Don't Say Love (BOOK 2)
Chapter 43

The cold object moved above the surface of the distended abdomen of a woman who is now focused on staring at the screen that displays a face in the form of a clot from a life that resides in her uterus. Seven months. Already during that time the petite figure had grown strong within it. The little angel of the incident whom he did not want, but now loved very much.

"seen right? he's very healthy. Seems like he's not ready to meet his parents." Said the obstetrician by moving the ultrasound device on the surface of the stomach.

The cold sensation was indeed felt by Arnetta, the patient who was now looking at the figure of the child, but a warm feeling had run through his heart when he saw the face of his son, the boy who will be born from his womb. His son with the man who had brought hell into his life.

"The nose is sharp, yes. It's like his father." Once again the doctor voiced, but this time immediately responded by the figure of the man who was thought to be the father of the baby.

"of course. He's my son."

Patrick with a pongah face and proud to admit that the baby's nose is indeed down from it. The man was indeed from the first run his role as a prospective father with slick. The first time doing USG, the man even to the point of crying to see the face of the future baby. No one will know if Patrick is not the husband and father of his future baby.

Arnetta who saw the man's reaction could only smile wryly. If Patrick were really her husband, she would be happy. That man will definitely be a good father for his children later. But, what is power ... Arnetta knew that it was all his wishful thinking. The man could not keep making a shield. Gradually there will be a figure who will definitely accompany Patrick in his old age and he knows it is not him.

"I'm going to prescribe some vitamins for the mother."

The doctor left after informing Arnetta and Patrick who were still studying his role as a father. The man turned his face towards Arnetta's distended stomach with a warm look. As if the man was not just a role, but he was actually a real father. This is still not spared from the eyes of Arnetta that makes the woman's heart worried.

In her heart Arnetta knew that she did not put any more feelings on any man. It feels to a man is almost destroyed because there are so many wounds that he received from a male figure. If anyone ever gave him a favor, then Patrcik was the first to do it.

"Why ?"

The man realized that since then Reva has continued to look at him with a view that is difficult to interpret. The woman's silence made her guess many possibilities, but afterwards Reva just kept quiet and then asked for help with a gesture to be helped sit down. The woman did not seem to talk much during their consultation. It was as if Reva had her own thoughts without wanting to be shared by anyone.

Arnetta could only shake his head slowly. He was tired of struggling with his mind. After all, if he voiced what was inside his head, he would receive the same reaction. Patrick rejected her idea to stop pretending to be her husband.

When they got to the doctor's desk, Patrick looked attentive, watching Reva's every footstep. The man was so introspective that the doctor allowed them to sit down. Even the man pulled up the chair so Reva could sit down easily. Seeing the scene the doctor and the nurse who were there immediately threw a look of admiration. How not, Patrick, who used to be unheard of issues with women let alone his colleagues is now coming up with a pregnant woman he recognizes as his wife. When the last track record of the man working in this hospital, many female sisters who talk about Patrick's sexual orientation began to be doubted.

"You're very attentive to Doctor Patrick."

The man immediately misbehaved to hear the compliment for him. Over and over again, he never got used to the compliment. Not unaccustomed because he did not like it, but Patrick always wanted to hear the praise from everyone. He loved it when others praised him as a good husband. It feels like his heart is pounding when he explores his role as a husband and prospective father.

Thrilling. Tranquilize.

There was no feeling of unease since the first time someone thought Reva was his wife and they were waiting for the presence of the baby. If only ... Reva wanted to marry the woman and be the husband, as well as the father for the daughter. No matter where the seed came from. He always felt that the child in Reva's birth had a special bond with him.

"We are very much looking forward to this child" he said, stroking Arnetta's distraught stomach stunned by Patrick's attitude. The woman didn't even make a sound until they got to the car park. There, in the car Arnetta just silent while turning his eyes outside the car window. The woman's furious face was so stark that Patrick, who noticed it, was a bit disinclined to rebuke her.

When they got home, Arnetta went straight down without further ado. The woman acted as if she was holding anger in who, but to Patrick it feels like she has a dislike for him today.

"REVA!"

Patrick spontaneously shouted the woman's name, though he had no intention of doing so. Unconsciously his heart was broken along with his rather high tone of speech made the woman turn around with her surprised face. His eyes widened as soon as he heard his name being called out so loudly.

"A-What's up ?"

"A-what's up ?"

Yeah, and then again the woman asked me what happened to Patrick. From the hospital, he chose not to talk much. There is no specific reason. He felt so tired today. Many inner symptoms in him that are quite draining especially the treatment of the man earlier when at the obstetrician increasingly makes him feel in a difficult position.

Patrick brought himself closer to the woman. His gaze looked straight at Reva and he wanted to ask if he had made a mistake today. Since their return from the hospital the attitude of the woman was awkward and she did not like it.

"I'm the one who should be asking, what's wrong with you?"

Reva frowned in surprise. "There's nothing."

And yes, Patrick has no problems or mistakes whatsoever. In this case, it is the guilty.

"Then why are you so cold ? Did I do you wrong ?"

Arnetta was silent for a moment. No. gabe. Not the mistake that man made. Patrick is the best man he's ever met in his life. There was no way that a single mistake from him could obliterate all the good he had ever received. It's just that Patrick's attitude is too good to make him more depressed. He must immediately confirm everything before he is increasingly mired in this misunderstanding.

"No. You're a good man, there's no way you can do me wrong."

"What's the problem ?"

Arnetta straightened himself. His face was resolutely in tune with his heart. He must dare to assert this situation. Just in case Patrick doesn't like the idea that's in his head, then he's ready to leave this house.

"You're a man who's too good, too good. Sometimes I misunderstand you. You know, your attitude like this makes me even more unpleasant. Don't tell me you love a bad woman like me. I've been ruined. Don't you make me more broken later because I misunderstood you. Tell me, if this is just kindness, I'm asking you not to exaggerate it any more. Let's just say that I'm your friend, or maybe your neighbor or maybe the person you met on the street who needed help."

Arnetta continued to spit out all of his head in a moment when the man just went silent and looked at him as if he was digesting every word that came out of his mouth.

"Please don't make me misunderstand, Patrick."

The woman confirmed her last sentence before finally turning around and walking into the man's house. If today Patrick is offended by his words and starts to hate him, then there is no reason for him to stay here. Maybe someday he'll repay all the man's kindness to her.

But Arnetta had not yet left Patrick, the man's voice seemed to jolt his heart and mind now. Words he never thought would come out of the man.

"I don't care if you misunderstand all my kindness. Keep misunderstanding because all the conjectures in your head are true."

Arnetta turned around immediately and caught Patrick still standing in his place, but the man's hands clenched tightly as if holding something back.

"Keep misunderstanding, but all you have to know is, I'm really happy to be your pretend husband all the time. If you think I do love you, yes ..."

It seems like all the time stops between the two. Both Arnetta and Patrick felt the slowing movement of time around them.

"I do love you."
