPUTE

The phone connection was again cut off before Evan heard the voice of someone connected across the street. Evan looked back at Ega in disappointment. The man then handed over Ega's smartphone and then stepped away to his study.

“Hun! Hunny wait!” call Ega while running after her husband who is leaving. The dispute was ultimately inevitable as well, though Ega had to lie to prevent it.

“Hunny, please! Listen to my explanation,” pinta Ega while grabbing her husband's arm. The man's steps stopped, then he turned to look at his wife. Silent, only Ega's breath sounded a little panting.

“Honey, you know ‘kan I can't be angry with you for too long. But it does not mean like this,” said the man. His tone was firm, but he did not raise his voice. Instantly Ega hugged her husband tightly with regret for feeling guilty for hurting his heart. The man never said rudely, played hands, even raised his voice when angry or disappointed. That is what makes Ega so careful in maintaining his attitude. Because of that, Ega chose to end the work contract to become a hairstylist who specifically handles Iko, his best friend since High School. She prefers to keep her distance in order to appreciate her husband's feelings.

“Hun I'm really sorry. Since we got married, I've not handled Iko anymore, you know that right? It's just that today, I also don't know why she called me,” Ega begged her husband for understanding. The man took off his embrace slowly, flanking his wife's cheeks while looking at her closely.

“I believe you, Honey. I am disappointed not because Iko called you, but because I regret your attitude that must lie to me,” said Evan.

“I understand. I just want to avoid any disputes between us. But the opposite happened,” regretted the woman. His brown eyeballs glazed with glass stared fixedly at the husband.

“Don't you repeat again, okay?” the man's pinta was instantly answered with a nod of the head by Ega. The man kissed his wife softly, then hugged her back tightly.

“Thank you for believing in me, Hun.”

...

Ega drove his car to Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta. Today, all finalists of the talent search event from the agency where Ega works will fill a promotional concert event held by the agency, in collaboration with one of the leading event organizers in Jakarta. Unlike usual, the woman's mood is not good because of the misunderstanding she had to experience with her husband last night due to a phone call from Iko. The woman seemed to be rushing towards the female cosmetology room to immediately deal with some of the idols that will be performing today, including Aluna. Deftly the hairstylist styled the beautiful hair of the idols according to what they want.

“Kak Ega why?” asked Aluna was curious because she found the face of Ega that was not as calm as usual.

“I'm fine,” he answered briefly while still finishing Aluna's hairdo. The woman was about to ask Iko for an explanation as to why she contacted him last night.

“What time do you perform?” ask Ega to Aluna.

“Twenty more minutes, Brother. What's up?” ask Aluna. The woman shook her head.

“There is less?” ask Ega back after finishing Aluna's hairdo.

“As usual. Perfect, Brother. Thank you! I want to go to the restroom first,” said Aluna while leaving Ega to the restroom. The hairdresser immediately walked out of the room to find Iko. With a hurry he entered the man artist's cosmetology room.

“What do you mean call me at midnight, hm? Ask Ega in a sharp tone to the man who is now only a few feet away in front of him.

“Ega, listen to me –

“Why do you keep trying to get close to me? I almost lost Evan's trust because of your phone call!” the tone of Ega's speech was getting higher due to emotions.

“Ega listen to me!” Iko also slightly raised her tone to ask for a chance.

“No! You should listen to me, Ko!” Ega's breath gasping with anger.

“Never call me again. Although not. No matter how much you try to make our friendship like it used to be, it can never be because we are different. You understand?”concluded the woman while turning around to leave Iko.

“Your husband is not what you think so far,” said the man who immediately made Ega stop his steps. He turned back and approached Iko who was looking at him sharply.

“See yourself. Last night you tried to break my husband's trust, and you just said something bad about him in front of me? What do you really want? Do you expect the destruction of my household, hm? Answer me, Iko Bhagaskara!” ketus Ega with his firm low tone.

“I just want to see your happiness, Ega!” sergeant Iko while gripping the two arms of Ega which is only one inch in front of him. The man locked onto Ega's fixed gaze, hoping for confidence in the brown eyeballs.

“I'm happy with my husband! I'm. Hugely. Blissfully. So don't ever try to shake me with that shit!” concluded Ega while smashing the grip of the hand, but Iko still hold it.

“Open your eyes, Ga! You don't fully know your husband! Iko insisted on asking for trust in the woman he still clutches her arms firmly.

“I know my husband very well! Even if I knew you first, but I've known my husband a lot longer! Do not repeat your bad words about him. Understand?” Ega threw the grip in annoyance and hurried to leave Iko who was filled with disappointment towards the friend who used to trust and listen to all his words. The man took a breath and exhaled strongly while flicking his Comma hair back. He never expected the figure of Ega who is now really a figure that is so foreign to him.

While Ega, the woman walked down the hallway to the cosmetology room with wide steps and breaths that were still a little claustrophobic. The hallway seemed empty as all the crew and artists had moved to the backstage area to prepare for their respective performances, except for Iko who was still left in the dressing room. The roll of beautiful hair that he had just let down then he stuck a hair clip on the roll to hold it. The woman never thought that the figure of Iko, a friend who used to be very supportive of whatever he did, has now really changed. Without him noticing, a grain of tears dripped from both of his eyes.

“Why did you become like this, Ko?” he said softly while immersing his face into both palms.

“I looked everywhere for you,” The voice of a man from the end of the hall that was a few meters from before Ega suddenly made him surprised. The woman turned her face towards the source of the voice and immediately her two beautiful eyeballs turned to find who was standing there.
