CHAPTER 30: THE QUEEN CARD

The brown-eyed woman seemed to be enjoying every sip of the warm green tea she had brewed just a moment ago. Her beautiful eyes scoured the news portal about the sacrilegious video of Aluna and Evan spreading rapidly in the virtual universe. His faint smile fell, and he looked closely at the woman sitting before him.

“You really kept your promise,” Ega told the awkward-looking woman justifying her sitting position.

“Now say what you want?” continued Ega. The woman seemed to reach for the cup of tea that Ega presented to her, gulping her down with hearts before opening her voice.

“Suami ..., he wants one apartment unit in Madrid,” he concluded.

“Madrid?” ask Ega.. The woman nodded slowly.

“How about your papa? Who will take care of him?” Ega asked back. The woman was seen sighing heavily upon hearing Ega mention her papa.

“We will take her away together and take care of her there,” concluded the woman shriveled. Ega seemed to calm his breathing while shaking his hair wave slowly.

“Alright if that's what you want. Settle down there and never appear again before me and those who have dealt with this matter. If you still have shame, of course you will obey my words, ‘kan?” concluded Ega while walking closer to the woman who still looks awkward sitting in front of him.

“I ..., I don't know if I should thank you more or apologize to you, Ga. I'm so sorry for choosing to hide Evan's rot from you and take advantage of the situation to blackmail him. You know for yourself, my husband didn't work after him from prison and my papa company collapsed until he was very sick, putting all his debts on me. I needed so much money to survive in this situation,” obviously the woman gave birth which immediately made Ega remember the moment where he came to the house of the woman in front of him at this time, one day after he caught his eye with Evan, he attended the launch of Tony & Co's new jewelry collection at the Grand Hotel.

“How can a friend stab his best friend in the back like this?” sergeant Ega on the woman while throwing photos of Evan and himself together at the launch of the latest jewelry collection. The woman seemed to take one by one the scattering photos, then sat down in front of Ega while hugging her legs.

“I ..., I'm sorry Ga, this is not what you see. Really I have nothing to do with Evan, trust me!?”the woman groaned for her best friend. Ega was stunned with a stifled rage within the chest. His hands clenched, his feet trying to break free from the woman's arms.

“I helped free your husband from prison! I also helped with all your living expenses during your husband's time there! How can you do something like this to me, Amora?! What do you really want, huh?!” instantly Ega's emotions exploded. The woman swiftly woke up Amora's small body, pulling her hair to lock her eyes.

“Ega I swear I didn't have an affair with Evan, please give me a chance to talk!” he groaned while trying to remove the grip of his hair from Ega's hand, but the woman still pulled him firmly so that Amora complained in pain.

“I'll tell you who Evan is playing behind you!” said Amora who instantly made Ega release her grip. Ega was a little surprised to find out that his best friend knew who Evan had been playing with.

“So all this time you know Evan secretly betrayed me? How can you hide it from me, Amora! What kind of friend are you, huh?” his emotions exploded.

“And therefore you let me, your own friend, live in a marriage full of falsehoods? Isn't there enough material I gave you to help save your life, Amora?!” ega's anger was uncontrollable to make the small-statured woman again restrained in front of him.

“I'm sorry, Ga. I'm really sorry. You know, my husband had a hard time getting a job after he got out of prison and I had no other choice. Everything I did to pay off my papa's debts and fund my family's life.” The woman began to weep lamenting the agony that made her take the wrong step. Seeing that, Ega's unbearable feelings reappeared, but this time he did not want to be weak.

“I've been watching the company's financial statement movements lately. And you know what? What I found could have put you in custody today, Amora. I don't know who will take care of your papa if I do,” threatened Ega in a calm tone. Immediately Amora's face was again covered in fear.

“Ega I beg you not. I'll do anything as long as I don't put me in jail, I have to take care of my papa, the only parent I have, Ega,”. Ega walked over with a cynical smile on one corner of his lips.

“Are you trying to make a deal with me, hm?” firmly Ega while raising Amora's chin with her index finger. The woman nodded quickly in fear. Then he took a breath and exhaled slowly.

“You know. I don't know who that cowardly guy is playing behind my back, I don't care. To be clear, betrayal is the thing I hate most in my life, and surviving with a traitor is an impossibility for me,” he said as he looked into Amora's eyes sharply.

“I want hard evidence to bring to my farewell hearing with that traitorous man. Bring me proof so he can't dodge it any more than accept this farewell. You need money to survive that miserable life, don't you?” ask the woman in front of him. The room was silent for a while, before Amora finally made her decision.

“I'll do it for you, Ega. Give me time and I'll do well.” The woman agreed on the offer given by her best friend.

“I didn't expect you to be this strong and smart, Ga,” said Amora who immediately broke her daydream. The woman again gulped down the remaining green tea in front of her. His once-existing gaze was now gone, changing with a cold gaze full of vengeance.

“Maybe all this time you think that you have an ace that you can use to end and win matches at any time.” Ega walked up to Amora, looking back at the two eyeballs. “But you seem to have forgotten Amora. I’m the Queen Card. I can do the same, too,”
