BAIHU (White Tiger Warrior): Challenging the Dragon

BAIHU (White Tiger Warrior): Challenging the Dragon
CHAPTER 6 | A hero dies in battle

Wu Shan tried to get up but the pain in his fractured ribs and his stomach that was hit by the Seated King Shi Long left his organs exposed and injured.

Looking at Wu Shan who did not give up, the eyes of the Satisfied King Shi Long turned red. “Wu Shan, my next blow could kill you. You better admit defeat and we end this fight

Master Wu Shan was a stubborn person, and would continue to struggle without giving up until he could no longer move. So he did not listen to the advice of the head of the Moon Sun sect Shang Chi and also from the Clever King Shi Long.

“A... I can still fight.. hah..” said Wu Shan with a breath of breath.

He stood up limped and one of his hands was holding his aching chest, his face was already starting to turn pale and blood was dripping from the corner of his lips. All eyes looked at the miserable condition of that old Wu Shan.

The Satisfied King Shi Long was a ruthless person, yet he respected his powerful enemy. Seeing Wu Shan's condition and his decision he understood, as a fighter to die in battle was better and more honorable than to die in bed from illness.

“Alright, I will fulfill your wish to die in a fight” said Shi Long who then prepared to strike back with his peak strength and use the peak moves of Moving Earth and Sky

Wu Shan listened to Shi Long's words. He then prepared to exert the last remaining of his strength and prepared to withstand the attack from Shi Long. He was already unable to attack, yet he was still able to withstand the attacks from Shi Long.

“Majulah” says ask Shi Long to attack him.

Shi Long then leaped into the air then floated and swooped down with high speed charging towards Wu Shan.

BUGH! BUMM!

The two fighting forces met, Wu Shan who exerted his final strength with a Four Months peak stance resisted the attack from Shi Long.

Seeming after the explosion, Shi Long was bounced away by the attack earlier. His face turned red as he vaguely saw Wu Shan's body still standing in its place. Immediately he returned to prepare his manager and charged towards Wu Shan.

BUMM!

The explosion again occurred, this time the Beast King bounced away with blood dripping from the corner of his mouth. “Damn it, who dared to interrupt my fight” he shouted

It appeared that the head of the Moon Sun Sect Shang Chi was standing in front of Wu Shan's body that was still standing. “Brother Shi Long, Master Wu Shan has died standing. You have won this fight. So please do not damage Wu Shan's body hence” said the Sun Moon sect chief with a grim face.

Shi Long's eyes twitched upon hearing that, he almost made a mistake of attacking again at Wu Shan who was about to destroy his dead body. He then stood up and walked over to the sect leader and Wu Shan, then he bowed his body saluting Wu Shan.

“Although I won this fight, but without my past defeat by him. I won't be as strong now. I have great respect for Master Wu Shan”, Shi Long said, honoring Master Wu Shan and leaving the place with the elders of the Ming sect.

“Chairman!” the Sun Moon sect elders shouted closer to the sect head and Wu Shan's body.

Sectional leader Shang Chi turned to look at Wu Shan's still stiff body standing with a faint smile on his face. It seemed that he had chosen for himself the decision to die on this battlefield.

“Elder Wu Shan is a hero of our sect, he chose to die in battle” said the head of the Sun Moon sect who then bowed his body saluting Master Wu Shan followed by the elders of the Sun Moon sect.

“Goodbye buddy” muttered sect head Shang Chi who was closer to Wu Shan during his life while pouring a glass of wine he always carried inside his storage ring. Drinking wine was his favorite with Master Wu Shan in his lifetime.

They left after paying their last respects to Master Wu Shan and returned to the Sun Moon sect residence.

*****

At Master Wu Shan's house, Baihu felt uneasy and he had never felt this kind of feeling of unease and anxiety. “What's the matter?” confused muttering.

Then he thought of his teacher who was fighting until the descent tonight as well.

“Has something happened to Guru?” he murmured with a grim face

That night Baihu could not sleep well, she would wake up at times and look out in case her Master had returned. But he did not see the arrival of his Master.

The next morning Baihu woke up as usual cleaning up her homework, splitting firewood, fetching water and then practicing. But his teacher had not come from the fight.

“Why hasn't Teacher come home yet?” muttered

Baihu who since childhood used to live alone continued her work and duties as usual. He also studied the books given by his Master diligently. So he did all his activities normally while waiting for the arrival of his Master.

That afternoon there was a man in the distance who walked over to Master Wu Shan's house.

“Teacher!” baihu shouted running towards the man. But his face suddenly changed because the one who came was the head of the Sun Moon Shang Chi sect with a smiley face but it looked forced.

“The sect head” respects Baihu while cupping his hands in front saluting the sect head Shang Chi.

“Where does Guru” ask Baihu next while looking behind the sect head in case his Master comes behind him. However he did not see anyone else who caught up with the sect head.

“Come son! Sit down with me” call the sect leader who has sat on the porch of the house.

Baihu walked up to the sect leader and sat in front of him waiting for the words of the next sect leader.

“Your teacher died in the fight yesterday. He died a hero with a smile on his face. Your teacher's a fighter. He would rather die in the fight than suffer pain for the rest of his life from being injured by the fight” said the sect chief with a grim face

Baihu's face looked flat without any change of emotion within her. At the age of 11 years, he has experienced several losses. When he was 8 years old, both of his parents were killed in the war, the age of 10 years of loyal servants who guarded him died because of being killed by tigers in the forest.

At the age of 11, the teacher who picked him up and taught him to die was killed in battle. She was sad, yet tears did not trickle down her face. His emotions seemed ordinary to hear the news of his Master's death.

“Son, come with me to the Sun Moon sect residence. You can continue your training there” take the sect leader to him.
