Booms!
Gunfire and explosions were heard simultaneously. Dust and smoke mixed in the air, blurring the view and suffocating the chest. Andrew coughed and crawled among the rubble of the wall. He could not guess who had just destroyed the room: whether it was Robert's men, the men led by Ryuchi, or Jovanka.
“Kobayashi!” andrew shouted as he rested his body on the sofa filled with dust.
He stood up and stepped forward. Almost the entire man standing by the door bounced in all directions. Some had wounds on their bodies, but Andrew did not have time to examine them one by one. The focus was Hiro leaning against the door with his eyes closed. Blood seeped from the corners of his mouth, making the white shirt he was wearing flushed. While Ryuchi and his men are nowhere to be seen.
“Sial!”
Mr. Tanaka would be angry.
No. gabe.
No. gabe.
It was certain that he would explode like an atomic bomb that hit the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The man is too ambitious to catch a mob kingpin in Japan and Mexico to his roots. But now all his plans are likely falling apart. I don't know when there'll be another chance like this. So Andrew thought, if Hiro died and Robert managed to escape then .. It's possible that the old man would make anyone an outlet of anger.
“Andrew!” exclaim Jovanka and communication tools that had been interrupted for a moment, “Report your position!”
The woman could see the chaos inside through a mini-monitor connected through Andrew's device. His heart is pounding. He did not expect chaos in the mission this time.
“I'm fine. Kobayashi was shot, immediately send medical personnel,” replied Andrew while crouched beside Hiro, “Close all exits. There's no way that bastard went far.”
“Understanding!”
Jovanka gave a warning to Mr.'s men. Tanaka to surround the building that became the entertainment venue that night. Some troops soon formed barricades and blocked all access to exit. Visitors who scatter to the door are directed to one side and must pass an identity card check before actually leaving the place. After giving instructions, Jovanka led the rest of the troops into the building.
Andrew cursed loudly. He did not expect that there would be an attack like this so as not to prepare medicines. He quickly opened the suit and threw it in any direction, then took off his shirt and pressed the gunshot wound on Hiro's chest with the lump of cloth.
“Kobayashi, can you hear me?” asked Andrew while checking Hiro's pulse.
Hiro groaned softly and opened his eyes. The shadow caught by his retina looked faint, but he was still able to recognize the figure before him. Between his heavy, intermittent gasps, the man gathered strength to be able to speak to Andrew.
“I collect your promise ...,” murmured Hiro on the verge of his consciousness.
“Be quiet. Don't move much. Save your energy,” interrupted Andrew while staring at the end of the hallway, hoping for help will come soon.
He desperately wants to chase Ryuchi and Robert, but there's no way he'll leave Hiro alone in that place.
“Jimmy?” call Andrew while trying to activate his communication tool again. Unfortunately, his efforts did not work. The static sound with a high screeching tone made him forced to disconnect again.
Bizarrely. Why are only Jovanka channels connected? Why the old help?
Hiro blocks Andrew's arm with the rest of his power. His chest felt like it was being ripped from the inside every time he spoke. However, he must ensure that Keiko's safety is assured if he cannot survive.
“Listen to me..,” murmured Hiro shimmily as he pulled Andrew's hand to get his attention, “Ryuchi went after Keiko. You have to save her ...”
“What did you say?” andrew was pretty loud. His whole body suddenly stiffened. Why everything changes so fast. It's completely outside of the original plan.
“Your people have betrayed. Otherwise .. how could he know everything. Quick. Go and save Keiko!”
“But you—“
“Don't think of me, damn it! Go save him!”
Hiro coughed and regurgitated fresh blood. Andrew approached and wanted to help him, but Hiro grabbed a gun lying near his hand and pointed it at Andrew.
“Go! Goddamn bum! Or I'll finish you off!” his his hiss while aiming right at Andrew's forehead.
Andrew's hands were clenched. He must make a decision immediately. He also knew Hiro was not lying or manipulating himself. The blood that kept dripping out of the man's body was definitely not a ruse.
Finally Andrew decided to get up and said, “Hold. Paramedics are coming. Don't move much!”
Hiro was unable to even nod or answer. He just closed his eyes and leaned against the wall helplessly. At least if he really dies this time, there will be someone who takes good care of Keiko.
Andrew ran to the end of the hallway, then almost toppled over when the door leaf opened wide and several officers scattered in. He recognized Jovanka among those people, but if what Hiro said was true, then he should not waste a second's time.
“She was there, hurry up,” Andrew told medics who passed nearby.
He approached Jovanka and said, “Ryuchi. He betrayed the Kobayashi family. I'll go after him.”
“I ... hey! Andrew!” jovanka exclaimed when she saw Andrew running away without waiting for an answer or approval from her.
“Sial!” swearing the woman while punching the nearby wall until reddish patches appear on her white knuckles.
“Two of you, quickly follow Captain Andrew!” jovankan ordered while pointing at the two men escorting him behind.
“Ready, Commander!” two men in semi-military uniforms answered at the same time. Shortly after, they both disappeared at the end of the hall where Andrew had gone.
Jovanka took a deep breath before activating her communication device.
“Captain Andrew pursues family assistant Kobayashi. Robert Castillo has been confirmed dead, while Kobayashi Hiro is seriously injured,” reported succinctly.
On the other end of the phone, Mr. Tanaka continued to swear in Japanese while beating the table in front of him. His eyes flashed horribly when he cut off the phone. The old man took a disposable cell phone from the desk drawer and dialed the foreign number he had memorized out of his head.
“Run the backup plan,” the command as soon as a rustling sound is heard on his phone.
“Good, Mr.”
