Chapter 41 The heartbreaking incident

"PLEase...!"

There was a woman screaming for help after the sound of a car hitting a roadblock.

Ruby, she was shouting out loud as a woman lay in front of her. The woman was lying as if lifeless after pulling Ruby's body to avoid the big car that was about to hit her.

His eyes widened to see the woman lying on the street. He immediately ran over to the woman.

"Mother... Mother why? Wake up Mother..," said the man while crying next to the woman.

Arion, the poor baby was crying when he was near his mother. Everyone is sorry for them.

"Sir, we better take it immediately to the hospital" said one of the crowd.

"Just use my car, sir" said the man next to him.

Suddenly there was a siren approaching them. Police cars and ambulances were seen coming to the scene.

"That's the ambulance coming. Quickly give way" cried someone who was there.

They all gave way so that the ambulance officers could help the woman immediately. They immediately moved the woman who was the mother of poor baby Arion into the ambulance. With tears in his eyes, Arion's father follows his wife into the ambulance.

"Wait, I'm coming. I was with the woman earlier" Ruby said in a hurry to get into the ambulance.

Health workers in the ambulance and Arion's father did not ban him. For them the most important thing is that the mother of Arion can get help quickly.

"We're taking him to another hospital. The hospital near here the IGD is full" the health worker inside the ambulance told the ambulance driver.

Huuuff... I almost got caught again. Fortunately, the police did not see me. Luckily they just focused on that car and this woman. And fortunately, this woman was not taken to the hospital. I think the goddess of fortune is on my side, Ruby said in her heart.

During the journey in the ambulance, Ruby just lowered her head to avoid the questions that concerned her.

After a while, the ambulance arrived at a large building bearing the name of the hospital. They immediately brought the woman into the IGD.

"Sorry sir, you'd better wait outside. Moreover, you brought a baby," said one of the nurses to Arion's father.

"Sir, maybe the baby's thirsty. Better to give formula milk only. Poor baby sir," said the nurse who will enter the IGD room.

Arion's father turned towards Ruby who was sitting not far from his place. Then he said,

"Sir, can you help me?"

Ruby nodded hesitantly and said,

"What help sir?"

"Please buy me formula milk for my child. Here's the money," replied Arion's father, as his hand took the wallet in his pants pocket.

"Sorry sir, I'm afraid of being wrong. You should buy formula milk for your child. Let me just carry your son here while waiting for the wife of the Father who is inside" said Ruby with a little hesitation.

With a heavy heart Arion's father handed Arion to Ruby and said,

"I'll drop Arion for a second. Please take care of Arion. Don't go anywhere, I'm just for a minute."

Ruby agreed. He received the baby named Arion and carried her. Her lips curled upwards when she saw Arion's peaceful face that reminded her of the baby she couldn't have back then.

Just a few minutes Arion's father returned with formula that he had brewed. She gives Arion the bottle in the hope that she will be calmer and not cry anymore.

Sure enough, now Arion is calmer in Ruby's sling. He no longer cried and closed his eyes while enjoying the formula in the bottle.

"Sorry to trouble Ma'am. Here Ma'am let my Arion carry," said Arion's father as he reached out his hand to grab his son's body.

"Let me sir. Later he woke up if he moved the sling, pity sir, he just slept," Ruby said without looking at Arion's father, he just looked at Arion's face while smiling at the baby.

Suddenly the door to the IGD room opened. A nurse came out of the room and exclaimed,

"With the patient's family."

At once Arion's father stood up from his seat and approached the nurse, saying,

"How's my wife doing?"

Someone in a white coat approached them. The doctor said,

"Sorry sir, we're so sorry. My wife had a heart attack. We've tried our best, but fate says something else."

Instantly Arion's father's body went limp. Her tears came out on their own, saying,

"No, it's impossible... Mother would not leave Father and Arion alone without a mother taking care of her."

Without feeling the tears Ruby came dripping. He felt a deep sadness from Arion's father's cry. At that moment Arion cried again, as if he knew what had happened. With great difficulty Ruby tried to calm him down. While Arion's father followed the body of his wife who was transferred to the morgue, and took care of the return of his wife's body.

"Pity you, still a baby but your mother has left behind" Ruby said, staring at the baby's innocent face.

Suddenly Ruby remembered something. Then he said softly,

"Are they going to hold me accountable?"
