"So we have to let this dragon live?" sabina asked disapprovingly.
"It's best, Sabina. We don't need to commit unnecessary murder" Aiden replied later.
"But what if this dragon comes while we're in the nest looking for silver bullet?"
"I don't think this dragon will wake up in a short time. We have enough time to look for her" commented Nora who had now turned into a wounded little cat in Sabina's arms.
Sabina still seemed hesitant, but since Aiden and Nora had already agreed on the matter, she finally relented.
"Well then let's go in now" Sabina said later.
The three immediately entered the dragon's lair, heading for the room where the treasure was hidden. The room was as dark as before. Aiden immediately cast a spell to make several balls of yellowish light glide across the ceiling of the cave.
Now, with enough illumination, the pile of treasures present in the place seemed very clear and glittering. The treasure gunug was so large that Sabina herself was not sure she could find the silver bullet in such a short time.
"How do we look for him? I don't even know the shape of the silverbullet. If it's a bullet, it means it must be very small. And look at this much treasure," Sabina lamented later.
"Let's split up and look for it patiently" Aiden suggested, who also appeared hesitant.
With******* slow down, they finally started searching. Sabina sorted out the valuables according to the type. His instinct to tidy up the messy pile of treasures was moved. Various things are piled irregularly there. There are weapons such as sword blades, spears, bronze shields that are very heavy, until the magic sticks are inlaid with gemstones. In addition, there are also various jewelry ranging from luxurious ruby necklaces, to crowns full of gemstones, whether from which kingdom. The era of the kingdom has long since been destroyed.
They work for hours and may even be past a few days. Luckily the residents of the Forbidden Dark City gave them plenty of food as they left the city. Even so, the food was not enough when compared to the amount of treasures they had to sort through. Aiden already looked tired while Sabina looked so bored because of the monotonous work. Nora's condition, though, has gradually recovered, but is not yet strong enough to help the two of them search for the needed object.
After about three days of struggling in that stuffy cave, Sabina finally gave up. Even with his vampire speed, conquering the mountain of treasures was not at all easy. Aiden did not seem to last much longer. The two of them decided to get some fresh air for a while outside the cave.
However, not until their steps reached the exit of the treasure room, suddenly a long black-haired man dressed in a dragon scales robe, stood in their way. Sabina and Aiden immediately turned wary of having the person appear without any sign. Even Sabina could not feel his presence at all.
"What do you want from my guest?" asked the straight-haired man along the waist.
"Who are you?" sergeant Aiden while raising his wand, preparing to protect himself.
"I should have asked that. You disturbed my sleep, then poisoned me with the fountain of Akheron's death, and now you're trying to steal my treasure" said the man coldly.
Sabina observed the man and realized that there was a pair of horns resembling dragon horns that they had defeated the other day. Both horns were sticking out on the man's head and were dark blue in color.
"You ... yesterday's dragon?" asked Sabina to guess.
"really. I am Ladon, the owner of this land, the last of the dragons," said the man as he puffed his chest.
Both Sabina and Aiden looked surprised at Ladon's confession. They did not think that the giant dragon yesterday had now turned into a thirty-year-old male figure with long hair and a handsome face.
Ladon cleared his throat slowly. "That's because you gave me the fountain of Akheron's death. My strength was sealed because of the damn spring," he growled while clenching his hands.
Sabina and Aiden looked at each other in confusion, weighing what actions they should take against the dragon.
"Now I may not be able to stay here anymore. You must be responsible for restoring my figure by regaining the fountain of Akheron's life" Ladon seemed annoyed.
"Why do we help you? You've attacked us to the point of almost killing Nora!" sabina was angry.
"I'm not a bad dragon. I have never disturbed any other creature and only live in silence in these mountains. However, you guys just carelessly disturbed my sleep and upset me. I have no choice but to suspect you of being a threat" Ladon said in self-defense.
"And if we don't want to help you, what can you do now? We can kill you with that weak figure," Sabina retorted later.
"Wait, Sabina … . He's correct. We were the ones who disturbed him the first time. We should have helped him get back. He is not an evil dragon," said Aiden trying to mediate.
Sabina glared at Aiden. The young man had a very good heart. However, Sabina had not yet opened her mouth to refute Aiden's words, the dragon had already stepped into the cave. Sabina and Aiden retreated cautiously.
"It seems you're not the only ones who want to rob my treasure. Are you looking for a special item that's hard to find?" ladon asked as he went around observing the work of Sabina and Aiden who made his property neatly piled up.
"There is no understanding of you" Sabina replied.
"I can help you find him. Even if it looks messy, but I memorize the location of all the objects here. Just tell me what you're looking for" Ladon replied lightly.
Sabina and Aiden were like getting a breath of fresh air. If Ladon's words are correct, they need not be tormented in the stuffy room while sorting these various sparkling objects for days. Even so Sabina felt like she did not want to trust Ladon so easily.
"We're looking for silver bullet" Aiden said before it was prevented by Sabina.
Despite that, Ladon did not appear to be threatening. He just nodded slowly while trying to remember.
"Ah .. that thing. If it seems to be there. I'll give it to you, but you'll have to promise me to help me get back to my true form" Ladon said later.
Aiden looked at Sabina expectantly. The girl could only sigh long. He eventually relented and then nodded slowly at Aiden. Aiden smiled happily in response.
"Alright, Dragon. We will help you get back to your true form" Aiden said.
Ladon smiled with satisfaction, then walked towards the end of his pile of treasures. After digging for a while, Ladon also held a silvery box as big as his hand.
"This is the thing you're looking for" Ladon said with a happy grin.
