Fire Breath

Fire Breath
Obviousness

That morning Sabina was busy making bean cakes and attacking water to brew tea. A very bright morning if not disturbed by the sounds of police car sirens that rang the front road of Sabina's house.

For hours people crowded around to see the bodies scattered in the street.Copies had also been in and out of Sabina's house while interrogating her with questions.

But with her charm Sabina immediately made the human police immediately believe her words so they stopped disturbing her.

After finishing with all the police business, Sabina returned to her cooking hobby, while occasionally peeking at Aiden who slept soundly in her reading room.

He had never seen a sleeping person, because all his family members, and even himself, had never slept. Therefore, he was very fascinated to see how the dark-haired man was so comfortable sleeping.

"What a beautiful sight." he said many times.

Therefore, he cheerfully made a wobble of peanut cakes, honey cakes, and all the cakes he could make.

"Why are you making so much human food?" nora asked then after being so saturated seeing her master excited and fascinated at a human male.

"Of course for Aiden. He will definitely be very hungry after waking up again," Sabina jovially said.

"You're sure bringing him to stay here would be safe? He doesn't know who you really are and you haven't eaten a decent meal in weeks. What if you attack him or he can't accept you after knowing the real you?" drag Nora at length.

Sabina just hummed a little and ignored Nora's words.

"I couldn't bite him. The blood of a witch is no better than the blood of a frog. Believe me. I and Irish tried it as children" replied Sabina indifferently.

"But you haven't eaten in a long time. You look so limp."

"Let's just calm Nora. Last night when you and Aiden fell asleep I drank some of the supplies I had stored in the fridge."

"Huh? What if the witch sees it? And is that enough to hold your hunger?" nora asked, getting more anxious.

"I've spent it. And the bottle that I kept, I threw it away. At least I wasn't as hungry as yesterday" replied Sabina pulling out a peanut butter cookie from the oven.

"Ah, Aiden is awake!" sabina exclaimed as she arranged her cookies on the plate and poured Aiden a cup of tea.

"Good morning? How's sleep?" greet Sabina as soon as she saw Aiden walking towards her.

"Good morning. It's the most comfortable sleep of the week "Aiden replied still half sleepy.

"Drink this." Sabina said thrusting out a steaming cup of tea. "I also made some cookies."

"Thank you." said Aiden briefly and then started sipping his tea. Instantly he was refreshed. "It feels like having a wife" he chuckled.

Sabina just smiled knottyly.

"Oh! What about the bodies in front of your house?" ask Aiden surprised.

"It's been since the morning the police came in and out of my house. But they don't seem to see any mistakes I've made. So they're leaving soon."

"Good it happens quickly and is dealt with quickly. In the past, in my place, there were still frequent witch duels that caused a lot of terrible dead magic.

"But ever since the elders formed the government, all forms of dueling were abolished. Deadly spells are also prohibited. It's very boring" Aiden said.

Sabina just smiled hearing Aiden tell her a story. Now he realized that the man loved to tell stories. So, even though there was nothing he could tell, at least Aiden had a lot to talk about.

"Oh, yes, yesterday my wand reacted when I was near your house. Maybe the stuff I'm looking for is around here" Aiden said later.

"Wand? How can a stick react?" sabina asked in surprise, imagining a talking wooden stick.

Aiden looked at him amusedly.

"It looks like you don't know anything about witches," Aiden said half-chuckled. Sabina nodded in agreement.

"I've heard of witches. But I never cared because I thought I would never meet them" Sabina explained.

"You should get used to it then." Said Aiden.

"Well, we can indeed bewitch without the need to use an intermediary, but that only applies to simple magic. When performing magic that is complicated and requires a spell or with a long distance, we have to use intermediate objects. That thing is not just any thing either.

"It also increases magic power. Witches usually wear wooden sticks made from trees that contain magic power" Aiden said at length.

Sabina nodded in understanding. All the shadows about the talking stick had already faded somewhat, although he still wondered how a wooden stick reacted.

"So, how do you do next after knowing that your stick is reacting to the thing you're looking for?" asked Sabina later.

Aiden shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't know either. I think I'd better wait. I want to rest a day two days after all this time I walk."

Sabina sniggered small. He began to think that Aiden did not really care about his job looking for the item. But he doesn't care either. Somehow Aiden's arrival made him very happy and excited.

The night had gone down and darkness had enveloped the city. Sabina was busy cleaning up the kitchen when she felt very hungry. Suddenly he felt unable to control his changing body.

His eyes flashed silver and his fangs and nails began to lengthen. In a panic he rushed to the backyard to calm down. Aiden was busy watching TV with Nora. As much as he could, he wrestled with his body.

Slowly his fangs and nails shortened and his eyes stopped glittering. His feet soon became a theme and he fell down. Nora who noticed it jumped out followed Aiden.

"Sabina? What's going on?" tanya Aiden raised Sabina's body and helped her stand up.

"Slippy grass slippery. I'm not careful" Sabina replied, shaking Aiden's hand trying to help her.

Aiden clucked violently as his hand was flicked violently by Sabina. He looked at the girl with a sharp look.

"There are actually a lot of questions that I want to ask even though I realize I will not get the answer" Aiden said in a high tone.

"What for example?" sabina asked annoyed.

"Your face is always pale and never blushing, as if you have a disease that never heals. Then your body was so cold that I could feel it slipping into my bones.

"Now you shake my hand when I want to help you. What's the matter, actually?" ask Aiden.

"Aren't my words enough not to touch you, whatever I really am. And I guess we don't have to interfere in each other's affairs despite living together in MY house?" snapped Sabina.

