Francis hugged Edna very tightly because only this time he saw Edna so seriously saying that he wanted to get away from her.

"What if I leave your life forever? Are you gonna feel like you're losing me?" edna asked softly in the niche of Francis' neck.

"What are you afraid of? Tell me. I can help you handle it. I want us to be more open" Edna said.

Francis let go of her embrace and cupped Edna's cheek and kissed her lips.

"I've known you since you were a teenager. And that's when you tied me up too tight. You're so important to me that I can never let you go. I didn't expect you to have such a strong influence on me. The longer I love you the more. I'm just afraid of hurting you one day because you're too valuable to me" Fancis replied.

"You're not gonna hurt me. I know you very well" said Edna.

"Are we going to talk about this until it's over?" ask Francis.

"Hm. It's time we talked seriously, honey. We're not kids anymore. We are very mature and we need to make this relationship clear. I just want us not to play anymore. I'm tired of that. We've been in this relationship for years" Edna replied.

Although he was younger than Francis, Edna's thinking was already very mature. Edna is a complete person. She is mentally strong, fun and can be a good listener. That's what made Francis fall in love with her.

And coming from the same family background broken home made Francis and Edna fill each other. The difference is, Edna views all things more positively. In contrast to Francis who judged that all marriages would end badly like his family.

Francis seemed silent for a long time before answering Edna's question.

"My mother died giving birth to me and my father who forced her to get pregnant when my mother's womb was too weak to have a child. He didn't care when my mother died. And he really empowered me to be the best. If I didn't live up to what my father wanted, he'd blame my late mother because I didn't live up to his expectations and he'd torture me, too. Until when I was a teenager, I started fighting it and always making trouble" Francis said.

This time Francis told Edna. Francis never told Edna his problems and grief for fear of being considered weak. But this is exactly what Edna wanted to know. He wants Francis to be more open to him whatever it is.

Although it looks cute and cheerful, but Francis keeps all his gloom for himself. He doesn't want to share it with others, including his friends.

Edna then hugged Francis and rubbed his back slowly.

"I love you, honey. You're not gonna lose me. You must accept whatever destiny God has given you. We can't change it. I know you very well and you won't be like your father" said Edna.

Only this time did they speak from heart to heart like this because Francis had always avoided talking like this. He didn't want his weakness to be known to anyone including Edna.

"Don't leave me. I'm gonna try to fix this. Give me a little more time because it's not easy for me" Francis said.

Edna said nothing. He simply hugged Francis warmly and became a backstop for Francis' heartache.
