Chapter 2 - Bringing Rani Home

Monday morning...

Alka woke up 2 hours earlier than usual, this morning she had to prepare all the needs of herself and her children.

Cooking, preparing clothes for Varrel going to school.

Not to mention the dishwashing that piled up because last night did not have time to clean it.

Dirty clothes will be sent to the nearest laundry from his house.

Milk for Sean has also been prepared, last night he brought all his children to shop at the nearest minimarket from his home.

At 6am and 15 minutes later, Alka woke up her eldest son.

Varrel was still asleep, Alka held her son and took him to the bathroom. Usually, Rani does things like that sometimes wake her up to help her lift her first child's body.

Sean's crying voice rang out, Alka told her son to bathe himself and Varrel agreed.

Sean looked for his mother's figure and continued crying, Alka carried him and gave him the milk he had prepared.

Shortly after, Raline wakes up and searches for her mother in the kitchen. "Mother!"

"Raline, you're awake too," Alka threw her smile.

"Dad, where's Mom? Why haven't you come home yet?" Ask.

"Mom still has business, son."

"What business?"

"Dad doesn't know, either" he replied.

"I want to be with mom, Dad!" Whimpering.

"Yes, later we will meet with the mother" said Alka. "You take a shower and breakfast, I'll take you and Sean to Grandma's" she continued.

"Why are we going to Grandma's, Dad?"

"Because no one is looking after you, I want to work again" replied Alka.

"But mom's coming home, right?"

"Yes" Alka replied lying.

Raline finally wanted to take a bath, finished cleaning herself Alka put clothes on for her.

"Dad, tie my hair!" Her request.

"Dad can't, Raline." Alka said softly

"Mom can, why can't you?"

"Alright, I'll try to tie him up" Alka tried.

Raline kept quiet and let her father tear apart her hair, and then she reflected.

"Hows it? Pretty, right?"

"Not as good as mom" he answered honestly.

"Tomorrow, I will learn again to make your hair more beautiful," said Alka.

Raline smiled thinly.

After breakfast, Alka hugged her three children. First he takes Raline and Sean to his grandmother's house.

The middle-aged woman smiled when she saw her granddaughter coming, she welcomed with a joyful heart.

"Where's Rani?" Ask Lilis.

"Later I'll tell you, Ma," he replied. "I leave them here till the afternoon, is that okay, Ma?" continued.

"No problem, Alka. Mama's happy they're here" Lilis said.

"Thank you, Ma. Then I'd like to leave for work and take Varrel to school" he said.

"Yes, be careful," Lilis held Sean.

Alka and Varrel passed.

Lilis, who was curious about where her daughter-in-law was, asked Raline. "Why isn't your mom coming?"

"Say dad, mom's gone, Grandma."

"Where to go?"

Raline answered him by raising her shoulder.

"Unusually, Rani left without taking her children," Lilis said.

After dropping off her eldest son, Alka rushed to her in-laws' house which took 90 minutes to ride on a motorcycle she bought 7 years ago.

At exactly 9am, Alka arrived at the parents' house of his wife. Get off his motorcycle that he parked in the yard.

Alka walked into the large 3-story house, once the building was very luxurious among the neighbors.

Knock on the door and say hello.

A middle-aged woman came out with a tart face. "I was expecting you to come here!"

"Rani won't come home with you!"

"Ma, the kids need him" Alka said.

"You and your mother can take care of them" Rita said.

"Ma, I beg you to persuade Rani to come back to us again" said Alka.

"Mama will persuade Rani if you give us three million a month" Rita said.

"Ma, if I had money, I would give mom and dad that much, even more" said Alka.

"When are you going to give us that much money?" ask Rita. "Since you've been married, you've only given us a million days" he said.

"Ma, I'm sorry if I haven't been a good daughter-in-law to you. But, as a husband, I tried to make her happy" Alka said.

"You've been married for seven years but you've never seen her travel abroad" Rita said. "Remember, Alka. Rani is my youngest daughter. A lot of rich men want to question him but he chose you who only have a small workshop" he wrote.

Alka was silent unable to refute.

"You better go home, take care of your kids and your little workshop!"

"Ma, let me meet with Rani just once. I want to talk for a moment" said Alka.

"Mama just give you ten minutes to chat," Rita stood up and went to her daughter's room.

Soon Rani appeared to her husband.

Alka smiled happily looking at the face of his wife whom he knew 8 years ago.

"What's up, Mom?" Rani put on a ketus face.

"Sean needs you, she's too small to know her mother is gone" Alka said.

"Mas, I'm so tired of taking care of them. I want to work and make a lot of money" said Rani.

"You promised me you would run the household ark both regardless of my job and income" Alka reminded her.

"Yes, I thought you would get the inheritance from your father that an innkeeper apparently did not. I also envy my friends who always post their travel activities around this country even abroad" said Rani.

Alka heard his wife's words with teary eyes. "You don't sincerely love me, Rani?"

"I love you so much, Mom. But, I need money. You never let me work, what's wrong?"

"I don't want your attention to our children to diminish, Rani."

The woman did not care what her husband said.

"Rani, please go home!" Pinta Alka's.

"I don't want to, Mom. Before you let me work," said Rani.

Alka took a deep breath and then exhaled. "Well, you can work!"

Rani smiled happily at him.

Alka did it for the sake of the integrity of her household.

"Alright then I'll go home with you," Rani looked excited.

Alka smiled forcefully.

Rani goes to her room, before long she shows up with Rita.

"Are you sure you'll be back with him?" Rita asked her daughter.

"Yes, Ma. Mas Alka allowed me to work," he replied.

"Good then, mama is glad you're working and can give us some more money," Rita glanced at her daughter-in-law as well as insinuated her.

"Yes, Ma" answered Rani.

The two also arrived at their residence which has been inhabited for 7 years. Alka rushed to pick up her children at her mother's house.

Arriving there Raline saw him and ran to Alka and smiled.

"Where are Varrel and Sean?" Ask Alka.

"They were inside watching," Raline replied.

"Let's go home!" bring him.

"Mom's home, Dad?" ask Raline.

Alka nodded.

Lilis holding Sean appears from inside the house with Varrel.

"Sister, I'm home" Raline told Varrel.

"Really, Dad?" ask the boy.

"Yes, son," replied Alka.

Varrel smiled happily.

Lilis approached her son, "You still owe Mama an explanation, Alka!"
