The Endless System
Ch 85 — Monster's Rank

“Are you okay Ifrit?” A faint voice rang out, it seemed that it was Tohrei's voice.

“Tuanku..?” Ifrit slowly began to wake up. He looked around, it seemed that he was currently in the nursing room.

Tohrei who brought Ifrit to the treatment room, he healed Ifrit with his healing skills.

“It appears I have lost.” Ifrit said that with disappointment. Losing in front of his master was truly embarrassing.

“Why do you look moody? Nothing embarrassing here.”

“But I have...”.

“Lose? To me no, Ryui was just a bully of someone weaker than him.” Tohrei's words convinced Ifrit to ignore his defeat.

“Hei! I can hear you!” From the door of the room, Ryui's voice came. He entered the treatment room.

“What? Isn't what I said true?” Reply Tohrei with ease.

“What's really?! You're slandering me!” Ryui ran towards Tohrei angrily.

“Nih brown.” Tohrei throws a piece of chocolate and Ryui catches the chocolate quickly using his mouth.

“Ugh, I still won't forget that thing.” Ryui harbored her anger at being given chocolate by Tohrei.

“By the way how are you doing Ifrit?” Ryui asked Ifrit.

“I...., fine thanks to my master who healed me.”

“By the way, I have to admit that you should be a peak SS-rank, ordinary SS-rank should not be able to corner me. Uh, in short I'm amazed at your ability.” Ryui paid tribute to Ifrit.

Ifrit was a little silent, he then retorted. “Thank you Miss Ryui, but I can't be that strong yet.”

“Do you want to re-match next time?” Ryui asked Ifrit.

“Sure, next time I will definitely become stronger.”

“SS-rank? What is a tier decider of some sort?” Tohrei had not understood what the rank they mentioned was.

“It seems that you don't know yet, we monsters have levels. F-rank, E-rank, D-rank, C-rank, B-rank, A-rank, S-rank, SS rank, and X-rank, respectively, as far as I know there are higher levels but I don't yet know that higher level.” Ifrit said, he then explained further.

“Each rank is calculated from the level they have.”

F-rank: level 1-15

E-rank: level 16-30

D-rank: level 31-40

C-rank: level 41-50

B-rank: level 51-85

A-rank: level 86-150

S-rank: level 151-300

SS-rank: level 301-1,000

X-rank: 1,001-unknown level

“Spirit is also included in the monster category, I am currently at the initial SS-rank level.”

“And I was at X-rank.” Ryui said arrogantly.

Hearing that explanation Tohrei was wide-eyed, he estimated his rank from his current level. His current level was 360, which meant that he was currently at the SS rank.

‘It turns out I was that strong, but why would I be able to deal with Ifrit and Ryui?’ Tohrei was astonished.

The sound of the system suddenly rang out, it had been a long time since he had heard that. ‘System? Can you explain?’

[Usually, stat would follow the sum of its levels, that is to say, if one has a level of 100 then his stat is also 100. But that does not apply to you, this is because the stat you have is a reward from the system and is not the result of your own efforts. With your current stat, you should be stronger than an X-rank monster.]

Tohrei became even more surprised to hear the system's speech. He smiled slightly thinly, but he did not forget that Ifrit said that there was a higher rank than X-rank, that means he was not completely overpowering.

“Why do you look wide-eyed my lord?” Asked Ifrit who saw the expression of his master.

“Ah, nothing. Oh yes, soon is Ikumi's match, do you want to come watch, Ifrit?”

“Ya, I also want to see the appearance of Miss Ikumi.”

***

The third match was Ikumi against Cresil. Ikumi is asked by Tohrei not to use her full strength. If he used his full strength there was a possibility that his identity as a wolf beast would be revealed. Tohrei advised Ikumi to only use half of his full strength.

The real reason Ikumi was ordered so was because of the mission of the system. The system says that this mission is important so that Tohrei can get a related mission.

Ikumi was currently only the equivalent of a B+ monster as it reduced her original strength to half. Of course this only applies temporarily.

Just like the others, Ikumi also wore a mask and robe in the fight. He wears a white fox mask.

His opponent, Cresil also wears a robe and mask. But the mask worn by Cresil only covered the top of his face.

“Are you two ready? Fight starts!” The referee starts the match.

Cresil attacked first, he took out a spirit from behind his shadow. The spirit was four-legged and had a sharp tail. He has no ears but four eyes. He has a mostly black body.

‘Huh? I think I know that spirit. Hoh, it seems that he attacked me from behind.’ Tohrei recalled the events in the first half.

“What?! Isn't that spirit?!” One of the spectators was surprised to see Cresil issuing his contract spirit.

“Hey isn't that unfair two on one?” Other spectators protest.

The referee discussed this with the organizers and decided whether or not this was a violation. “Contract creatures are not forbidden to fight.” The referee said that clearly to the audience.

With a little annoyance the spectators accepted the rule.

Cresil attacks Ikumi by commanding his spirit. “Strike him Blaince.” Cresil's orders on his spirit.

His spirit named Blaince immediately obeyed the orders of his master. Blaince darted quickly towards Ikumi.

As soon as the spirit attack was about to hit Ikumi, an invisible barrier made the Cresil call spirit bounce back.

It belongs to Ikumi. Currently the passive skill is weakened because Ikumi reduces its strength. Therefore even Ikumi fell back a little.

‘The effect exceeds what I expected, it seems that the level of the man is quite high.’ Ikumi's inner being serious.

“” Ikumi exerts her wind magic.

A green-colored tornado was created twisting the entire air in the arena. Ikumi camouflaged in her tornado to outwit her opponent.

“Grandfather, this is very strange, I think your ability is stronger in the previous game. What's the matter?” Cresil smiled cunningly, he looked towards Blaince.

“Blaince, turn into black smoke.” Blaince nodded in taking his master's orders.

In an instant Blaince turned into a black smoke. That black smoke fused with the surrounding wind and followed the tornado's current. The smoke continued to expand as it fused with Ikumi's tornado until all the air in the arena was overrun by the smoke.

The spectators could see nothing but black smoke spreading in the arena.

‘What is this black smoke? I think it's too dangerous to breathe it.’ Inner Ikumi who was shocked saw the existence of the smoke.

“Me.” Cresil said with a smile.