"But I told you all about myself..."

Aiden looked unhappy at Sabina's words. He clenched his hands as if trying to hold himself to talk longer.

"alright. If I was really bothering you. I'll be out of your house soon!" aiden said rudely and immediately turned around to leave.

Sabina closed her eyes with a split breath.

"You need fresh blood" said Nora, who was looking at him.

"I'm leaving now, Nora," sighed Sabina who was almost out of breath.

Sabina's back creaked slowly and instantly a pair of black-feathered wings sprouted from it. He then flew away ignoring Nora's anxious gaze.

For a while he was circling in the air. Luckily the night sky was so dark it was filled with clouds, therefore Sabina did not have to worry about anyone seeing it flying.

After a while, Sabina saw a woman walking alone in the city park. He swiftly swooped down and landed soundlessly behind the woman.

Without folding her wings, Sabina ambushed the woman and covered her mouth. His two fangs stuck in the woman's neck and tore her veins. Sabina sucked and continued to suck until her mouth was filled with blood. After being satisfied with the release of the woman who had been limp lost that life.

As he was about to turn away, he was surprised to see Aiden was already behind him and saw everything. Sabina was speechless to see Aiden staring at her. He doesn't know exactly what he's feeling. Fear, worry, shame, all the unpleasant feelings mixed in his heart.

But then he looked at Aiden's green eyes with his own eyes that had turned silver.

"This is the real me. Did I make you feel sick?" sergeant Sabina.

Aiden looked at her expressionlessly and increasingly made Sabina feel guilty.

"From the beginning I met you, I've been reading you. I adore you and never get fed up" said Aiden flatly.

"But you didn't see me like this. I prey on humans! I'm no different than the werewolf you saw the other day! I can even prey on you," Sabina said holding her rising tone.

"But you didn't do it."

"But I can.."

"Whatever you do and whatever you really are, I still feel like you're a good girl." Aiden's gaze began to soften and made Sabina almost cry.

"I killed a human being." said Sabina holding back her sobs.

"You must have had a reason to do it. If I were in your position, I would also be looking for food when I was hungry" Aiden said walking over to Sabina.

"Don't you think I'm a ruthless killer?" asked Sabina who was now sobbing harder and harder.

His body had returned to its original state and his wings had already been expanded. Only his mouth was still full of blood and dripping down his clothes. His rushing tears on his cheeks slightly spat out the remnants of blood from his face.

"The girl who can make a very delicious cake is not a cruel killer," Aiden replied getting closer to Sabina.

"But. but.." said Sabina sobbing and trying to retreat away from Aiden. Aiden stopped walking and looked at Sabina very gently.

"I've been in love with you since I first saw you. And I love you more and more after I get to know you better" he said later.

"That's because you got my charms. I'm a vampire. All vampires have the power to attract humans" Sabina said.

"That's not all that interested me. I love your cakes. I also like your friendly attitude. And you have helped me a lot too.

"I like you even if you're a vampire who killed hundreds of people. I don't care and I can't stop this feeling!" aiden exclaimed with a pleading gaze.

Sabina cried even harder and clenched both hands on her face. Aiden immediately grabbed him and hugged him tightly.

"I don't care even if my body gets cold every time it touches you. I'll keep holding you even if I can freeze for it."

Sabina is sobbing. Now all the bad feelings in his heart had changed. The first time in her life Sabina felt a warmth that made her very comfortable.

Aiden rubbed Sabina's face full of tears and blood. But the effort was futile and not her getting cleaner but instead making Sabina's face as flat as blood.

"Let me do it myself" said Sabina who took Aiden's handkerchief to wipe her face.

"Your face looks more colorful now" Aiden said. Sabina smiled slightly hearing that.

"Then what are you going to do with this woman's body?" ask Aiden.

"We'll just take it. Nora can take care of it."

"You don't think anyone else will see you. Are you bringing a goat?" ask Aiden confusedly.

"People won't see us if we go through the air" said Sabina, who had begun to lift her body and carry it on her shoulders. "Come.." he continued, extending a hand to Aiden. Aiden welcomed Sabina's hand.

"You better hug me" said Sabina.

Aiden. The next moment Sabina had already taken out her wings and they darted flying towards Sabina's house. The journey only takes a few minutes. Sabina flew very high and fast.

Aiden was a little nauseous with the air travel, but fortunately they soon reached the backyard of Sabina's house.

When she landed, Sabina put the woman's corpse into the grass. Nora who seemed to have been waiting immediately walked up to them and took turns looking at Sabina and Aiden.

"The story is long Nora. The point is Aiden already knows about me. That's why you don't have to pretend to be ordinary" Sabina said. "But most importantly, please clean up my food," continued Sabina who then entered her house.

"You still want to come here after you know everything?" tanya Nora looked at Aiden with a satisfied look.

"My feelings for Sabina may be the same as your feelings for her," Aiden replied as satisfied. "Then, how do you fix this?" aiden pointed at the woman's body.

"Like that. But I'm afraid I won't look funny to you anymore" said Nora, who suddenly grew to the size of a lion complete with very sharp fangs. He then briefly devoured the human corpse until it was gone. Aiden slightly bearded at him.

"How's it?" nora asked after turning big. Nora's voice became heavier than before.

"From the beginning I never thought you were funny" Aiden replied.

This is not the first time Aiden has been involved. In his village, there are still many magical creatures that prey on humans. He himself had faced one of them and was even almost preyed upon. Therefore, he was not too surprised to see what Nora was doing.

"I've seen a creature far more savage than you" Aiden said later.
